Visited following recommendation from a friend.
In all the years that I have been visiting Padstow I have been oblivious to the existence of this wonderful little site.
Spent 2 very pleasant nights there in early July. Simon (owner) was pleasant and accommodating from the outset, even allowing me to utilise his wi-fi connection (which we could connect to due to our close proximity to the site office).
The toilets/showers were plentiful and immaculately clean, as were all the other facilities. My only criticism being that given the cost of the pitch ie. £24p/n I feel the showers should be free - but hey-ho!
Its close proximity to Padstow is the big plus for Dennis Cove - being only a leisurely 10 minute stroll - they don't get any closer!
Unfortunately the weather was atrocious during our visit, however this did not detract from the overall experience.
Would strongly recommend and will return!

We have just stayed at Dennis Cove campsite & had a great experience.
The location is exceptional - 10-15 minutes easy stroll in to Padstow. Roomy pitches - we had plenty space for our large tent & car. Good facilities - sinks for washing up the pots with hot water on tap, showers*, sinks, loos and sockets for hair dryers etc and plenty of mirrors to see how rough you look first thing
*Showers require a token from reception @ 40p a pop - showers last 5 minutes which is plenty time if you don't faff around. Tip: strip off and get all your bottles out etc ready before sticking your token in the meter - which is outside the cubicle itself - then nip back in to start the shower immediately.
After weeks & weeks of rain the grass was all very soft so care with moving cars around required - but luckily for us 'the jet stream' that caused all the miserable weather finally moved and we got some awesome weather
My only negative gripe is that we had a family with a yappy mutt that went for it early and late a couple of times. Typically the owners find that cute. I don't.
Owners very pleasant & friendly - at reception office during manned periods (9-11am and 5-7pm). If you arrive outside of those times there is a list outside to show which plot you've been allocated.
Ice blocks for hire to keep your butter hard.
Padstow is fantastic - we spent a lot of our time down there rather than on site. The harbour is a hive of activity on a sunny day, lots of nice shops to mooch in and great restaurants, pubs & cafes to try.
Hop on the ferry to Rock (£3 return) and enjoy walk along beach to Polzeath.
Bike route Padstow > Wadebridge is flat & easy. About 5 miles or so. Wadebridge itself is quite a nice wee town.
We drove to St Ives for a day out - approx 1 hour. Worth a visit for sure. Also went to Bedruthan steps - stunning coastal scenery and a lovely coastal walk if you want to stretch the legs.
Plenty of beaches to choose from nearby but we went to Trevone Bay which was lovely. Nice cafe there where we had a tasty evening meal.
This was our main holiday for the year and our 1st 1 week camping expedition - no regrets at all!

Just got back from a weekend at Dennis Cove, very well run little site. Staff friendly and manager was out cutting the pitches constantly. Bins never overflowing and showers and toilets very clean - what more could you want
Great views, easy walk into Padstow and a Tescos within walking distance. Pitches good size, easily fitted our 4m by 8m tent. And yes the Rick Stein fish and chips is well worth forking out and queuing up for! Padstow is surrounded by great walks and bike trails.
Also enough nice shops to keep me happy and Rick Stein's seafood restaurant was excellent - also worth going to his pub at St Merryn - the Cornish Arms - great prawns and beer!

Stayed for a couple of days with awful weather! The site was clean and quiet. The ground was firm for the van, even with all the rain we had.
The manager of the site was friendly and helpful. Plenty of hot water for washing and washing up. Small charge for shower was no problem.
The site is very convenient for Padstow - 10 minutes walk along the coast. Also 5 minutes to the Camel Trail.
There is a Tesco at the top of the hill if you need provisions. Food shops in Padstow were rather basic with no ready meals. Great stay.

We stayed at Dennis Cove over a Easter weekend. We thought it might be very busy. We found the site to be peaceful and very quite particularly after 8pm ish.
The whole feel of this site is very nice and relaxed. The pitches are more than big enough. There are plenty of showers, with the option of single sex, family or multi use and very clean. The toilet block is very clean to.
This site is a short walk, 10/12 mins into Padstow and 2 mins onto the camel trail. It has a nice rural feel to it.
All in all a nice stay that I recommend and would return to.

This site is ideally located and is a short ten minute walk into coastal town of Padstow along the Camel trail which is the former railway line into the town.
The site is located at the end of a steep narrow lane which can be a bit hairy in a motorhome if you meet a vehicle coming the other way.
The toilet and washing facilities are very good, although the number of pitches with electricity is very limited. Having to pay extra for showers, with tokens from reception, was a minor irritation.

Awesome site! Great views over the estuary and fab facilities. We booked that day and they said to come on down, great considering it was August.
We were on the top field which is a bit hilly but it certainly pays off for the view and space around the tents.
Great for visiting Padstow and saves on the steep parking charges and you are the right side of town to pick up the infamous Stein fish and chips on the way home.
The Camel Trail is well worth a trip and Wadebridge was a nice surprise.
Clean facilities throughout and lovely staff - waiting to go back.

Facilities, great, staff helpful. Only cost £2 more than a rubbish site we had been in Bideford the night before. Close to Padstowe.
Thought that having to buy tokens for the shower was a bit unnecessary, but overall no complaints. Met the manager/owner a couple of time, he was very knowledgeable about the local bird/wildlife.
Def a site I would recommend, & shall use again. Very close to the start of the Camel Trial, which was why I used it.
It is popular, & you probably need to book during the busy season.

It's a smashing site. Very peaceful (or would have been if we didn't have the noisiest family in the world camping next to us who insisted in speaking to each other in just the loudest voices imaginable starting from 6am and were still at it at midnight!)
Toilet and shower block was clean. Staff were friendly. The site is in a smashing spot within walking distance of the town (although we got a cab back up of an evening).
We had booked but the site was full and our pitch wasn't ready for us when we arrived (my fault, I hadn't checked the arrival policy).
Padstow is nice. Although there wasn't a reasonably priced restaurant or pub meal to be had! All prices were the same everywhere (except Rick Stein's places which were even more expensive). Saying that though, we had breakfast every day in his chippy on the harbour front which was good value.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay here.

I have nothing but praise for the owners, twice now they have accommodated me when I've turned up out of the blue. Last week, July 2011; I asked if it was possible to camp for one night, leave my car for the second night whilst I cycled to Mevagissey and camp again on my return.
This wasn't possible as they could only give me one night's pitch. Anyway, I was given the pitch for a hikers rate of £13 per night, this is about normal in Devon/Cornwall. The owner did tell me the best place to park for free in Padstow, for the night I was away and to check back on my return to see if there were any spaces available.
On my return, I was offered a pitch in the top field for £13 again. The site facilities are very good and the toilet block is always clean. 40p for a shower is very reasonable and it lasted long enough to have a decent shower.
