Brilliant site. The farmer is a true gent gave info about walks comes to site with logs for fire pits.
We didn’t use the facilities but took a look and they were well maintained, clean and tidy.
We have an 8Mtr motorhome and found the access a bit tight at the bridge and access road, but well worth the effort.

I loved the site ray & wendy are great people, ray is so laid back he is horizontal he is so helpful, site is nice and clean nice hot showers, there is also two fridges and freezers, for you to put your own food in, they are on a trust basis ie you don’t take other peoples food.
Ray also sells a big bag of logs should you want a fire to sit around in the evening,
All in all a very nice site & at £7 per night very cheap I will be happy to recommend it to anyone.
I will be back
Ps he has a 5 berth caravan for hire & a shepherd’s hut for hire looks very nice and clean 😀

We love this place! The highlight has to be Ray! What a gem. So welcoming and friendly and someone you’ll never forget.
We had a wonderful time here. We camped alongside the river. If this is too loud for you then there’s plenty of space on the other side of the field where there are some electric hook-ups. For best evening sun then head towards the far end of the field or the right hand side.
Toilets and showers are kept clean. The showers are the best camp shower I’ve had!
Campfires are allowed which is a bonus. It’s a shame some people have made fires directly on the ground and scorched it. Not only that, they’ve made new fires about 1m away from an existing fire pit. Use common sense here guys! And mind the trees.
Plenty of walks to do direct from the campsite. The easiest is from Brendon to Lynmouth. A stunning walk along the river, about 4 miles each way. Add another mile (ish) to go to The Valley of the Rocks. For the more experienced walker, head from Brendon to Porlock (recommend The Ship for food), take a look Culbone Church, the smallest church in England! Coming back, take the coastal path back either to Lynmouth or leave the coastal path towards County Gate and drop back into Brendon. This is steep! Expect around 20 miles.
You can also walk from Brendon to Oare (starting on the Porlock path) which is nice, we were blessed to see a huge stag and Exmoor ponies. It’s steep again but lovely views. Take the road back to Brendon to make a circular walk (roads are quiet).
There’s also Brendon Common. Just remember you’re in a valley so it’s steep walking either side of the camp site.
The Stag Hunters Inn is well within walking distance. Food not bad. Big portions but heavy and stodgy and they like to use a lot of cheese. The Rockford is probably about 2 miles away(?). You can walk along the river to get there.
Nearest shops are in Lynton/Lynmouth so come prepared unless you don’t mind driving.
We will absolutely be returning here! Wish we could keep it secret 😁

I have visited this site before and loved it as much this time as I did before.
Ray, the owner is super welcoming and cannot do enough to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Leeford farm also happens to be one of the most beautiful places in England one can pitch a tent, light a camp fire and forget about the troubles of life.
A truly amazing place. Thank you Ray.

Lovely setting. Loos and showers reasonable. Nice and quiet. Ray as friendly and welcoming as always.
Only criticism is that there was no Track and Trace in operation which could easily be done when payment collected. That is quite dangerous in current times where facilities are communal for tent campers. To say that everything is “ at your own risk” is true but perhaps a bit irresponsible in the current climate with Covid?

Amazing place, the facilities were good and felt so welcome and amazing value for money. So easy going and laid back, as pay on the day and not tied into staying for set days.
It was my first proper camping holiday, also it was by far one of my best holidays ever.
Farmer Ray was lovely and very friendly. A beautiful and quiet spot with lots to do near by. Camping by the river was a wonderful experience and felt so calming.
I've been converted to Camping as previously apprehensive, but pleasantly surprised by some mod cons, such as hot showers freezer/fridge available to use, also washing facilities for cooking equipment.
Very much looking forward to visiting soon with the family. 😀😊

Set in a beautiful valley with lots of walks on Exmoor from the site. We can’t wait to go back.
Thank you!

Very quiet at start of stay, more people arrived at end but lots of room still. Just turn up and pitch.
No phone, no WiFi perfect!
Good walks, great local pubs. Owner Ray a real Gentleman,
Will definitely be back with grandchildren.

Thoroughly recommend! Excellent very relaxed and informal site. The showers and toilets were basic but very clean and lots of hot water.
Excellent setting alongside fast flowing rocky river. Owner very friendly and accommodating and happy for customers to light fires.
Lots of space and flexible approach to times of arrival and departure.
One thing missing which might be a bonus for some was any WiFi, mobile phone signal or data signal.
Word of caution - do not use access road to Brendon from the A39 at Wellfield (Porlock side) - I did and it is so narrow that the brambles scratched both sides of my van at the same time.
