This was the first site we stayed on since joining the club earlier this month and we could not have picked a better one!
The welcome afforded to us by the site owners was totally genuine and put us at ease straight away.
The owner took us in person to our pitch which was in a beautiful position and explained exactly where the sun would rise and set.
The toilets, shower block, dish-washing facilities were better than we could ever had imagined. How they keep them so clean with so many people using them we shall never know. Full marks to the good people who do this work,as it means everything to the campers who use these facilities. The on-site shop was well stocked with a wide selection of food and merchandise, run by very helpful staff.
The on-site fishing lake is a big bonus to anglers and non anglers alike, as it is a joy to just wander around its banks in the cool of the evening.

Long weekend at one of the friendliest sites I've been too. The showers and loos were immaculate. I joked to Mr Kathmandu that all that was required was some piped music, and next morning, lo and behold, there it was!
The grass was kept short and laying on a swallow's nest and chicks in the washing-up area is well above the call of duty. The shop was well stocked with good bread and cakes and essentials and there was a sensible freezer block system.
The millpond was apparently well stocked with fish, a nice carp was landed the evening we walked around. The distance between units was strictly adhered to and there was plenty of space for children to run around although no play equipment.
The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the nearby Wye Valley is stunning.

This has to be the best site I have ever had the pleasure to stay on for so many reasons. We booked this site purely for 4 days fishing for my husband and he was not disappointed in that area. He was able to walk from our motorhome with all his gear to the lake which is safely away from the accommodation and safe for children in my opinion.
We have 2 daughters age 5 and 10 and although the site has no children's facilities, this did not bother them at all. We knew before we booked, but children always make friends and there were plenty of other families with children.
The site owners can not do enough for you, so so friendly and cheerful, and obviously very proud of their site.
It has immaculately kept, large pitches. We had a spot right next to the railway, which was not a problem at all, we forgot it was there most of the time.
The site has a well stocked shop selling freshly baked local muffins (to die for) and freshly squeezed apple juice from the orchard next door, fresh cakes and biscuits from a local bakery.
The Toilets are immaculate, they even pipe music through for you to listen to.
There is a regular bus (hourly) to take you into Ledbury & Hereford, and if you stand at the end of the road to the campsite and put your arm out the bus will stop. Ledbury is a beautiful little village steeped in history. Has a great little swimming pool and big park.
On the Saturday evening of our stay the owners hosted a free barbecue and cider tasting for a local charity, it was extremely well planned and very busy, attracting nearly all the people staying on the site I would say. This was a lovely touch.
Will be returning here again and again.

Spent 2 nights here - it was only our second stay at a club site - wardens were friendly, campsite was fairly level and has a fishing lake for those who partake in the sport & only 15 mins by car into Hereford Town Centre. On the downside, nothing of interest in the village of Tarrington, not worth the walk, just houses & 1 pub. There is a railway line that runs behind the perimeter of the site so was quite noisy, quite late into the evening. The toilet disposal was right next to the washing up area & could be quite smelly and even though the shower block was clean, the showers themselves were of the annoying variety, pushbutton every 10 secs, fixed shower head & fixed temperature

We had a five night stay at hereford. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
The washrooms were immaculate.
The campsite was very clean and tidy.
We travelled with 2 adults, 2 children, one of which is disabled and a dog.
A good sized clean disabled wash room.
The only down side was the fish and chip van that arrives on a friday. The wait was unbelievable. The only fish they served was cod, the rest was pies(Microwaved), sausages etc. And chips were frozen ones. On the plus side, I didn't have to cook.
We all had a great time and the children liked the space to play.

We were so lucky with the weather when we went to Hereford. It was really warm the whole weekend. Unfortunately we had a pitch with a huge tree behind it which kept us in shade the whole day, still we just dragged our chairs to the front of the pitch & dozed in the sunshine.
The site is so quiet & peaceful you can really relax. The facilities are great though my husband felt it would have been nice to have some separate cubicles for shaving rather than standing in a line.
The site does not really cater for children so I certainly wouldn't recommend it for families. However we will certainly be returning some of the best r&r we've had in a long time.

Agree with all the excellent comments of this site and thought the toilet block wouldn't look out of place in a 4* hotel, so will just add a few comments not mentioned recently.
By walking right out of the campsite leads to some fairly quiet lanes and eventually to The Ashperton forest so area good for walking. As has been mentioned a bus can be stopped at the top of campsite approach road, the service is about hourly and reliable, last bus from Hereford about nine in the evening, later at weekends.
The local pub Tarrington Arms about 15/20 min. Walk has quite an upmarket restaurant at upmarket prices so costly for a family of four, I tried the very nice early bird two course menu for just under a tenner. There is a separate bar to this pub and sells the local Wye valley real ales but found them a touch disappointing.
Paid £9.40 (as a C&C club member) for one nights camping with ehu so consider this a good deal for a site of this calibre. The only problem I found was that Network rail decided to carry out maintenance work in the middle of the night waking everybody up.

Well our first visit to this site was memorable for all the right reasons, were do I start,
The staff couldn't have been more helpful from assisting with pitching to advice about fishing and local area. We went at Easter, well as you may recall the weather was atrocious, so bad that they closed some of the pitches, but this still did not deter campers trying to pitch in the rain and wind and in true camping and caravanning style, there was plenty of volunteers to help out with pushing vans, cars etc.
Toilets and shower blocks were outstanding with highest standards of cleanliness, well stocked shop of the usual supplies from camping equipment to fishing tackle. This site was full to capacity. Due to the weather the grassed areas were very wet to the point of unusable therefore they were closed of.
The wardens came round to let people know that they would come along and help with the aid of a small tractor to get your caravan from the pitch onto the main track. The fishing is very good still have a few scores to settle with a couple of carp so will definitely be returning. Well done guys.

Easily located between Hereford and Ledbury, the site has an idyllic and peaceful setting, with ample space between a choice of varied range of pitches. All round views mostly facing the 'mill pond' from which it gets it's name.
Site is flat with plenty of hard standing pitches
The toilet block is modern, clean and the final touch of piped music played while washing in the excellent showers.
There is a shop, which sells local produce opening from 8.30am to 5.00pm (the time the reception opens till it closes)
Laundry, as well as separate disabled facilities, chemical disposal is also at hand.
A recycle scheme is in practice.
A bus will stop outside, (a small walk out of the site onto the main road) and when requested stop on the return journey, (please note, this is not an allocated bus stop, this is situated further up the road)
Only downside I can see is that the is a train line which runs to the back of the site which I found to be of minimal hindrance and the only toilet block is a walk if pitched to the perimeter of the site.
The site wardens are very friendly and helpful

We have just returned from a three night stop over on our way to West Wales. We never thought about this area before, we selected purely because it was on our way.
This site is a little treasure, starting with the campsite owners Bill and Lynn, they are not only helpful and knowledgeable, but the are good company and good fun. Their staff are equally focused on providing excellent customer service.
The site itself is very pretty with a beautiful fishing pond and all the wild birds that come with it. The pitches are big and well spaced and the facilities are some of the best I've seen in this country. The toilet/shower block is brand new, spotlessly clean and WARM! There is a laundry room with coin operated washers and driers, and there is a small shop in reception.
The area itself is great, very pretty and very English, lots of rolling countryside, thatched cottages, barns and apple orchards (this is cider country). I would imagine this is stunning in the spring when the blossom is out on the apple trees.
The area around Ross-on-Wye is worth a visit, and a trip up the Malvern Hills will reward you with spectacular views over Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Wales.
Will definitely be back, hopefully soon. I would book early as I expect this site will be full most of the summer!
