Good location. Site well kept but could do with a few more staff. Good facilities but would have scored higher had they been cleaner. Very expensive for a none electric pitch at £23 per night.
On site customer service was very good but it was not easy to book and it took several days of calls & emails to finally book this stay.
The surrounding area is highly recommended with beautiful walks on the dunes and the beach. Gronant Dunes is a fantastic & rare habitat and a "must see" place for wild-life enthusiasts.
The dunes have the only remaining breeding colony of Little Terns in Wales & are also a home to rare Natterjack Toads.
It has board walks, information boards & it attracts enthusiastic conservation volunteers to work with its knowledgeable management team.
I stayed at this campsite because it is only 10 minutes from the dunes.

We were very impressed with this site and will visit again!
The lady was helpful when we checked in and all of the areas were kept clean! You had a fob to use to open the toilet and shower facilities and there was plenty of space for my little one to play football!

We had a fab weekend here.
Jo was very welcoming and even allowed us a later checkout.
The site is clean with good shower and toilet facilities
And well maintained.
CCTV and secure at night with lots of lighting in the paths and at electric hook up points.
Beautiful views from the tent field.
Llandudno and Anglesey not too far and some lovely beaches close by.
We will defo be back.
Thank you for an enjoyable stay
Jo.
See you again soon 😊
9/10 as a basic campsite.
Only because we didn’t try the food there and it would be fantastic if a basic toilet block was put on the tent/camping field

Good spacious pitches, clean toilet/wash facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The play area could be extended as the one swing & slide are for very young children.

Liked- large plot to site the caravan, car and sitting outside, close to beach ( need to drive, but, only a few minutes away). Large field to walk the dogs.
Disliked- first night the electricity went off, luckily, we tried the electricity for another pitch that was vacant and this worked- apparently, electricity works off a card top up system- the warden topped it up when we informed him of the issue the next morning.
Large list of site rules provided, we found that most were not adhered to ie dogs should be on leads at all times- dogs were freely roaming the site,
Open fires are not permitted- a number of these were seen- appeared to be those with permanently sited caravans,
No children hanging about by the toilet/shower facilities- large number of children on bikes who were constantly hanging around in groups.
There is a playground on site, comprised of a climbing/ slide structure and one swing- not suitable for young children.
The site has a general feel of poor levels of maintenance.

Small campsite on the outskirts of Prestatyn.
Arrival: entrance to the site is under a height barrier, this was reluctantly opened (by he warden I presume). Reception was functional but not the usual friendly welcome you get on many campsites.
Positives: access to full facilities at Lyons Robin Hook campsite in Rhyl. Fantastic riding school next door. Pitch sizes are generous. Showers were hot, and lots of water pressure. Good washing up area and laundry.
Negatives: Grass is un-cut and long, which is problematic when it rains (which it does in Wales!). Toilet block is shabby, grubby and rarely cleaned, toilet and shower doors don't close, many taps broken or leaking, broken tiles. The block also smells of drains! Lots of litter lying around the site which wasn't litterpicked by the wardens all week.
Overall: the site has a high number of seasonal let pitches and with a couple of exceptions these are not well cared for by their owners, resulting in a generally poor appearance of the overall site. Generally the site is poor by today's campsite standards and at £210 for a week it isn't cheap either.

As a last minute booking to get on a camp site near Rhyl for the air show this year, I was very impressed with the site. We normally stay at Ty Mawr in Towyn but couldn't get booked.
As St Mary's is now owned by Lyons Holidays, we got free access to all of the facilities at the massive Robin Hood complex about ten minutes up the road. Even better, campers wishing to go to the club at Robin Hood had access to a FREE minibus service between the sites, just by calling to book using a number given upon arriving at St Marys
The facilities at St Mary's are very clean, however as there is only a single toilet block, which is near to the entrance of the site, the trek from the camping field at the back of the site was a bit daunting when the rain came, but apart from that I could fault the site, the staff or the facilities. We got three nights at St Mary's for less than the cost of two nights at Ty Mawr with access to equal facilities.
Situated just outside of Prestatyn, there are a few pubs and shops within a 5 minute drive for convenience.
I'm already planning our next little break there
