Very expensive site at £33 a night but decided to treat ourselves and its the only one within walking distance of St Ives.
However the price we paid was soon forgotten when we pitched up and had a fantastic view of St Ives and close to all amenities.
As you are on top of the hill its quite a treck back however they is a bus service next to the cafe close to the beach for £1 per person.
We would return if he wanted to treat ourselves.

Rest assured, this is a great campsite with stunning views of St Ives and Porthmeor Beach. A few minutes very steep downhill walk takes you into St Ives town with it's abundance of pubs, trendy shops and some quality restaurants (you will have to return by walking up the very steep streets!). Probably the finest most powerful shower you will find on a campsite anywhere in the 'state of the art' toilet and shower block. However this all comes at a price, and what a price! I was staggered to find that at Ayr Park I paid £38.25 per night for a tiny grass and mud pitch (albeit including electric) for our campervan and two adults. I was also informed that we would have leave by 10:00am the next morning. Although we could leave the 'van in their field for a few hours for an extra £3.
I suppose it all comes down to supply and demand and I understand that Ayr Park is always busy. I have been 'motorhoming' for nearly ten years and this is by far the most I have paid anywhere in the UK and Europe.

If Carlsberg did a campsite this would be the one.
Fantastic sea views over St Ives. Everything is clean and tidy, toilets are state of the art and immaculate the best I have seen camping by a mile.
A short walk down the hill and your in St Ives plenty pubs and restaurants, little narrow cobbled streets with interesting shops. Taxi is cheap as chips to save the walk back up the hill which is quite steep.
Only had the weekend which was nowhere near enough time too see everything. We will return to this site later this year, 5 stars without a doubt.

Visited whilst touring Cornwall. Previously stayed in a static approx' 20 years ago.
Initially thought site was a little expensive. Did not have h/u and cost was still £16. 50 per night.
However soon changed our minds when we pitched up and had a beautiful and unobstructed view over St. Ives.
Things got even better when we saw the toilet/showers and other facilities - All state of the art and well maintained.
Short walk down to St. Ives where you will find plenty of restaurants/pubs.
In summary a great site, ideally situated and excellent value for money.
Would recommend and will return!

The views from our pitch were amazing and we would return for this alone!
The pitch was sloping but chocks were provided and it was handy to have our own tap and enough shingle around the van to avoid walking on the muddy grass.
The toilets were lovely but I found them too hot! The showers were very powerful and easy to adjust the heat. However, the shower curtain kept sticking to me and there was nowhere to put shampoo etc.
There isn't a shop on site but not a problem as a couple of corner shops are close by.
We chose this site because we like to leave the van parked up for the duration of our stay. We easily walked into St Ives both via the coastal path and the main road - there was a handy map on entry to the park too. However, be aware that both ways are fairly steep coming back up!
We would return to this site even though it was costly. However, not every pitch would have such a good sea view, particularly if the site was full, so we would contact the park directly to try and pick a pitch.

We stayed over Christmas and had a lovely stay even though it was a little wild at times with the wind!
The toilet/shower block are 5 star.
The town centre is a 10 minute walk downhill will plenty of choice for eating, we ate in the Seaford Cafe on Xmas Eve which was very nice.
We caught the train to Penzance to watch our team Plymouth Albion lose to teh Cornish Pirates, easy and cheap.
We walked West away from the site on the coast path
And after 1 1/2 hours came across a sheltered cove with about 40 seals on it - worth the walk!
I would recommend anyone to stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights while touring Cornwall, great site, a bit more expensive than some but the location makes up for that - no need to use the van to go anywhere as St Ives within easy walking distance.
Very well kept site and very good toilet block - even piped music!
Stayed on a grass pitch with electric hook up, lots of other options and we were given the choice - quite an exposed site if the winds in the wrong direction but fantastic views over St Ives bay
We Would stay again!

This site has a fantastic position on the headland and is a short ten minutes walk into St Ives town. This can be via the streets or the coastal path from the rear of the site. Either way it's steep walk back.
The toilet block and washing facilities are state of the art, but shower cubicles are unnecessarily cramped with dark division panels (in the men's anyway).
The site is expensive considering no shop, bar etc. , but if staying for a couple of nights it's fine. Would definitely return in future.

Love this site and have been several times now. It is more expensive than some but in my opinion is well worth it.
The facilities are warm, modern and spotless with a more than adequate amount of toilets, showers and sinks for the size of the site.
The grounds are well cared for and have access straight onto the coastal path. We take the short walk to the bus stop and catch the bus to Zennor then walk the coastal path back to the camp site.
The views are stunning and shops, bus stop and St Ives are all within walking distance.

This excellent site is perfectly located, with 180+ degree sea views and easy access to both the town by the main entrance, and directly onto the rugged coast path through a gate at the back.
It is expensive though, and the facilities could be described as lavish but not always quite what the average camper would prefer. For instance, the shower block is a vision of glass and chrome, but with very cramped cubicles (despite lots of wasted space) and rather intrusive music. Nevertheless the underfloor heating was very welcome in January! Also the two self-contained 'wetroom' type bathrooms were very convenient for us, though probably difficult to get into at busy times. Again, the wifi signal strength was excellent, but the £4-a-day price is simply not competitive, since there's free wifi available in the town and an excellent 3G signal in the area.
So despite the cost we'll definitely go back, but we would have done anyway just for the location!
