Second time we have visited this site and it won't be the last.
Have family living near by so it is a good place for us to stay.
This site is brilliant for just chilling out and letting the kids play outside and making friends.
Went Easter weekend and was surprised there was some pitches still available.
Nice flat site, ground was really dry so no muddy ground sheets, toilet/ shower block always clean.
When fishing pond and play area is complete this will be the best campsite that Prestatyn has to offer.
One thing that would help is a small shop selling basic items.
Keep up the good work.

Just spent Saturday night at this lovely campsite, for our first outing in our new caravan! Twelve great years of camping in the past and finally bought a caravan. We wanted a site that wasn't too far to travel to for our first towing experience and also flat! The guys at the reception were very friendly. Told us that we could pick any pitch we wanted and when my husband tried to reverse onto the pitch, one of the guys quickly came over and told us not to worry, just make it easier and drive across the grass into position, not sure if this would have been possible if the site had been full. The pitches are huge, plenty of space for our two berth, an awning and car. Basic clean well looked after site, but understandably as it just reopened about three, four months ago.
Toilets and showers and very clean, showers are large and lots of room, hooks for hanging but maybe could do with a seat. Laundry room well set out, you can hire an iron and ironing table. Site is by the road side so we did pick a pitch at the far end, traffic didn't bother us at all and in the evening it quietened down anyway.
Pub which did carvery just across the road which seemed really busy. Good sign! If you leave the site and walk to the left a little bit you can then walk down to the beach, no paths beside the road but grass verge wide enough to walk on. Presthaven is only a few minutes away by car, where you can buy your groceries. No playpark yet for the children but some children were happy to cycle round on their bikes.
They also have a Safari Tent for glamping, think they said it hadnt been advertised yet as little things to be finished off yet, it looks really good if you want to camp up on decking off the damp ground. Hoping to head back to St Marys next Saturday for our second trial outing!

Just returned from a weekend away. What can I say, Its a lovely site and the people who run it are fantastic. We enjoyed it that much we are going back in 2 weeks time. Would highly recommend this site to anyone.
The toilet block was to a very high standard along with showers, they were cleaned every day. The site staff are very friendly towards you and willing to help in any way shape or form. Pet friendly site they have a huge field at the back for the dogs to have a good run on, and its all enclosed.
Brilliant place to go to.

I spent a week at this site with my young son and had a fabulous time. The site is basic and open, as others have said, but it is spotlessly clean and tidy and the facilities are immaculate. While there is no play area there is loads of open space for kids to run around, and because it's very open and flat you can always keep an eye.
We found the staff to be brilliantly friendly and helpful, always around and willing to help with anything (being alone with a child I needed some help with the tent).
The only one downside to the site is that you can't walk anywhere directly from it, as it is on a main road, but the coast, prestatyn and the welsh countryside are all within 2 minutes drive.
I would definitely recommend this site, and will stay there again when I next visit north Wales.
The lower rating for child friendliness is only due to the lack of a designated play area. It is otherwise great, having space and always feeling very safe.

Basic grass pitch site. A very neat site, with clean and nice toilet/shower block. Grass kept short and ground relatively level. Dogs and children are welcome and there is lots of space for them to both run around.
The pub that is down the road is very popular, thus very busy. I would therefore recommend else where to eat and drink if you don't like long waits for food.
Had a chat with the current owners and they are very hospitable. Would recommend this every time. Hope to go back with a caravan next time.
The 8 out of 10 is due to lack of camping experience on my part.

Bought a touring caravan in February this year decided to use this site as a first timer to caravanning, wasn`t disappointed just brill,
Had great time, nice and friendly site, quiet site even though there were children on it,
Great for buses into local towns, short walking distance to shops, nice carvery pub over the way
Toilets and showers are immaculate,
Will definitely be going back,
The only down side is there is no play area for the children, the owners said there are plans for this to happen but just takes time.

A site with real potential,
It has just re-opened under new management and you can see the work they are putting in all a round the park.
They could do with some form of seating in the shower cubicles that is our only criticism
Look forward to visiting the site again

When we arrived at this site, we were greeted by Lynn, who was running the site along with her husband Vince. Lynn was very helpful and walked around the grounds with my husband, she explained that we were free to pitch wherever we were happiest, (all with electric hook up). Lynn explained that should we need anything then we were just to give them a shout.
We chose our spot which was situated centrally in the main field, (there is a second field with a fishing lake that is being re-designed. )
Our spot was close by to the shower and toilet block. This has a wash area, laundrette and rubbish bins. This was ideal as we had 4 children in our party.
After pitching we then decided to check the toilet and shower facilities out, we were all impressed there was 4/5 toilets and 3/4 showers in each room. The toilets always smelt and looked clean and there was cleaning products left for each person to use to ensure the showers were clean for the next person to use.
The children were made up to find that Lynn and Vince had a puppy, poor Lynn and Vince never had a minutes peace! Vince would often come for a chat and make sure we were settled and happy with everything, and had good knowledge of the area.
In the area you can find a shop that's a 15 min walk or 2 mins in a car, and The belles of St. Marys Pub, was amazing! This was a 5/10 minute walk from the site £4. 00 for a large carvery and it was gorgeous. Rhyl was only a 10 min car journey away, with plenty for the kids to do.
Vince explained that the site was due for some upgrade, a children's play area was going to be made available, which would only improve the already good feel site more, and work to the second field for campers who don't want electric hook ups.
We felt very secure on this site at 11pm the gates were locked at the main entrance, and these were were opened again at 7am the next morning.
We would recommend this site to all who want a quiet, minimalist but clean with friendly feel site.
Would definitely rate this as one of the best once a play area is available for the children.
We would definitely return and are planning to do so as soon as we can.

Had a great four day break, two adults and a dog,
Toilet block very clean and tidy. Made very welcome and the staff were very nice. Pub across the road,
Many places including the beach (15 min walk) to visit and when the sun was out it was a very tidy place to relax. An ice cream man came around at least twice a day and all shops are a short drive with all super stores quite local.
Great place to use as a base if you want to tour North Wales.
The dog had an exercise field more or less to himself which was a great size and very tidy.
We will be going to this site again.

Just arrived back from 2 nights at St Marys holiday park. Had a really good time cannot praise the staff enough, very friendly and nothing too much trouble. The field is completely flat to our delight, the toilet block is immaculate, every thing was kept clean and tidy. The park is near the main road though you don't really notice it. Plenty of walks nearby. There's a public house opposite and quite reasonably priced. Will look forward to returning to St Mary's in the near future. The site doesn't have a playground as yet
