What a truly wonderful site. The views over the bay are gorgeous and the site is immaculate. The toilet and shower block are beautiful with under floor heating. The beach and town are just a short stroll away but it is a steep hill, so taxi back.
The pitch is hardstanding with hookup, water and drain and the even provided levelling chocks.
For such a wonderful site it seems odd that they have a laundrette yet no on site shop and that there is no hand dryer or hair dryer in the disabled toilet/shower.
All in it is definitely a 10 out of 10 and we are fussy.

Stayed 2 weeks jan to feb 2014. Nice view over st ives from camp site. We did think site would be better suited to motorhomes than caravans, to face the view you have to let the van down the slope on to the hard standing pitch using the handbrake so you do need a motormover to get on and off the pitch with ease. The toilet block was modern but did have an odour which did not go away. Customer service skills came across not well

Wow, the views from this site are stunning and we had amazing sunny cold weather, which was a bonus.
We had a hard standing pitch with its own waste & fresh water and picnic table, right near the facility block.
The facility block was nice and warm with underfloor heating and very modern, one of the best we have seen.
Only a couple of little points of pickiness! Nowhere to put shampoo etc in the showers and my husband said the pressure was very low when he had a shower, although fine in the ladies?
Lovely walks from site onto the coastal footpath and into St Ives.
Had a Chinese delivered direct to the motorhome on the Saturday night, very nice it was too!

Worth the slightly higher than average price for the showers and the spectacular views! The site was busy but quiet as it was out of term time.
The allocated pitch was hard standing with water, drainage etc available. I was pleasantly surprised to find both a picnic table and wooden ramps available on the pitch. As the pitch was on a slope having the ramps was a necessity and these are great if you have forgotten your own.
The shower block is state of the art and outside the main areas there are small private shower/toilet rooms and even a wet suit shower area at the rear of the block. I could have happily spent a couple of hours under the power shower and they have even avoided the 'pre set' temperature that many sites use.
The whole site was beautifully clean and well laid out with views over St Ives from most pitches. Even this late in the season the Rugby Club still run their bus to/from town for £1 per person per trip. This stops outside the site and outside the Tate Gallery so is perfect unless you fancy an extremely steep climb back up the local roads to the site.

This is the Royalty of campsites, haven't bin camping long so maybe we are easily pleased? a bit more 'professional' then welcoming but excellent facilities, showers were clean and had radio playing In the blocks.
The overflow pitch where we camped was extremely close the coast with an amazing view (pitch at the top of the field for view of beach)
A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Small games room and the play area for kids looked amazing. Small burger van sells breakfasts in the mornings too. Little bit of a walk to the toilets, (if your not in the fancy pitches)
It's clean
It's well run
It's st Ives,
So it's pricey.

We have been to Ayr holiday park many times and it never disappoints us. The location is fantastic with an amazing view and once you pitch up you can leave your car and walk into St Ives.
St Ives has it all; great beaches, good eating out, lovely little streets and great galleries and shops. You can even walk the coastal path and catch a glimpse of seals lying on rocks below.
Most of the tent pitches are slopping and different sizes but all have a great view. Though sometimes this can mean you are a little more exposed to the elements so some extra guy ropes and some storm pegs are always useful.
The shower facilities are good and clean, with hot showers and no queuing.
Ayr is more expensive than other sites but there is no hassle of trying to park or paying out for buses or taxis when you are here.
The downside is you have to book well in advance for peak times but it is worth it.

Fabulous views out to sea & across St Ives from every pitch. The pitch was very level.
Clean shower block which seemed quite new, it was quite busy at times but generally ok. The showers were really hot.
Great location on the edge of town so only a 10 min walk to the beach & pubs etc. But it was still quiet at night. Short walk to the coastal path too.
There's a handy breakfast van on the site too.
Would definitely stay again.

This site is in a good location near the beach and the town only a ten minutes walk away, good town to visit. Site is at the top of a very steep hill but the bus to the top is only a pound. The views are spectacular, but the price is very expensive, over double the price of any other site in Cornwall, I suggest you phone to get a price first. The toilet and shower block is well OTT for a camp site and this is what you are paying for, all glass and chrome, too good for a camp site. This site has nothing that others have apart from a cheap breakfast bar for campers. The grass sites are very uneven. Cost of stay for motorhome and two people £33.

What a fantastic camp site, everything about this site made it a pleasure to visit. The shower block was out of this world. Under floor heating, music playing, a beautiful smell hot showers, hairdryers and so clean you could have eaten your dinner off the surfaces.
The views were to die for and the hardstanding pitch was perfect, from inside our motor home we had views over St Ives bay and could watch the tide going in or out. We didn't have children with us but the playground would have delighted any child, dogs were also welcomed with plenty of walks for them and their owners.
All the usual necessary facilities were there for toilet waste, washing up, washing drying machines, small shop ect. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, we had a small problem with electrics which turned out to be an issue with the circuit board in our motorhome, but an electrician from the site came out to us very quickly and did all he could to help at no charge.
It's probably not the cheapest site available but if you want 5 star camping then this is the site for you. If we go back to Cornwall we won't stay anywhere else.

The best site I have ever been to, in the best location. We needed somewhere close to town as we did not want to move the motorhome! This was ideal, the facilities were excellent - you could live in the shower/toilet block - clean, warm, spacious, music all day!, well decorated and modern. Perfect. The site was busy, but quiet, and the views were magnificent. Plenty of blocks, boards etc around to help level units or prevent muddy areas by doors etc. Laundry was clean and efficient, and the games room was pleasant. Took just 10 mins to walk into town, but the walk back was much harder as it is up a VERY steep hill - taxi cost £4.
