Woodclose is a very good site but, like so many sites is let down by the lack of cleanliness in the shower rooms, Very strict arrival times reception closed when we arrived at 12. 40pm to be reminded 'Arrivals are from 1. 00pm' Difficult to judge traffic when travelling any distance on M6. Surely reception could be covered by staff at lunchtime and not just closed so receptionist could have lunch! Showers are not available from 22. 30pm to 7. 00am Entrance gates are locked between midnight and 7. 00am Children were allowed to run around the site noisily and to play football in centre area of touring site (pitches 12 and 12A) despite there being a playpark and a 'separate area on site for ball games' We are here on holiday and like to 'come and go' as we please, and not to be 'locked in at night' TOO MANY RULES and TOO MANY RULES NOT BEING ADHERED TO.

A lovely site close to Kirkby Lonsdale and 5 minutes walk from Devil's Bridge.
The toilets and showers were all spotless - there are 4 showers in individual rooms with a toilet and wash basin. The showers are the push button type but the temperature was good and the water flowed for a reasonable time. There is no extra charge for the showers.
There are two toilets with wash basins and hand dryers.
Washing up can be done in a large room with 4 sinks and drainers. The taps are normal taps rather than the push variety, the water was hot and plentiful and the room was clean. This room also has a wealth of tourist information on display.
Each pitch has a tap, EHU point, TV point and grey waste drain, most of the pitches are hard standing with a grassed area next to the pitch. Awnings must be placed on the hard standing not on the grass. We don't mind this as it cuts down on mud in the caravan if it rains.
Also on site but not used during our visit are a laundry, children's play area and playing field. Reception stocks eggs and local produce but we didn't buy anything on this visit.
The staff were all pleasant and helpful and I'm sure we'll be back.

An excellent very well run site in lovely countryside with many walks nearby and abundant wildlife. A very competent reception, so others take note. The site is like a park and the hard-standing pitch we were on was fully serviced at an amazing £15/night which I thought was an excellent deal, think it was mid-week price deal. As others have said Kirkby Lonsdale is about 15 min walk away over Devils bridge but it was a bit disconcerting at first to have to walk through an official Gypsy site however there was no problems, think they are what is termed 'proper Gypsy's'. The walk back is steep though so not very good for the unfit. The bus to Settle which we took drops off at the top of the hill by the site entrance on the return leg eliminating the steep walk back. From town.

What a great site. Been trying to get in for years and finally made it. Quiet and well kept and easy walk into Kirkby which has several pubs (very dog friendly) and places to eat. Will go back as soon as possible. Even the many travellers parked up next to Devils Bridge on their way to Appleby did not put us off. Nice facilities block which was spotless

Booked online which was so easy. We arrived later than expected but the staff were brilliant and helped us onto our pitch. Site is fantastic, a short walk to Kirkby Lonsdale, surrounded by beautiful countryside and spotlessly clean. Only had a few days stay but will definitely return.
We used the site as a base to cycle, walk and visit National Trust properties in the area. The site is only 10 minutes from the M6 but so peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended.

We don't normally go for organised sites with lots of facilities. However, after staying here for 3 nights at the end of the season, we agreed that this is the best site we have ever stayed on. The pitches, as well as the toilets and showers are spacious, well thought out and well equipped. It is a fairly large site, but it is divided into sections, so that you only see a bit at a time and it feels very relaxed. Lots of walks in the surrounding area, and a short pleasant walk into Kirkby Lonsdale. Staff were friendly and helpful. We're already planning a return trip when it reopens next year!

What a fantastic site best we have ever been on, absolutely faultless. Staff polite and helpful. Separate shower rooms with basin & toilet plus single toilets. There are lovely walks into Kirkby Lonsdale, which ever direction you go from this site it is beautiful with magical places to find. We stopped on this site for two weeks and would have stopped longer but had to go back to work!.

Brilliant site! Friendly owners who showed us to a fully serviced pitch. Toilets, showers, etc all immaculate. Had my daily paper delivered to the site which I could read while eating a freshly baked croissant.
Just a 10 min walk into Kirkby Lonsdale via the Devils Bridge.
Great value for money and would return if in the area.
