Enjoyed stay and good facilities, field has good views of Porlock and the sea.
Would stay again for a longer stay.
No electricity but as long as you know before hand this is not a problem.

This site is in a very pleasant location, sheltered in a valley, on level ground that takes tent pegs readily. There are sections round the perimiter of the main field that allow electrical hook up for tents.
The facilities seem small for the size of the site, but we never had to wait to use the shower during our 5-night stay, although that was at the end of August/early September when the site was not very busy. It could easily take more than 10 times as many visitors, when it might be more of a problem.
As others have said the farmer is very friendly, helpful and chatty, and he is a pleasure to talk to.
The site is only accessible along narrow (although by Devon standards not all that narrow) roads. For a normal car this is not a problem, but it might be for large campervans or large towed caravans. However for us this slightly 'off-the-beaten-track' location was an attraction.
We would definitely consider coming back here again for a long weekend, or, better, midweek stay.

Spent a few days at this lovely campsite. It is set in a beautiful valley, next to the River Lyn, and is very relaxed, friendly and peaceful.
Just set your pitch and Ray, the owner, will be round to meet you before long. He's a lovely host.
The site is flat, electric hook ups if needed, and fire pits are allowed. The toilets and showers have recently been refitted so are very nice. There's a large washing up area, a freezer and fridge. No internet coverage at all, which was perfect.
The Staghunter pub is 5 minutes walk away, and is dog-friendly. Great real ale is served (we had Exmoor Gold and Quantock Pale Ale). Food is pub grub.
The walking from the site is superb. The walk down the river to Watersmeet is easy and beautiful, and you can easily reach the spectacular coastal path.
We'll be back.

Lovely site with no shop and almost no phone signal, perfect!
We spent a lovely couple of days here with our daughter and 3 year old twin granddaughters and dog. It was so simple and laid back, the girls had a great time just playing in the field and loved watching the fire on the evening snuggled up with their Mum, none of us wanted to go home.
Lovely farmer Ray collected pitch rent and bought round logs at very competitive prices.
Toilets and showers are perfect for us but not pristine. The washing up area is great too.
The site has everything you need for back to basics camping.
We will be back asap.

We have been coming to this camp site for around 10 now and it is amazing, so peaceful and relaxing. Farmer Ray and his wife Wendy are extremely lovely people. The toilets/showers are always well kept and the block also contains a large freezer, fridge and microwave. We will be returning for many more years to come.

What a fabulous site!
Beautiful valley, so peaceful, and perfect if you have kids who like to get back to basics and play in the river (no wifi. Yay!)
Ray is the perfect host, and spent time chatting to campers, making us feel very welcome. A short walk to the village pub made for a lovely end to an evening, and the showers/toilets were basic but suitable!
Beware if you're in a motorhome and following the satnav as one of the roads in from the top of the moor is very steep with hairpins! Would never get down with a caravan!
If we're ever down in the area again, would definitely return! Thanks Ray and hope you have a great summer season

We have just spent a brilliant week here! This campsite is set in absolutely beautiful surroundings, there are plenty of walks around. I would recommend the coastal walk into Lynmouth & Lynton (although there are some very steep hills to walk up and you have to have a good head for heights), the views are stunning! Also a lovely walk to watersmeet, which is much flatter along the river.
The owners Ray and Wendy are both lovely, very welcoming, full of knowledge of the local area, and anything you need they are on hand.
The site is very relaxed, there is no reception, so its a matter of getting set up and settled in and Ray will be along to greet you. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and tidy, although only 2 showers we didn't have to queue up. In the evening you can have a camp fire, which is just lovely under a full sky of stars!

Stumbled on this campsite by accident, what a great little set up, with camp tables around the site, we pitched tent, then owners arrived and we had a great old laugh and chat about sport in general, seeing we were both Kiwi and Australian. Nice quiet rural location in a sheltered valley, , with small stream running along the perimeter, nice flat pitch, and camp site all to ourselves. All basic 2 x toilets and 2 x shower amenities but all worked well, small wash up area with microwave, fridge and frezzer. Small hotel just a walk down the road. 12 pound for the night which was very reasonable, great couple of blokes.

Wow!
What a laid back proper camping and caravan site this is in the most beautiful part of Devon I've been to.
Farmer Ray Floydd is the friendliest site owner I know. He comes around with his little log truck. He chats to all his campers and Wendy, his wife keeps the loos and showers nice and clean. Down to earth facilities not posh but 6 loos and 2 showers (a couple more showers would be good) in wooden huts and a portocabin.
Soap and towels, 2 big dishwashing sinks, a freezer and microwave provided all under cover.
If you want clipped lawns and hard standing this is not the site for you, but if you want electric hookup, a camp fire, relaxed atmosphere with room for the children to play in a beautiful wooded riverside location with friendly farmer Ray, this is the site for you.
