Fantastic location looking across and down to Porthmeor beach. Short but steep 10 minute walk down into St Ives town. Friendly staff. Best place to camp in St Ives, but expensive. You pay for the anazing location.

What a view !
Amazing location. Pleasant stroll along the coastal path into town.
Shower block was spacious and clean, and the radio was a great touch.
Playground for kids was fab - they loved the zip wire.
No shop on site but not really needed.
Went to a great restaurant overlooking turquoise sea on Porth beach, and the beach bar further along was great for the kids to play ta our feet while we had a local cider.

Fantastic site, great location, great facilities.
Very clean and tidy toilets and showers and stunning views across Porthmeor beach and the island with St Nicholas church.
My only gripe with the site is we saw some tents being pitched on hard standing gravel pitches and then caravans on grass pitches. Surely it makes sense to be the other way round?

Just returned from a week at the touring park here and it was lovely. We had a good pitch with stunning views of the coastline, Portmeor beach, the island and the Tate St. Ives, it couldn't have been any better. The showers, toilets etc are very modern, spotlessly clean and plenty of hot water at all times. The ladies responsible for the cleaning are chatty, friendly and a credit to Ayr Holiday Park! Yes it is a hilly walk into town whichever way you go, but it's perfectly manageable if you take your time and you can always get the bus if necessary. Although not applicable to us the play area had a lot going for it and was popular with the children on the site. Used the launderette too which was efficient and not bad value. For such a large camping area with people coming and going all the time, it was never noisy or troublesome, just lots of likeminded people enjoying the scenery and walks. St. Ives itself is very quaint but very busy even at this time of the year, many choices for eating and drinking, had tapas at No. 57 Fore Street, faultless service, fantastic food and very friendly staff, you can even take the dogs in with you! All in all, a fantastic holiday!

A wonderful site with the best views we've ever had - up high looking down on St. Ives, a beach and glorious sea. The view alone was worth the expensive pitch fees.
Fully serviced pitch with a picnic table and free WiFi with a good signal even in a far corner of the site. We even got an excellent TV picture from our basic Status aerial.
Excellent toilet block although you had to wait a minute or 2 for the hot water to come through on the showers. Probably the best play area on a campsite we've ever come across - it has a zip wire!
Beautiful coastal walk into St Ives takes no time at all, although a little hilly on the return - good exercise!
Lack of shop on site is a downside but you do have free use of a small indoor pool at the hotel next to the site, which was very useful on the day it rained, especially as it has a cafe you can sit in if you don't want to swim.
The delights of Cornwall are well known, although very weather dependent. We had gale force winds a couple of nights and our poor little porch awning took a real battering but survived. Lots of beautiful walks in the area and St Ives, although a little tacky in places and very busy even at Easter, has a huge choice of shops and restaurants to choose from.
Highly recommended!

We went here simply because we wanted to be close to St Ives town in order to be within a close walk of the restaurants. We normally stay on small sites and avoid large holiday parks like this because they often cater solely for the mobile homes which are sited there and the camping areas are in the worst parts of the site with poor facilities. However, this was a real surprise because after passing the rather unwelcoming looking approach and entrance and driving through the rows of mobile homes you arrive at the motorhome and caravan area which is superb. Set on terraces with magnificent views over the town, the beach and the sea, the pitches have hard standing with individual water, electricity and waste-water disposal points. The showers and toilets were immaculate and very modern with lots of hot water. It's just a few minutes' walk to the coast path and 10 minutes to the centre of the town. It is relatively expensive but worth the extra for the views, the closeness to the town and the quality of the facilities.

We stay at this beautiful site every year for Christmas, or rather we did!
The site itself is immaculate, great hard standing super pitches for caravans and motorhomes or a choice of grass if preferred, all with EHU, water and waste, a picnic table, free wi-fi and some of the best views in the UK (overlooking St Ives Bay). Toilets and showers very clean (although there didn't seem to be cleaners around on Christmas Day or Boxing Day this year?).
A short walk from the site (either along the coast path or down the road, via footpaths) takes you into town where you will find everything you could possibly need!
Having spent our last 6 Christmases at Ayr we spoke to reception on leaving to find out how long we had to re-book the same pitch for 2015. We were told as long as we booked by 5th January our pitch would be held. Sadly this was not the case. I called to re-book on the 5th and was told that 'our' pitch had already been booked to a family for 10 nights. I guess it's not hard to work out the maths, 4 nights for us or 10 for someone else?! It's obviously worth more to the site than loyalty. I did complain but all I had back was an email from them hoping we'd stay with them again in the future, no apology of course. We were really disappointed as we saw Ayr as our regular Christmas spot but have since booked an site in Poole at £10 per night less so perhaps a change is as good as a rest!
Regardless of our disappointment we still rate this park highly.

The campsite is very well laid out I went out to the toilet In the dark and it was well lit up by some lamps and the campsite is a 5 minutes walk on the coastal path and about 15 minutes via the road and the town is small but alright to have a look around bigger than some towns I know.
Good luck on going

We stayed mid week when it was relatively quiet but still a nice buzz.
This location is second to none, we walked into town and back every day and loved every minute. It takes 10 minutes to walk to an amazing beach and St Ives town.
Toilet/shower block was fantastic, hot water with good pressure with the radio playing too.
The playground looked fantastic although we didn't have time to use it.
The views were breathtaking, which we took in from the picnic table every mealtime.
Everything was spotless
If I was going to find things to be negative about they would be: a female member of staff was not best on the customer service front and we couldn't get rid of our grey waste there. Would really benefit from a shop.
We will ABSOLUTELY return.
