I stayed at this campsite for 2 nights and thought the location was fabulous but the campsite facilities were very basic. The showers were pathetic and worse still you had to pay for them! It cost my girlfriend £1.20 to have shower long enough to wash her hair and the water pressure was so low that you had to run around to to get wet! The toilet block could really do with an update! Padstow itself is fantastic and the beaches and surrounding area are well worth a visit.

Just back from our first stay at this site, a long weekend at the begining of May. We chose this site because of the good reviews on this web site and we werent disappointed.
Concerns about the slope proved to be unfounded, instead we found the pitches to be in first class condition with the grass being reguarly trimmed and plenty big enough for our large dome tent and car.

All washing facilities were spotless and freshly painted for the season and there seemed to be plenty of them for the size of the site, which was full. The views were amazing and we would risk a more sloping pitch next time at the top of the site to take in the even better view from that point. The ten min walk into Padstow really was ten mins and very pleasant. We will be back and intend to bring bikes next time to take advantage of the cycle trail. Very nearly a perfect site and highly recommended

Thought the site was a bit exspensive for the facilities we paid £18 for one night. Motorhome, electric and small dog.
Shower and toilets were very clean but very basic and tokens in operation for a shower which having paid £18 for a pitch was a bit much we thought. Friendly owners and superb location for walking into Padstow.

This site has an excellent feel to it. Location is superb - near the Camel Estuary, and about 10mins walk from Padstow along the river (so no cars).

Showers are always clean, but require tokens. There are larger shower cubicles for family use which is good. Generally a quiet site, but on Friday we had some noisy neighbours - no fault of the campsite owner, and he had a word with them the following day on our (and others) request.

Pitches are flat near the shower block, but on an increasingly steeper slope as you get further into the site so ask for a spot nearer the showers if possible.

No shop onsite, but a useful Tescos about 5mins drive away (up a steep hill so wouldn't want to walk it!).

Have been returning every year due to the location, and quietness of the site. A good base for Polzeath (without the rowdy surf crowd) and for Padstow in the evenings.

Our first stay, and very positive. Lovely clean site, friendly owner, dog and lots of swifts and swallows to keep us company. Pitch was perfect size, and well cared for. Walk in to Padstow is perfect, so good to walk through the busy car park with no worries about parking! Will def. Look to visit again!

Spent a very wet week here during the first week of the Summer Holiday.

Even in the wet this site was great. Simon, the proprietor was doing everything he could to keep the pitches in order and the washroom and toilets were always immaculately clean.

We would definitely recommend this site. Without the rain, cloud and howling wind of a UK summer there would be lovely views of the estuary and plenty of space on each pitch to spread out and relax.

Padstow and the Camel trail are well worth a visit. There isn't a better site in this area for facilities and proximity to Padstow.
We will be going there again next year.

What a lovely quiet site very clean and tidy nice size pitches ,good showers and toilets very clean. Nice campsite first time stay, very helpful manager. Tescos at top of hill handy for top up supplies also petrol station nearby. Handy for trips out, loads of nice walks and cycling trails. Padstow harbour nearby. Try jubilee queen boat - trip saw dolphins a must for kids if lucky to see them. Nice shops at padstow harbour nice views. Would go to site again no problems

This is a lovely site, with beautiful views across the Camel Estuary. The owner, Simon, is very helpful and approachable, and it's clear he cares about the site, which has a well-maintained shower/loo block and 3 or 4 under cover sinks for washing up.
Pitches are slightly sloping. We recommend trying to get one to the top of the larger field as it offers the best views- even if it means a long downhill walk to the facilities. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, and the only problem was that pitches, although generous, were very close together, which meant privacy was a little bit compromised when the site became very busy on the Saturday evening.
Being right at the beginning of the Camel trail, the site is ideal for walking or hiring a bike from the numerous hire places. The ride along the trail is beautiful as it goes from estuary to fast flowing river, and there is an abundance of wildlife to see, as well as the Camel Valley Vineyard, which has the most amazing wine. Don't be put off by it being English.it really is good.
Padstow quayside is only a 10-minute walk away and the town centre is compact with nice pubs and restaurants. All-in-all a very nice place to say and highly recommended. We hope to return.

This site is perfectly positioned for a holiday in the Padstow area - if you are looking for a quiet, clean and friendly site then I doubt if you'll find better in the area.
The pitches are level and kept scrupulously clean - as are the amenities. This is a genuinely dog-friendly site, with great dog exercise facilities . And complete with its own friendly dogs ;o)
The site actually sits astride the Saints Way, so from the site you can walk out and around around Little Petherick Creek for an exhilarating trek with breathtaking views. The Victoria Monument above the site is a few yards from this path and provides panoramic views of Padstow, Rock and Petherick Creek. Walk in the opposite direction and you quickly find yourself in Padstow - so the car stays unused while you snigger at the queues of Motorists trying to grab Pay and Display parking slots ;o) Finally, the Camel trail runs just below the site and there are plenty of bike-hire shops just minutes from the site if you haven't brought your own.
The site is efficiently and unobtrusively managed and kept spotlessly clean. A friendly welcome on arrival and plenty of helpful advice if you seek it - or quiet enjoyment if that's what you want. Perfect :o)

Stayed here for a weekend and just got back. The site is lovely, quiet & clean with friendly helpful staff.
On arrival you'll see the site on quite a steep hill but don't get dis-heartened the pitches are strangely fairly flat ! The pitches are well marked and nice and large.
Our friends went with their camper van and a pup tent for their 17 year old daughter ~ there was no fee for a pup tent and had to be charged as a "Hiker with tent" which made their stay a little on the pricey side especially as the middle of May is classed as Peak Season.
A dog waste bin would be nice to see as you pay £2 a night for your dog to be there however saying that there was no dog mess to be seen on the ground.
We had a great weekend and walked easily (with a 6 year old too) on both days into the town, the site is well worth a visit and we will go back. 7.5  out of 10 !
