Site is mixture of touring pitches, seasonal pitches, static units and hireable ‘wigwams’ (wooden cabins). Hardstanding pitches are fully serviced with EHU, water, TV and waste offering very good value for money.
Ideal base for touring the area and site is only 10/15 minutes walk from town centre. Kirkby Lonsdale has good shops and plenty of eateries.
Highly recommend the local bakers that offers full breakfast by open fire in morning and tea and cakes in the afternoon. Devils Bridge, magnet for weekend motorbikers going to ‘the famous’ butty bar for bacon sandwiches is only 5 minutes from site.
Lovely walks and bike rides down quiet county lanes direct from site. Central shop (well stocked) / reception and facilities block with laundry, wash up, and toilets/showers.
Shower / toilet rooms, not toilet / shower block, which is very good but could be problem during busy periods, as they are limited in numbers relating to size of touring pitches on this site.
WiFi available on site from ‘Club WiFi’ – but 48 hour access for £ 6. 00 is 2 days from logging on and is not 48 hours use. Overall this is a good site and great location for exploring the area.

We stayed here last September for 2 nights and absolutely loved it, so much so that we booked for the bank holiday weekend this year,
I must say everything about the site was exactly the same except the toilet block, which was disappointing as it got such a big tick from me last year.
I never had to queue but they weren't as clean as before, we arrived at 4pm in the afternoon and the sink still had someone toothpaste spit in the sink! They smelled as though they hadn't been cleaned all day either and during our 3 night stay I never saw anyone cleaning them, the water in the shower wasn't hot enough either,
Would still recommend it to anybody who likes caravanning in a fantastic part of the country, the surrounding area and walks are made in heaven.

We visited for a long weekend to road test our new unit and were really impressed with the site. The shop was fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough to assist us.
We needed to get some gas but weren't sure what fitting for our unit and the staff brought everything we might need down to our tent whilst we were pitching so we could find the right one!
The showers were great, really spacious and we could all go in together which made it easier sorting out our 11 month old daughter!
The other facilities were without fault and Kirkby Lonsdale with everything it had to offer was only a short walk away. This site is very deserving of all the accolades it has.

Just returned from a wonderful two night stay.
The location is great five mins walk to Devil's Bridge and nice park with picnic area. Fifteen minutes to the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale, with several pubs and restaurants.
Kirkby Lonsdale is in an ideal location for the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Morecambe Bay.
The facilities were immaculate, and the hot showers' are free. 20p for hairdryer and even hair straighteners.
They have used the majority of the camp field for new wooden wigwams. It is a shame that they did not make use of the small field next to the wigwams for extra tents. They must be losing a lot of revenue! I only hope we can camp next year!
Overall, we had a great weekend and met a lot of nice people during our stay.

The site is in a lovely location near devils bridge. The village is only a few minutes walk away with everything you need eg pubs, shops, cafes etc.
Good clean showers and toilets and on site shop. Nice play area for children. Lots of cute rabbits around site.
This would be a lovely peaceful site with a little more consideration from the site staff. Very noisy site vehicles rode round the site (often before 8am)emptying bins and driving over noisy metal grids.
I have never been on a site that cuts the grass and hedges as often as this one using very noisy machinery, also in the field behind us they were preparing ground for more caravans this also caused a lot of noise sometimes before 8am.

Just returned from woodclose caravan park after 2 nights stay with family and friends, who stayed in one of the fantastic wigwams.
We have used this site for weekends for about 5 years now and will say this is one of our top five sites.
Only being hour and a half away its great for short breaks. Good base for Yorkshire dales, lake district and even Blackpool is only 1/2-3/4hr away.
The site itself is very friendly, well maintained and clean, Even whilst being extended.
The only thing I can say wrong is that they could do with a hook next to the shower for your towel.

Wow! This is the best campsite I've stayed on and I can't see any topping it!
The weather during our stay wasn't the best - windy, cloudy, rain at times - but this didn't detract from how great this site is.
The location could not be better - it is up the lane opposite Devils Bridge - a 5 minute walk away, if that. Kirkby Lonsdale itself is a 15 minute ish walk away along the river. A lovely walk where your dog can be off the lead and have a swim. We were told that every pub in Kirkby Lonsdale accepts dogs. I don't know how true this is but we went in The Orange Tree and The Red Dragon with ours and she was more than welcome.
There are plenty of shops to wander around, what a lovely little town. There is also a Booths on the edge of town for your food shopping.
The facilities on this campsite are great. We stayed in the same field as the statics - this might not appeal to some, but we weren't bothered. The area where the rest of the motorhomes / campervans stayed looked nice and busy given it was mid week when we stayed.
We used the main facilities near this area - I believe there are more near the camping area but I didn't see these. There are 2 toilets which are in their own private cubicles with hand driers and sinks, lovely warm cubicles. There are 3 showers, again in their own cubicles with toilets in also. I did have to queue for the toilet a couple of times but this wasn't a great concern.
The shop is well stocked and the staff very friendly and helpful.
There is a small children's play area which looked well maintained / new, but not having children we didn't use this.
I'm not one for going back to the same place, but we will definitely be returning here.

We spent three days here. The tent area is only small but they are extending it (did we know it, they were working on it on the days we were there.Very noisy!). Until the new area is developed this site is certainly geared towards the caravan / campervan however it is a lovely site.
As mentioned before the facilities are second to none, huge shower rooms with plenty of hot water and very clean. The toilets are 'shared' and not female / male and I would say in busy times there are possibly not enough.
During the day we had good weather but experienced heavy downpours, thunder and lightening all three evenings. The ground didn't get soggy but I would imagine it was because it so dry beforehand due to the lack of rain. I would suggest rock pegs as the ground was very hard in places (we have some so it didn't cause us a problem).
The site is situated in an excellent location with very good access to surrounding areas. We visited Windermere which is only a 30 minute drive away. Kirkby Lonsdale village is lovely and dog friendly.
Only downside was the noise, I wish we had have been warned prior to our arrival!

Stayed for 3 nights over Easter Bank Hols. The facilities are very clean and the pitches are level with electric hook up and next to the wigwams.
There's a dog walking area and a further large grassed area and played ground for the kids to safely enjoy themselves. The site is a mixture of both tents, statics/touring caravans and mobile homes. There's a small shop selling the usual essentials and you must try the black pudding, it made my breakfast.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Alpaca's in the adjoining field, the kids were fascinated by them.
Its a short walk to Kirkby Lonsdale and Devils Bridge where there is some great pubs and shops to enjoy.
The only gripe I have is one of the pitches is under a large tree - the birds use your tent as a toilet when perched in the tree - but that's nature!
Overall the campsite is compact, but large enough to give you your own space and we intend to go back. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

A safe, clean and friendly site very close to the superb Kirkby Lonsdale and Devil's bridge (5 minute walk). Received a very warm welcome and quickly parked up and unpacking.
Also it is surrounding by paths linking to excellent walking areas and nearby villages. The toilets and showers are excellent- individual rooms, although this does result in having fewer than they need when really busy.
Kirkby Lonsdale is a pretty town with an excellent choice of pubs, places to eat and boutique shops- a real gem of a place.
The only downside is that the site is over-flowing with static caravans and touring caravans that look like they are parked for the season. This is a caravan site with some touring / camping pitches so if you are after a camping site you might find it is not for you.
