What a hidden gem of a site. Tucked away a few hundred yards from the main Ledbury to Hereford road. The entrance to the site is wide, leading onto a narrow lane with ample passing areas. The road takes the visitor past the sites fishing lakes, the grass banks are well manicured, showing the vistor the standards he/she can expect from the site.
The reception area is big. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a well stocked shop (Basics). Fish & chip vans Fridays and wednesdays (Best yet).
The facilities are absolutely spotlessly clean and well appointed. Wide shower cubicles, plenty of hot water. Enough facilities for the whole site.
We paid £5 extra for a relaxed late departure, Value for money.
Some nice walks around the site, saw a 18lb 13oz carp being landed after a 45 minute fight.
The site is very, very peaceful. Children are welcome. There is a playing field but no swings etc.
Best site that we've been on for relaxation.
We can recommend this site
We will be going again.
We will take our grandkids.
Very close to Ross on Wye and Symmonds Yat.
Westons Cider factory 5 mile away at Much Marcle.
Brilliant.
This is what makes the Camping and Caravan Club so different. A very well run site.

There's a bit of a theme developing in my recent reviews - Camping & Caravanning Club sites. I've stayed at several in recent months and been very impressed by the consistently high standards of operation and maintenance. In mid-July I stayed for one night at the C&CC's Hereford site and it did not disappoint.
The location is just off the A438 at Tarrington (midway between Ledbury and Hereford) in attractive rolling wooded farmland. Despite being narrow, the entrance road gives good access for cars, motorhomes and towed caravans. The approach is alongside an attractive tree-lined fishing lake and, as other reviewers have remarked, this is an ideal campsite for anglers. There is a nice open spacious feel to the site.
Several reviews have commented on the railway which flanks the campsite. However the line is shielded by trees, trains are infrequent during the day and don't seem to run at night so there is very little disturbance. You can hear traffic on the nearby A438 road however.
The wardens live on site and they gave me a warm welcome. As I have said in other reviews, C&CC sites aren't cheap if you are not a member but if you are the rate is very reasonable. Dogs are welcome and a dedicated dog-walking path encircles the site.
Electric hook-up (EHU) is available on most of the pitches although mine was a 'grass only' non-electric pitch. A surfaced track threads round the site so campers can park their car beside tents. There are plenty of hardstandings for caravans and motorhomes.
The site lies on gently undulating ground and is enclosed by trees so there is plenty of shelter. The grass is short and the soil takes tent pegs easily.
The facilities block is a modern purpose-built unit and it is fitted out to a very high standard. I particularly liked the spacious shower cubicles with glass shower doors. However, the number of loos seemed a bit inadequate for this large-ish campsite. That said, there was no sign of crowding during my stay and the facilities were spotlessly clean.
In summary, this is a very well-run and well-maintained C&CC site and I would definitely return if I was in the area.

Franchised site where we received a very warm welcome from the new owners. The facilities are up to the best of club sites. The main attraction is to fishermen. The lake is very popular and was fishing very well despite the heat. I caught several good sized carp over 10lbs.
There is a mixture of grass and hardstanding and you can choose to be near the lake if you wish. The shop stocks all the essentals including bait for fishing and some excellent sausages.
The site is located well for touring Hereford and Ledbury. There is a bus-stop at the end of the drive so we left the van behind and went into Hereford by bus.

Very open and level site with good size pitches. The facilities appear new and were spotless at all times. Push button showers to save on hot water are a pain, not lasting more than a few seconds at a time. The glass shower doors were a welcome change to shower curtains though. The step into and out of the shower tray was approx. 10/11 inches and for me (waiting for two knee replacements) this was rather high there being no grab rail. Shop was well stocked with food etc but also had a good selection of baits and tackle for the anglers. As a fly fisherman I was not allowed on to fish and sadly I couldn, t find any tackle shop in any of the towns nearby to buy a cheap rod and real. The fishing did look excellent though and very reasonably priced at £7 a day. As a walker the surrounding countryside was a delight to be in. Hereford and Ledbury are a ten minute drive away (Hereford a nightmare having no bypass and a thousand sets of traffic lights). A wonderful site.

Lovely well kept site with good clean toilets/showers.
Hard standing and grass pitches. No play area for children so probably suit couples and Adults. Train line next to site but wasn't noisy. Large fishing lake which looked very pretty and seem popular. Dog walk the whole circumference of site through trees (one of the best walks on site I've seen which does make life easier when you're taking the dog/s on holiday with you)Set in a rural area not far from Hereford. Malvern Hills not too far away which are great for walking. Ross on Wye, Symonds Yat, Hay on Wye all worth visiting. The black and white village trail. Apple cider orchards. Plus plenty more besides. Hereford is a very pretty peaceful county, well worth a visit.

Very impressed with this site. Stayed for 6 nights with my dog (Bernese Mountain Dog) and he enjoyed the walk on site and the country lanes, which lead to footpaths over the beautiful countryside of Herefordshire.
Warm welcome from the new owners, given good sized serviced pitch, which allowed my dog to lounge about on!
Plenty to see and do in Herefordshire, also if you like shopping (ladies) try Ledbury!
Lovely fishing lake on site if you like course fishing. (no good for me as a flyfisherwoman!)
I will visit again.

I visited this site for the first time and I found it pretty much ideal for my purpose - which was primarily a visit to the Morgan Motor Company factory in Malvern.
I was sited at the top of the slightly sloping field and, unlike some other reviewers, wasn't at all bothered by any road or rail noise. The only bothersome thing that I encountered at this time of year was millions of daddy-longlegs (crane flies)! They were everywhere, in droves! Even the horde of ducks from the fishing lake couldn't keep them under control, but they did try!
The facilities I thought were pretty good generally and very clean. But why would you have seven or eight wash-handbasins and only ONE hot-air drier? Similarly, the urinals are in a sort of alcove so that if the outside one is occupied then the others are in accessible - a masterpiece of design ineptitude!
The local pub is about a 15 minute walk away but, be warned, they don't serve food on Sunday evenings or at any time on Mondays. There is a mobile fish and chip van that visits the site on Wednesdays and Fridays though - and very good they are too!
I probably won't return to this site purely and simply because I feel that I have 'done' the area.

Large, well maintained Franchised site with its own fishing lake. Excellent toilet facilities which have music (Radio 2) piped in. (although this can be a little worrying at first when a female presenters voice comes on!). Railway line runs along the side of the site, although the trains are not really visible. Handy for Visiting the city of Hereford, including the Cathedral, where the Mappa Mundi is to be found. Other interesting visits are Brockhampton, and Hampton Court Castle.

We arrived to a very warm welcome following a very fraught and eventful journey. Just what we needed. This site has a very peaceful and calm feel to it. Instant relaxation.
We don't fish but we enjoyed the lake and we also enjoyed the large spaces between pitches. It's a lovely place. As you would expect the facilities were spotless and the water was hot! The locally bakes Chelsea buns from the shop were gorgeous and the fish and chips from the van that visits twice a week although pricey compared with other mobile services we have used, were very tasty. Although near a main road and a railway line neither disturbed us or the tranquillity of the site. Very usefully placed for touring the Wye Valley and Herefordshire.
We will definitely return and next time we're taking our bikes.

A lovely park chosen for dog friendliness and bus route as we didn't want to use the motorhome to explore the area.
First disappointment was the no walking the dog rule around the beautiful fishing lake. Yes there is a dog walk but you pay for all of the park so you should get access to all the areas. A bit unfair and should be made clear before you book.
Secondly we wanted to visit Ledbury by bus as parking difficult and expensive with the motorhome. We had our bus passes, so looking forward to the trip. Bus stop very handy, but no dogs allowed on the bus ! We have travelled on our passes with the dog many times before but this is a first.
Due to no dog rule on the bus and round the lake we will not be returning. Also there is noise from the railway along the rear of the park, not a problem for us.
Nice large cubicled showers but not many toilets or basins, very average size and quality. Pitches were a good size and well spaced.
