We have just returned from a weekend stay at this campsite which we chose because it is close to Hereford.
Having recently joined the C&CC this seemed an ideal opportunity to try out one of their UK club sites in the low season.
Local directions on the C&CC web site were good and were treated to a warm welcome by Bill who showed us to a generously sized hardstanding pitch.
The immaculate new shower and toilet block was kept permanently warm on a really cold couple of days with some nice touches, such as cotton wool buds, reflecting the attention to detail of the new owners.
Teething problems meant that two of the four men’s showers were out of action and I think that some Jeye cloths hung by the side of the hand basins would encourage neatness in that area.
More dustbins dotted around the site would be a bonus though we applaud the amount of rubbish recycled.
What a fantastic arrangement for catching the bus into Hereford or Ledbury. Simply wait at the end of the road and the bus will pick you up! Didn’t believe it but it’s true!
The Tarrington Arms is about 20mins walk away and has a number of tables and chairs in a good sized garden. Didn’t go in so cannot comment on what the pub is like.
Lovely site wardens and I suspect one of the best sites in the area.
Recommended!

We had a warm welcome from Bill and Lynn the site owners. Bill showed us to our pitch which was a large corner one. We were told to pitch as we want as there is plenty of space. It was level and grassy.
We were the only tent on the EHU field all week, but there is a separate non EHU which is sloping and is overlooked by a few houses.
The facilities layout were a bit strange, but are getting refurbished in November. The mens toilets and showers were in the same area as the washers and dryers and the tourist information room.
The disabled facilities (which my OH used) doubled up as a baby changing room. We found you had to queue for the toilets at peak times.
Even though the facilities were a bit jumbled they were spotless.
One downside is the outdoor undercover washing up sinks are right next to the chemical disposal point, so if you were doing the dishes and someone was emptying their chemical cassette there was a nasty smell.
The fishing ponds on the site are beautiful, if you fish then I would imagine it would be heaven.
There are a couple of dog walks, but you are not allowed to take your dog round the lake which is a shame. You can take your dog though if you are fishing.
There is a shop which sells the usual stuff, bread, eggs, milk, meat etc.
They also have BBQ's for hire at £1 a night and charcoal for sale.
There is a bus stop outside the site where you can go to Ledbury(about 5 miles) or the much bigger Hereford(about 8 miles). Hereford has all the usual big supermarkets, Ledbury a smaller choice.
The surrounding area is lovely, we travelled all over during the week, even down into Wales which is about 40 minutes drive.
This site is in a lovely position, the Millponds are beautiful, especially at sunset and there are many, many ducks that visit your unit looking for a feed. There is also some chickens which roam under the trees across from reception.
We will be back without a doubt

This was our second trip to this campsite and it was of the usual standard for a C&CC site. The pitches are of good size with EHU (can't comment on the non EHU as this is in a separate field but at a glance seems just as spacious). However some pitches are a distance from the EHU point so an extension may be needed.
There is no children's play area as such. Ball games are encourage on the field behind a raised mound.
The shop sells a few basics and is open all day and also takes newspaper orders for the next day. The management are very friendly and knowledgeable. There are laundry facilities and an information room. There is a book of menus for local eating establishments which if you ask the management will make a reservation on your behalf.
The toilet and shower block are looking a little tired but there is planned work on these this November. Currently there are 3 toilets with hand basins,3 showers and 3 wash basins in the ladies and 2 toilets with hand basins, 3 showers and 1 wash basin in the mens. The washing up area of 3 sinks is outdoors but covered, however this may be difficult if raining. There is plently of hot water.
Recycling is encouraged and there are facilities on-site to do so. BBQ's are for hire at £1.
Fishing is available at £7 per day. The pond is well tended and stocked.
The ducks roam freely on the site and around the pond trying to eat the bait!
Ledbury and Hereford are a short drive away and make for a nice day out. There are major supermarkets in both towns.
Will certainly be visiting again.

Just done our first ever full weeks camping and chose Hereford to do it. Excellent site, very well kept. Admission was really quick and we were shown to our pitch, which was good. Pitch was nice and flat. Toilets and showers are very clean although more needed but this is being put right at the end of this season. Could have done with better lighting on the road leading to toilet block but this is only a minor gripe. An abundance of ducks and other wildlife was very entertaining. Very relaxing holiday, would probably return.

We choose this site for our first camping trip, and I think we may have been spoilt!
The site is super, everywhere is immaculately clean and the facilities are excellent, the music in the toilets / showers was a nice touch. As my husband is disabled we were worried about access to the toilets etc, however even the 'normal' facilities have ramps, there is also a dedicated toilet / shower room which is accessible with a key available from reception.
The site is very well laid out and although there were many units there, it never felt crowded. There is a railway line to the back of the site but I honestly only noticed any noise once during our stay.
The resident ducks, rabbits and squirrels were a delight.
Thanks to Bill & Lynn for a great introduction to camping, I am sure that we will return.

Although we only stayed at this site for one night, we couldn't have been more impressed. The site is beautifully situated and immaculate, as are all the facilities, and the owners are exceptionally friendly. Despite the fact that the site is just off the main Hereford - Ledbury road and quite close to what I imagine is a branch rail line, there was no intrusive noise. There are two fishing lakes within the grounds which are very picturesque and there seems to be plenty of opportunities for walking in the area although we sadly did not have the time. There is a pub on the main road not far from the site which looked nice and apparently you can hail the local bus to Ledbury or Hereford at the end of the lane.
We shall be back again in May for a longer stay but fail to see how anyone could not like it at this lovely place.

Just came back from a stay at this wonderful little gem of a site,
The site itself is called Hereford however is close to Ledbury (5 miles) than it is Hereford (10 miles).
The site has only been open since 2008 and the owners have done lots of work to it as it’s a franchise site for the C & CC Club.
Its really easy to get to about 1 minute drive from the main Ledbury to Hereford road although there is no noticeable road noise.
It has a very large field they use for the tents and there are loads of hardstandings for caravans and motorhomes.
There is fishing from the site from the very large ponds near the entrance and they are lovely to walk around although you cannot walk dogs around the ponds there is a couple of dog walks off the site.
The site owners we’re brilliant, really helpful and friendly and the office sells basics but we we’re told they would be selling a lot more locally produced goods come the height of the season.
The toilet block is also apparently having a refit if they have enough money in the kitty at the end of the year, however the toilet facilities we’re of the usual high standard cleanliness you would expect from C & CC, the block itself was very warm and the showers very hot, not push button either which is a big bonus and loads of pressure. I think the only reason they are changing it is a bit awkwardly laid out and the mens showers are not with the mens toilets etc and the laundry room is in a corridor. They even hap piped music in the loos which was a nice touch.
There is a Smallish tesco and a Somerfield in Ledbury and Hereford has a Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys for your shopping. Although Hereford is a city it didn’t feel like one, it has all the major high street shops and everything you could need but wasn’t overly crowded and parking wasn’t to expensive £1.40 for 2 hours.
One downside could be the railway line that runs along the back end of the site, you can hear the trains go by however it didn’t effect us even in the tent, it may wake up kids if they are sleeping in awnings on the side of the site next to the train track however I don’t think the trains ran all night, the last one we heard was at 11 o clock.
Overall a fantastic little site, would be a good stop off on the way from or to the west coast of Wales etc and we will be going back.

We stayed on this site for only one night after being flooded off another nearby site. The owners could only let us stay one night due to prior bookings but in the short time we were there they were very friendly and helpful. The site although very wet was in a lovely location and the facilities were excellent they even had a fish and chip van visiting. We will definitely be heading back there for a longer stay.

A nice club site but you can tell the difference in it being a franchised site. Bill and Lynn go that extra mile which to me a lot of the other club managers could do with learning. The site is an established site with a lot of upgrading in the pipeline. The toilets are small with piped music playing and they are spotless. There is an excellent fishing pool on site which you do pay a small fee to use it. Hereford and ledbury are about 7 miles away but you can catch a bus outside the site .We had a good 3 nights stay here and shall look forward to a return visit.

What can we say about this site well here goes:
Bill&Lynn (owners) are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet, they are so helpful, always smiling they really go that extra mile.We first went there in March and loved it, we went again in July and are going again in October, our only complaint is that they are just over three hours drive away! .
The site is spotless and so pretty, yes there is scope for expansion with the toilet block but know this is in the pipeline. The block they have which has loo's, showers and washing machine & dryer are spotless and would you believe have that homely feel. The shop is getting better and better, we love the tea / coffee and cake they offer we sat outside the reception (they provided a nice table and chairs) we loved it.
The restaurants nearby are great, Bill&Lynn will recommend one they did for us and boy they were great (our only complaint with this is that we did pile on the pounds).
We can't recommend them enough and only hope there is enough room for us whenever we are able to get there.
Well done camping and caravanning club, for having a gem like this. There is so much around that area to see, Ledbury is great, Hereford is super, there is also a great cider brewery nearby (Weston,s) the Malvern hills, national trust sites and some terrific out of the way inviting cafes that do superb cream teas etc. We could go on and on but just go see for yourself.
