First time camping with a family, 2 children aged 11 and 16 yrs, site was very friendly, 2 toilet blocks - one at camping end of site and the other up near shop and caravans, top one was better although both were reasonably clean. Free showers which were fine except on the Saturday when my husband got a cold one ! Tthe site was busy by then so that could explain it. No problems with noise and pitches were fairly generous. Free hot water and covered washing up area and even over weekend you didnt have to queue for more than a few minutes.
Electric hookups were available but had to be booked, and were near the very busy middle arae of the site. We chose a quieter spot at the top of the site which was fine. Only problem we found was there are not many places nearby to eat - need to drive really to eat out. Outdoor play area was popular but mostly with younger children,Games room ok, pool table and games machines, a little packed over the weekend and the licensed bar was just that - not a cosy pub more like a workingmens club but to be honest thats not what we went for - disco's on a Sat night are not really us. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Just returned from this site, following a weeks stay. I have to say that the site is first class. We stayed in a large family tent without electrical hook-up. The tent pitching areas are clean, well tended and pretty flat. Cars can be parked next to the tents, so there's no lugging heavy items over large distances.
The whole place has a friendly and helpful atmosphere and the facilities are very well maintained. The toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and the bins emptied daily. The showers had plenty of hot water, as did the wash basins and sinks(all free), except when really busy - the supply struggled a little to meet the demand. This isn't a real crticism though.
There is a well stocked shop, a bar area and games room for the kids. There's also a good sized outdoor play area, but pitch a little way off that area if you prefer a quiet life !
The site has a 'no loud noise after 11.30pm' rule, which was pretty well adhered to by most. The site is well laid out and it's obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the design. The staff were very helpful and the added benefit of a linked marina area is a real plus for anyone with a boat or, like us, kayak (which was free to launch !) In summary, an excellent site, with good facilities and friendly staff.

August 2005 Thought it was a smashing family camp site. The 'no noise after 11.30' rule certainly made a diference as it was silent each night by 11.45. Great kids play area. Small, reasonably priced shop. Small bar - but reasonably priced.
On the downside - not enough showers and the hot water ran out by 8.30 am - but clean and tidy.
We'll go back for sure.

July 2004 This is probably one of the best sites we've visited to date. Pitches were large, toilets cleaned regularly, large children's playground, small shop, generally all you could expect.
Down sides - probably not the best site if you want to use the bar, it seemed to be opened spasmodically, and if you need a grass pitch with electric hookup make sure you have a long lead as we only just managed to stretch it.
All in all a very nice site, and one we will almost certainly return to at some point in the future.

July 2004 Spent two nights here and found it be be a great park. Kids loved the play area, the shop is well stocked and the toilets/showers were clean.
The campground is well kept and water points lit at night.
Nice views from the area around the park and other campers were friendly. Been to parks where noone talks to anyone else.

June 2004 First impressions of the site was good, plenty of space to put the tent up and not be on top of your neighbours! We had nice views from where we pitched to the left and right of us you could see the hills. One of the major let downs of this site was the shower/toilet block! Firstly the ceiling!!! Well it was strange to say the least! One slat of tongue n groove then a gap, one slat, then a gap etc etc. Wasn't very nice looking up and seeing all the elec wires poking through! Secondly the cleanliness of it, muddy floors and we never noticed it being cleaned, we stayed here 4 nights and the site wasnt busy so how it got like that I dont know.. Flip flops essential.. Also the ground staff start work at 8 in the morning, tractors and banging bins to be expected.. There is no cafe on site as stated.. but the shop has most essentials! Good play area, bar and indoor games room were ok.. Overall we had a good stay

May Bank Holiday 2004 Well first I have to say that we thought the site was absolutely great - only been to 1 other though. The ground was lovely and green and the pegs went in straight! The reception were nice and friendly too. The park area is great for littlees but the "dog walk" isn't up to much. The club house is not too big so gets full quick. The surrounding area is beautiful. Loads of places to walk. Was busy with it being bank holiday but you weren't on top of each other. Will definately be going again.

august 2003 A lovely camp site. Really enjoyed our few days there. My younger one enjoyed the childrens play area while my older ones liked the Games room (opened at 8pm). The Owners were very nice. We camped in the field between the loos and the park .. No complaints about the park at all .. showers/loos were fine, apart from 1 cold shower I had. Prices were great .. 2 tents, 2 adults, 6 kids, 1 dog and 2 cars total cost for the 3 night we were there £72 Not bad at all Camps shop prices were not too bad either. Will def go here again.

August 2003 This was my first camping experience and I thought the site was lovely. The shower blocks were very clean, although in busy times there was a queue (you just had to time it right). As it was a bank holiday weekend the park was very busy and to be honest our pitch wasn't great but it was ok.
There is a no noise after 11.30pm rule and this was pretty much adhered to. The bar has a disco on a saturday night and there is a games room for the kids.
All in all it was a great site and if we do travel to this area again then I would definately stay there again.

August 2003 A great campsite with good facilities. The boys enjoyed the games room, although the youngest preferred the play area. We were pitched in the large area to the right of the lower toilet block, and there was a bit of a pong coming over from the sheep field, but only when the wind was in the wrong direction.
The site was very quiet at night with little noise from other campers. The showers could become a litle muddy, but a pair of flip flops sorts that. Other than that the toilets were clean and hot water was in plentiful supply. Another plus is that there are no heavy handed tactics from staff... we were an hour and a half late decamping (12.00 is the set time) and no-one bothered us.
We will definitely go back to this site.
