Just got back from a weekend away staying at this site for one night. Although it was a bit on the pricer side you are paying for the convenience of staying so close to town (10 minute walk).
The campsite was clean and tidy and very quite at night. Pitches were nice and wide and the whole campsite had a lovely view of the sea.
Would be very happy to spend longer here although I would agree with others that there is not a lot of room for children to play considering it is sold as a family camp site.

This campsite is fantastic! It is only a 10 minute walk into padstow which is a lovely town all though can be very busy.
If you like Padstow its handy staying here as you don't have to drive into Padstow and try and find a space as they are very limited.
You are a few minutes cycle to the camel trail and if you don't take your own bikes their is a cycle hire shop 5 mins away. Lots of lovely beaches 10 mins away in the car, which are great for body boarding.
Facilities are spotless plenty of Showers, Washing up sinks and loos! You need tokens for the showers but these are always hot.
We have booked for next year it is that good :)

After making our way down the tight little road we just loved it here - straight on the Camel Trail for biking or walking.
It is set in a little sloping valley - some of the higher pitches have great estuary views - we were on the little flat field nicely fenced.
Very clean school like facilities, with loads of toilets. The showers out by the wash facilities were best - you have to remember to buy tokens.
Washing up sinks have cold water but they have one hot tap there too. A lovely walk straight from site to high on the hill near site for fantastic views.
Walk into town ten minutes - but Padstow very busy and we loved getting back to the quiet of the site.

Just returned from this site after a weeks holiday and had a fab time there. It is very well situated for Padstow town and The Camel Trail.
The site itself is very clean and tidy and I really couldn't fault the people in reception as they were very helpful and friendly.
The only things I would be negative about is the fact that the pitch fees are very high for what you get. We paid £27.50 per night for a family of 4 and a dog with no electric and for a site with nothing on that is an awful lot of money.
I also wasn't very impressed that after spending such a lot of money on the holiday we then had to spend 40p each person on shower tokens for a 5 minute shower which is fine but that's £1.60 per day on top of pitch fees.
Overall, good site, very clean but far to expensive for what is offered. Glad we went and had a lovely time but wont be returning unless pitch fees change.

Really good location to this site, as per other reviews this site has good facilities and is well kept.
The walk into Padstow is about 10 minutes and you can then fall into Gastro heaven with Rick Steins Restaurant, fish and chips and various other establishments.
The top hill has panoramic views but make sure your handbrake works if your in a car as its pretty steep.
Will be back next year.

Spent a week under canvas last June and were made to feel very welcome. Site has good toilets and shower facilities, chemical dump and sheltered washing up facilities. Some electric hook ups for tents or caravans. Our pitch was level and our dogs were welcome. Site is clean and well kept. Lovely walks around straight from site.I'm a slow walker ant the camel trail is only 5 mins away. Centre of Padstow is probably another 10 minutes max walk along the flat trail and river camel. Recommend the site. Only downside is you can only use sites own freezer packs at 50p a pack. Will definitely return.

We spent 2 nights here in June as a rare treat for our wedding anniversary and found this site to be wonderful, the glorious weather helped.
The site itself is very well kept and the facilities are clean and tidy. The showers were excellent and I did not mind paying 40p for the shower. However there did not appear to be much for young children to do on site, and there wasn't much open space for them to play.
The walk into Padstow along the estuary was very picturesque and Padstow itself was very relaxing, sitting by the side of the harbour with a glass of wine was pure bliss away from the children.
We would definitely go back and I would recommend this campsite for a nice quiet weekend away.

We spent 4 nights at Dennis Cove at the end of June/ beginning of July, but have stayed here many times since 2003.
It is definitely our site of choice when visiting Padstow and one of the best things about it is its location – it feels quite secluded but an easy 10 minute stroll along the Camel Trail takes you right into the town. It is the nearest site to the town and a bonus to be able to walk, thereby avoiding the generally hideous parking situation in Padstow itself.
The site is quite basic but very well maintained. The toilet/shower block is slightly dated but more than adequate and is kept very clean. There are plenty of toilets, basins and several showers including a couple of larger family ones located outside the main block. The showers require a 40p token for about 5 minutes. There are also electric power points available in the main block for hairdryers, phone charging etc and a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. There is a hot tap outside next to 3 or 4 under cover sinks with cold water for washing up.
The grass pitches are well marked and a decent size. The pitches in the upper field have lovely views over the Camel Estuary but are on a slope. Some of the pitches in the lower field, nearest the showers, have EHU and are flat; the trade off being that you don't get the same views as from the upper field. The site has a nice feel, being surrounded by trees and fields. It is fairly small and very quiet and relaxing.
There is no shop, bar or play area on site but given the proximity of Padstow and the fact there is a Tesco very close by this doesn't seem to pose a problem. You can hire ice blocks from reception and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
At £16.50 a night for 2 adults, car and tent I feel this site represents good value and is one of the cheaper sites in Cornwall, particularly given its convenient location.
Padstow itself is a lovely harbour town with plenty to do within walking distance – bike hire for the Camel Trail, boat trips, sea fishing, beautiful sandy beaches and walks on the South West Coast path (walk out to Stepper Point or further afield to Harlyn and beyond). There is also a footpath from the site up to Dennis Hill where there is an obelisk built in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria's golden jubilee & some stunning views. The Lobster Hatchery is worth a visit, as is Prideaux Place (they do a lovely big cream tea).
Padstow (Padstein) is a foodie heaven. Rick Stein's fish and chip shop is definitely worth the queue; consistently some of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. There is a great fish mongers in case you want something to throw on the BBQ - the mackerel we had were so fresh they were almost still alive. The Cornish Arms (Rick Stein's pub in St Merryn) does really good pub grub and is only 2 miles out of town. There are some great traditional pubs in padstow itself, particularly The London Inn where we happily whiled away a rainy afternoon/ evening!
Within a short drive you will find Bedruthen steps (amazing cliff views and a secluded beach with giant rock formations), Tintagel, Camel Valley Vineyard (tours and cellar door sales, lovely English sparkling wine!) & Polzeath with its cool surf beach.
Overall it's a very pleasant site in a lovely part of North Cornwall. But a word of warning - it can get very busy at peak times and Padstow itself can get a bit crazy so we tend to avoid it then. Otherwise it is quiet and relaxing – a great little site.

An excellent site in a wonderful location. Ten minutes easy walk into Padstow, which saves a fortune on car parking in town.
We found the facilities very good - clean toilet block and ample showers (40p token for each shower). I never once had to queue for a shower, despite it being half term and the site being completely full.
The pitches are well marked and of good size, and everything is very neat and tidy. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the charges very reasonable.
Highly recommended.

Do not try to access the campsite before 2:00pm, because if there is a unit leaving the site you are going to have a real problem on the steep single track lane. If you don`t know about this or forget, expect a stern reminder from the owner.
Another point, do not turn left to park at reception if you are towing a caravan, unless you are good at reversing and hill starts. Turn right, park and walk to back reception.
There are only 5 pitches with electric.
Camping is in a sloping field with a fair walk to the facilities.
The potwash sinks are served by a separate 'midly' hot tap, whereby you transfer the water over to the sinks.
There are no hand drying facilities in the toilets.
Showers are 40 pence.
Any noise a night is a no no.
The positive is the accessibility to Padstow (15 mins walk) and the Camel trail.
Definitely try the oysters and crabs at the seafood place just befor you get to Rick Steins Fish and Chip Shop.
