Excellent site, having good weather helped. As previously mentioned the facilities are basic but were always clean. It is a 10 minute walk into Padstow and it is off the main road.
The fellow campers moaned Rick Steins chippy (size of portions/value for money, not) so we went into town and had wonderful fish & chips at Chips Ahuoy!, they have a couple of tables outside (which RS doesnt) which was good as we have two dogs with us. We also had a pizza meal delivered on site from the local Italian, think it was call Rojanos, not cheap but excellent quality food and service. Went on the ferry to Rock £3 return for adults and dogs free, there are brilliant beaches on both sides of the estuary and dogs are allowed on which is a bonus for us.
The site isnt the cheapest we have stayed at, but when you weigh up the fact that you can walk into Padstow, that saves on parking, and driving, it is value for money. The walk up to the monument on the hill good, just be aware of the horses in the field, but the veiws are wonderful.
Mr Zeal is very friendly and helpful and we would definitely visit again. There is a need to book early, it is very popular. There are only 5 ehu pitches, 2 are immediately outside reception and always seemed to have motorhomes on them, the other 3 are on the next field which is fairly level, I would recommend pitch 5. 4 is next to the water tap and bins, so you have campers walking past all the time, 6 is in a corner and under trees, we had the sunshine in the afternoon and early evening, only going behind the trees by about 6.30pm in June.
The camping field is on a slight slope, we heard people complain about the walk to the shower block and even seen people driving down which is just , well each to there own. A gem of a site, its now stored in our favourites.

Don't know what all the fuss is about regarding the showers. Yes, it costs 40p but the token lasts well over 5 minutes and in fact a lot longer than you would spend in the shower at home! The toilet and shower blocks are immaculately clean.
The site is very conveniently near Padstow - a short walk along the Camel Trail into town. We took our 8 month old baby with us camping for the first time and it was a very pleasant experience. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and there is plenty to do on the doorstep without having to drive anywhere.
We recommend a walk up to the monument - the views are stunning. Watch out for the wild horses in the field if they are still there - they were very frisky and chased our dog whilst on the lead which was pretty scary!

We stayed here for 2 days in April 2009, over the Easter period.
The first day was lovely weather and the site was very tranquil with the sound of birds etc. The facilities are basic, but adequate (no shop/bar etc). There are showers in the main toilet block which are a little dated, and you have to pay 40p for a hot water token (which lasts approx 3-5 minutes), but they were very clean.
It rained on our second day, and the field become a little water-logged and muddy. The owner was extremely friendly (even lent us his umbrella!), and was doing everything he could to help the situation (moving entrance gate to the field etc).
Site is in a great location, and only a 10 minute walk into Padstow.

We stayed one night in this campsite as part of a coastal tour. The location was very convenient with the town centre only 10 minutes walk away.
The facilities were basic as mentioned but not anything to complain about other than the charges for the showers!
However, the pitch was just 'ok'. The ground was good but we were right beside the entrance road where the tents around us seemed pretty close. There were people too lazy to walk to the washing facilities and decided they'd drive up and down the campsite, both morning and evening. During the rest of the day we had vehicles coming and going on day trips so we tried to spend as much time in town as possible. With this and the crying babies in our neighbouring tents, it certainly wasn't a tranquil stay.
We did only stay 2 nights, so perhaps we were in some kind of short stay area. I recommend this campsite for families, but for couples in a similar situation to us, there's probably better places to pitch for a night or two.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of July. I think we were lucky with out pitch for our campervan, one of the two immediately in front of reception because if you are up at the far end of the big camping field it's quite a trek to the toilet and shower block. Anyway, our pitch was really spacious and the owners couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.
It was wonderful not to have to use the campervan, we cycled or walked into Padstow, the only time we moved the van the whole time we were at this site was to pop up the road to the supermarket one day. Padstow was very busy (it was the start of the summer holiday) so it was lovely to be able to go into town to eat etc. Without having to worry about parking.
We have dogs so were told about the walk up the field to the monument - if anyone goes to this site, dogs or no dogs, they really should walk up the path to the top, the view from the monument is absolutely stunning, one of the best I've ever seen. It amazed me how few people seemed to make this walk when such a spectacular view was only a few hundred yards away.
The toilet block was fine, a bit dated possibly but perfectly adequate (it is a campsite after all) - I just think it's a bit mean to charge 40p a token for showers that aren't that good, especially as the campsite fees themself are reasonable for the area, but not that cheap. Just a small gripe (one I have with any campsite that charges extra for showers really).
We would definitely return to this campsite, outside main holiday periods when the Camel Trail will be less busy with cyclists, hopefully. So, fab location, lovely owners, decent facilities, beautiful area - ideal.

Lovely site well kept, good facilities - has a utility and food prep area as well as clean toilets and showers.
The site owners are lovely and welcoming.
A walk across the fields takes you into Padstow which is an absolutely picture postcard resort.
The Rick Stein fish and chip shop is out of this world - why put your name down for the restaurant when you can have fish & chips like these.
We had a lovely time.

We have just had a one week break at the campsite visiting with friends and family who also pitched along side us for one week and three nights respectively.
We loved the location of the site, the basic facilities [toilet blocks, showers and washing up area – what more would a camper want?] The 10 minute walk into Padstow was picturesque and the Camel Trail a real bonus, even if you forget to take your bikes they are readily available to hire just short walk away from the site. The superstore up the road provided much of the essential needs, but with the cafes and restaurants in Padstow you have plenty of variety.
We certainly intend to return next year.
Very peaceful and relaxing.

Been to several campsites around Devon and Cornwall, and this has to be one of the best. Not too expensive, the only let-down was that the showers where token-operated. Close to town, easy to find,an all-round good campsite.

This will be the 4th year that we have been to Dennis cove, we go same week each year and havn't had a bad year yet. Yes the showers and toilets are basic but remember people this is camping ! !
The site has what you need and what it doesnt have is only a 10 min walk. We look forward to our holiday again in a few weeks time. See you soon simon .

We've just come back from our camping holiday at Dennis Cove camping site at Padstow. The site was small, very clean with the basic amenities required for camping. The proprietors were very friendly and accommodating. The views were amazing and the site it's self was very relaxing. It is also just a ten minute walk along the coast to Padstow. The site was also very central for sight seeing Cornwall. We would go back there again. For those of you with dogs the site and Padstow are very dog friendly.
