May 2005 What can I say, this site was totally unimpressive, indeed certainly not what was expected. I would have got better value in a field (actually a local rally was Half the nightly fee for 2 nights). Showers £1 for 5 minutes, of which only 1 of the 3 in the mens was fully functional. The toilet facilities were dirty, no cleaning evident the whole weekend. Vans were parked so close they were within 2 meters of each other in many cases, with vehicles filling the spaces between the vans.

May 2005 Found site in the Cades 2004 book, chose this site as it had a childrens play area. When arrived we asked where play area was, to be told that there wasn't one. Site is on a very busy, fast dual carriageway. The owners had fitted as many caravans and tents on to this site as was humanly possible leaving hardly any space for the children to play. The field on the opposite side of the dual carriageway was also used, meaning people had to cross the road to use the toilet etc. Talking of which, they had crammed so many people in that they had to take the lock off the toilet front doors as they had run out of keys to give to people. They were filthy. £1 for a shower and no toilet paper or handwash soap or dryer provided. We frequently visit camps sites and I have to say for facilities (or lack of them) this is the worst we have experienced.

April 2005 Great site with very good facilities inc launderette. Very friendly and helpful owners. Near a large pub with good food, not far from Talacre beach and Prestatyn. Did not hear much noise in the caravan from the nearby road at night. Will visit again soon, Tom.

September 2004 Visited in September immediately they offered to give me a hand in pitching my caravan which i thought was nice. Fortunately they had an available pitch left on the bank with superb views but did cost an extra £1.00 well worth it! The showers were immaculate and the other caravaners were good people. I tried the coarse fishing they had on park which was nice and relaxing as they limit how many fisherman they will have at any one time.
And most importantly there was a family pub 50yds from the park the only downside was that park 2 was not ready untill next year which I've been told will have all new super pitches so my view is that I will definately be going to st.marys next year!

August 2004 Friendly and helpful owners. Basic site. Noise from the busy road can be a problem. I agree that charging for showers is expensive especially when you are paying £12 a night just to pitch on a field. You have to pay a £10 refundable deposit for a key for the toilet blocks, they don't provide soap or loo paper so be prepared to take your toiletry bag with you every time you need the loo! Not a bad site, but a bit pricy for what you get.

July 2004 I can only say what a lovely touring site. The staff were brilliant, the facilities were spotless, and right next to a superb pub too. I will be definately spreading the word around my friends! The toilet and shower block were an inspiration,as many places it is usually that which lets a place down, but ten out of ten for on this site. Who needs holidays abroad when sites like these are around. All in all highly reccomended, and very reasonable rates too.

June 2004 This was our first family camping trip and St Mary's seems to have been a good choice. The camp was clean and tidy and the pitch was flat. The site is situated on a busyish duel carriageway main road and the site is either side of the road. Only one side was open on this occassion as they are building a new facilities block in the other field.... I was very pleased about this as I had been told by people who had visited earlier of the nightmare of having to cross a busy road.... just to go for a pee... lol
The staff were helpful and very pleasent. The cost was 12 pounds per night per pitch. We had two tents with 4 adults and 4 kids, 24 pounds a night.
I don't want to moan but I should also mention the negatives too. We did find the charge of an extra 1 pound to be a little cheeky to use the timed showers.... which also seemed to be timed to wash a child. We were not overly pleased with the poor standard of cleanliness of the washing facilities... though this may have been because of the ammount of people on the site....we were still suprised that by 8 AM the place would be stinking... lol.... not for me... lol
Because the site is ON the road, it is difficult to escape the traffic drone in the early hours. On top of that, THE CLAMPITS were able to pitch a tent no more than 20 yards away. They played music, shouted, swore and generally acted like louts until the early hours. WE decided that because we were going the following day.... that we would return the favour in the morning...imagine our shock when they got up earlier and woke us up too...lol
Finally, we would definately return to St Mary's site. Don't be too put off by our observations, it's just a realistic review.
