Fantastic location on a working farm.

There are great walks surrounding the campsite and some lovely local villages.

Facilities are a little basic but this is what we were expecting of a working farm.

Fantastic site in a fantastic location. Large field with stunning views which have around 8 x picnic benches dotted about. Male and female toilets, tap and bins at bottom of field.

Just down the hill towards the farm are more toilets with shower and freezer selling local ice cream. There's also maps and leaflets for local attractions.

You will struggle to find a site as good as this for the price at £5 per night

This is a basic campsite in a beautiful rural setting. It's peaceful (if you can ignore the active wildlife and farm animals) and there are some fantastic walks nearby. The booking process was simple and the owners are very relaxed about when they take payment. And it's really cheap - £13 for a family of four!

However, the facilities are very basic and a bit minging, to the point where there aren't locks on toilet and shower doors and there were some dubious puddles of liquid everywhere. Also I had no idea if there was a pot washing facility as I couldn't find one anywhere. Luckily we were only staying for one night, so we just took it all home and washed it there.

The other downside is the field is on a real slope. We struggled to find anywhere vaguely level enough for our tent, and ended up sliding everywhere when we were in our sleeping bags.

But camping isn't supposed to be luxury, and we had a great time with the friends we went with. There was lots of space to play football in the field without annoying other campers (I hope).

I don't think it's a place we'll return to, but there's nothing massively wrong with the site. It just isn't in our top 10!

Lovely campsite, great for kids, we walked to thors cave from the site which was amazing and a beautiful walk.

Picnic tables out on the site which helped as we didn't bring a table.

Gill the owner was a lovely lady.

Thanks for our stay we will be back 😊

Beautiful views, basic site buts that all we wanted.

Owners are lovely people and let you get on with it.

Children were safe and really happy! I would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

They also have a separate field for younger groups!

Brilliant location for walking and amazing views from the campsite.

The ground is a little uneven in places for pitching a tent but there are some level spots.

Facilities basic but clean and functional.

The staff on the farm were very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at this campsite second time: amazing views, farm exploration ( the kids got to feed donkeys, cows and chickens)

Good location for hiking.

Owner is very friendly and helpful.

Toilets and shower are looked after.

Definitely will be coming back again.

 Good points

Fantastic views, lovely walks around the area, nice pub in next village you can walk to if you are prepared to walk back through fields.

Can purchase fresh eggs and borrow fire pits.

Neutral points

It is a working farm so if you don't like a cock waking you up early, dogs, chickens, ducks etc running free it's not for you.

Lots of heavy farm machinery, especially near toilet block.

As it is a working farm campers are not the main focus.

Negative points

Ground stony by EHU so difficult to get pegs in and need plenty of padding or a bed to lie on.

Ground uneven so difficult to find flat area for tent.

EHU points are on very small piece of land and in same part as son's caravan.

Toilets basic and not especially clean, block is sectioned off part of barn.

Third toilet is right by washing up sinks with gap above and below toilet door so extremely unhygenic for washing up.

Only one shower, hole above shower as also in sectioned off barn area.

Shower not tiled, just breeze block walls which cannot be cleaned properly, so again totally unhygenic.

Long walk to toilet block through farm

Not enough showers for amount of people on site.

Paper towels to dry hands ran out on first day and were still empty 3 days later.

No formal booking system, make sure you keep e-mails as proof of booking and agreed prices.

Gill was very welcoming and kindly suggested the local pub which is indeed lovely, along lovely footpaths through beautiful fields full of sheep and cows. Very enjoyable walk.

The site is in a beautiful location, the facilities are as others mention basic but effective, the value is simply unbeatable.

The pitches are on an incline so worth taking chocks if in a van.

Will go again if I'm in the area without a doubt.

Decent set up and helpful staff.

Warning about noise after 10:30, was ignored by a selfish group of individuals who were making a racket till 1 am. This should have been dealt with by site staff.
