We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 children. The camping field is large and mostly flat with good size pitches & lots of space in the middle for children to play. There is a children's play area with swings, slide, climbing frame & football nets in addition to this there is also a small room with arcade machines.
You can use all of the facilities at the sister site Robin Hood and there is a shuttle bus service for this but we didn't use it.
Site is short drive to a nice beach and there are pubs within walking distance ( didn't try the pubs)
The toilets & showers although functional did not appear to be very clean. Grime & dirt in the toilet cubicles & showers and they didn't smell very pleasant. They were cleaned once daily and to be honest I didn't think that this was enough. There are a lot of seasonal campers on the site with many young children who were in & out of the toilets alone - as a result they were often unflushed or seats were wet. Toilet paper on the floors etc. The showers and toilets were cleaned between 11am & 12 however by 4pm they were in a state again.
Some issues with people dropping rubbish and just not bothering to pick it up. In addition to this there was a strong smell of sewerage outside close to the toilets.
Loads of children of varying ages hanging about near the toilets each night.
Wardens very pleasant but we didn't see them a great deal other than when they emptied the bins in the morning.
This could be a great little site but the cleanliness issue let it down for me - I am not a camper who expects luxury but I do like clean loo's and showers.

Arrived by bicycle but had already emailed ahead to ask about spaces etc.
Brilliant site, facilities where good and although there was a strong wind I was told to camp right up against the famers field next door as his crop was very high so may block some wind.
Went over the road for my tea to the pub but was far too busy, so walked to the chippy which is a little further (in the opposite direction).
Camping field was fairly empty but the caravan section was rammed. But never queued for toilets or showers, in fact always seem to be empty.
Would defo stay again if heading in that direction.

Basic site but good amenity block, great security with gates locked at night and a height restriction barrier, lovely free warm showers and able to hang clothes away so don't get wet. Good covered dishwashing area with hot water. One hand wash container not refilled during our stay. Helpful & pleasant reception staff on arrival and also when we had to leave caravan overnight and collect the following day due to high winds. Location good for beaches and Prestatyn, traffic noise was minimal. Even though grass pitches drainage was good. Problems we did experience during stay were constant nosy residents looking into caravan & awning and many children cycling/running between caravans and over elec cables. Feel price was a little expensive at £28 when no hard standing pitches available. Probably wouldn't stay again but ok if you have children and want a play area on site and to be close to Prestatyn & Rhyl

Just came home from a fab weekend here. Lovely clean facilities. The managers were lovely and very helpful. Our pitch was near the road but the noise was negligible. We will definitely be returning. There is a tea and cupcake shop for when the weather is good and since our visit here last year there is also a small selection of essentials available to buy at the reception. We booked our next stay before leaving today.

Had a great time with my husband mother in law and 2 dogs on our first ever camping trip.
Facilities were great and staff friendly
Great for walking the dogs
Very relaxed and plenty of room to park and set up
The only issue was the showers were too hot and could have caused problems if we had the grandchildren with us.

Pro-
Appearance of good security, camera covering gate, removable height restriction barrier and gates locked at night.
Very friendly wardens, stopped for a chat.
Quick check-in
Good facilities on site, showers, laundrette and wash facilities.
Playground in good condition.
Well drained flat site, couple of dips on our pitch but we pitched tent accordingly
Everyone we spoke to said it was very busy (BH weekend), it didn't seem that busy so must usually be a very quiet site
Large tent field to exercise dogs
Short distance to beaches, Prestatyn and local attractions.
Not a static van or hard standing pitch in sight
Reliable electric hookup, electric free field also available
Free hot showers
Next to busy main road but noise was not noticable
Cons
No character to site :-( very bland flat environment although they do have a fishing lake
Flat and exposed, no established natural wind defences - when we arrived numerous pitches had
Wind breaks blown over and a long term caravan had a collapsed awning due to weather
Speeding cars around site, especially to and from camping field past the playground
Some fellow guests very rude, kids playing football and riding bikes around our tent, screaming and loud conversations from adults till late at night and then loud conversations early in the morning about 'how well they slept'.
Lots of litter, our pitch and some neighbouring pitches covered in cigarette butts.
People not clearing up after their dogs on field
1 child defecated and urinated all over the playground equipment, to be fair wardens removed family from site but it had happened 3 days on the trot and no effort too clean up.
Toilets cleaned on a daily basis, we have stayed at worse but for the price cleaning did not appear to be thorough. Again they were busy but same grime/accumulation in corners of toilet cubicles for entire stay.
Had to clean toilet seats on several occasions due to residents having accidents
Showers were too hot for children to use, bucket and mop provided for cleaning showers after use but it was filthy and stunk, had to clean bucket and mop twice.
A small group of what could be classed as travellers arrived on site which caused concern amongst a few residents, people upset and stories circulating about what had happened previously. They were however polite, civil and well behaved during our stay.
Constructive- this was obviously a busy period for the site, cleaning schedules and litter picking could be perhaps be increased during these periods. Everyone we spoke to said it was a very nice quiet site usually but said it had changed for that weekend. Quite a few of the issues could be attributed to guests but this does reflect on the site.

Stayed here a couple of times now, good location for the beach and walks although the road can be a little noisy.
Very clean throughout and nice owners who can't do enough to please, even charging my mobile phone!
There's a good pub over the road serving food all day long, all you can eat breakfast for around a fiver!
Will be back to visit again

We have spent 3 nights at this site over the bank holiday weekend. It wasn't our first visit as we were at the site last October as well, but this time we were disappointed.
The increase in price and change to a 'Lyons holiday park' led us to believe we could expect enhanced facilities and stay. The facilities were clean (although 1 of the 3 showers was out of order, causing a queue) and the check in was efficient. However the mix of tents and caravans in the same area led to a lot of noise, both at night and first thing in the morning. Bearing in mind the list of rules we were given, TV's in tents were still playing loudly at 11. 30pm and again at 7. 30am. We have not experienced this level of noise on other sites.

Just had a bank holiday weekend at St Mary's and despite the weather being horrendeous ! we did have a lovely time ! We arrived on Friday night and was swiftly dealt with at reception and directed to our tent plot. We asked to be situated next to friends and this was kindly done for us. Nice site, not very big with clean toilets, washroom and a small playground. Close site to both nearby beaches and local to Prestatyn town centre. £84. 50 for 2 adults, 2 children under 5 and a six man tent for 3 nights. Only downfall was the site was next to a busy road and traffic could be heard day and night but all in all a well run and tidy campsite.
