Simply perfect!
Arrived around midday. It’s a large site and you choose where you want to pitch up. No pre booking required. By the river or closer to the hillside. Electric hook up available.
Basic, clean shower, toilets and washing up areas. Chemical waste and grey water disposal areas. Plenty of bins for recycling. Water taps in each field area.
The owner is a local farmer who will be around sometime during the day to collect payment, have a chat and sell you a bag of logs if you want to have a camp fire. It’s all very laid back.
Two pubs a short walk away. The Staghunters is a 20min walk. Good honest pub food and selection of beers. Outside seating next to the river. The Rockford Inn is about a 30min walk further down the quiet lanes.
The site has very poor mobile signal and no tv reception so listen to the radio and read a book. Nice walks close by and short drives to Linton, Lynmouth and on to the moor itself.
A fantastic relaxing stay!

Absolutely amazing for all. My family come every year and have fallen in love with the camp.
It's a calming and fun environment.
Facilities are always clean 👌 you literally don't need anything else's. And of course you can have fires which is a massive plus.
I can't rate this place enough. And the farmer is so friendly and will happy have a chat 😀 and if needed sell you some wood at a reasonable price 😀

Beautiful site with stunning surroundings.
Basic toilet and shower blocks but literally everything you need. We were welcomed by the site owner, Ray, who was very welcoming.
The site is right on the river so perfect for adventures, paddling and swinging! The dog also loved it!
Not so great if you have a string willed child who wouldn't be safe but our 4 year old was in his element
