Just returned from a long weekend at this site and felt I had to leave a review. I agree with other reviewers this is a great site. It was easy to get to just off the main road, no narrow tracks to squeeze down. I liked the fact the site is divided into 2 parts, 1 for adults and the other for families. It's well laid out and has nice trees and shrubs. I think the best thing is the immaculate toilet and shower block which includes a bathroom in the ladies, excellent. Friendly helpful owners.

Booking: quick phone call to friendly site owner, deposit paid and day of arrival arranged.
Arrival: Met at entrance by owner; paid deposit for card for barrier; owner ran through the site regulations, showed us the facilities and where to pitch.
Facilities: Large toilet/shower block; not coin operated, plenty of units and hot water; no queues; scrupulously clean. Use of freezer and fridge. Wifi available.
Site: Medium size level site (tent pegs go in easily). Some traffic noise.
Supermarket close to Bury St Ed.
Would return to this site again.

I highly recommend this site: the welcome was quick and warm and owner willingly helped a couple of newbies park the van. The site is level and peaceful: any traffic noise didn't bother us: in fact a couple of pitches were taken by people there long term waiting for a house move. The toilet blocks are heated and absolutely spotless: they are cleaned continually and have a children's room with bath, also separate cubicles with bath, toilet and basin. The WiFi is fast and powerful and we had no problems connecting. The site is easy to access and well situated for local beauty spots like Lavenham and Thetford forest. There are local walks without needing to get in the car. To sum up, I hope to return to this site very soon.

This is our second visit to this wonderfully idyllic site in rural Suffolk. From the moment we entered the site, where we were met by the owner, to the minute we left, we were made to feel very welcome.
Entry to the site is via a security barrier which you pull up to and are met by the owner. After being shown to our pitch, most are grass with only a few hard standing, we were informed to set up before going to the owners house on site to settle up for our stay. The barrier is operated by a swipe card which requires a £10 refundable deposit.
The owners work very hard in maintaining exceptionally high standards throughout the site. The toilet block is spotlessly clean with 3 showers for the men and 3 for the women. There are ample sinks for washing, although they're not partitioned off like some sites, notably caravan club sites.
The site is only half a mile off the A14 which can be heard from the site. Others have mentioned that it went unnoticed, but there is definitely a constant drone of lorries and cars which are just over the field from some pitches. That said, it hasn't put us off from returning which we'll do again now that we've found the site.
Thurston is the local village with a wonderful pub, The Fox and Hounds. The pub has won pub of the year numerous times and if you're eating, you'll have to book. There's a garage in Thurston with a convenience store, but it's far cheaper at the Co-Op which is further in the village and stays open later. If you want to walk to Thurston, which is only 10 minutes, be careful as there's no footpath from the site. If you're returning late at night you'll definitely need a torch as there's no street lighting.
Bury St Edmunds is only 10 minutes from the site and the owner will give you a map detailing the best places to park. Some car parks in the centre are expensive for a small town at £2 an hour. If you don't mind walking 5 minutes you can park all day for £2. 30 and then walk through the gorgeous Abbey gardens. Be warned, the squirrels will expect feeding! We had a great time with a bag of monkey nuts feeding the squirrels by hand, with one particularly eager which would gladly climb your trouser leg for a nut!
Overall, an exceptional site in a prime location. Well worth a visit.

This was our first visit to The Dell Caravan Park, but certainly not our last. It was very peaceful, absolutely spotlessly clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble. From the minute we arrived we were greeted and shown and helped to our pitch. The site was totally secure. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is the best smaller campsite that we have found. The proprietors went out of their way to be helpful; the booking procedure was clear and efficient; the site was beautifully maintained in a rural setting, with security barrier operational. The washroom facilities and room for dishwashing were impeccably clean and warm, and well equipped. Water points, recycling and facility for waste water were well maintained, and adequate lighting was provided at the electrical points. There is no criticism that I would offer, and we look forward to returning.
The site is moments from the A14 giving good access to the Suffolk coast, and towns such as Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham, Ely.
Local pubs offer good dining, and there are local walks and a bus route.
We did not have children, so I cannot comment on provision for them, save that there is a dedicated room for families with small children in the toilet block

Let's start with the good points.
1 - This site has the most friendly owners I have met on any caravan site anywhere. For this alone, they deserve more business.
2 - The bathrooms were clean, sparkly and large. Again, for this alone they deserve more business!
3 - Water, waste and elsan points are all clean and accessible.
4 - It's a nice level site.
Unfortunately, there are some areas for improvement:
1 - The WiFi is pretty terrible. This is for several reasons:
A - Very strict site filtering is in operation (OpenDNS is used for DNS and the filter set seems to include all categories). Whilst I can understand the site owner not wanting to get into any trouble by people browsing things they shouldn't be, the list is so great that quite legitimate sites are blocked. I can quite see the site owner being sued for discrimination against [insert minority group] because their general information sites are blocked. There is also the issue that by blocking sites, the owner is accepting some responsibility for what is available, which means when something gets through, they could be held liable.
B - Access to certain IP blocks has been disallowed for no apparent reason. It looks like the site owner has made arbitrary decisions that certain blocks always contain bad content or bad people. Unfortunately in this case, my primary VPN endpoint was blocked (5. X. X. X address, based in Manchester) and I could only work because my secondary endpoint (73. X. X. X) was not blocked.
C - If you don't have a device with a web browser on it, you can't use the WiFi since it requires details to be entered on a web portal.
D - To be polite, it looks to me as though the installation was done on a budget!
E - The installation appears to use one BT DSL circuit. This is not enough for a site of this size and the available bandwidth per user was very low.
2 - The hook-up is only 10A. This meant that even running the heating/water on 2kW tripped the fuse when other devices were turned on. I can understand that the site owner is trying to save money, but please - 6A, 12A or 16A all work for me - I know what I can leave on without worrying about anything else tripping the mains but 10A is the most awkward limit! Yes, I could have treated it as a 6A feed, but then I may as well have not bothered hooking up at all and run on battery/gas. To add insult to injury, the breaker switches are all in sealed boxes and the site owner needs to unlock them to reset the fuses.
3 - The site is right next to a straight stretch of road which comes out of a 30MPH into a 60MPH limit. I was woken several times throughout the night by drivers accelerating very hard up the road.

I agree with all the previous positive comments. It ticked all the boxes for us, coming from Germany and visiting the area for the first time. The site was well organised, the shower block and toilets immaculately clean and we enjoyed a very good space with hard pitch for the motorhome and a lawn big enough to spread our things out. There were good facilities for our two labradors including a short walk and many longer walks. We enjoyed our visit very much. Thank you to the owners.

Lovely friendly site split into two halves one for adults and one for families both sharing the cleanest toilet block ever (we watched it being cleaned at least three times a day, maybe more while we weren't looking). It is truly immaculate and a credit to the site owners.
This was our third visit along with friends, so good is the site you can return again and again.
This year we would like to say a special thank you to the owners, as having booked several months ago we couldn't get to the site on the due day as one of us was ill, we did keep the site informed though and had to come a few days late. However we were not charged for the missing days which we thought incredibly fair of them, as we had booked the pitch after all.
An added bonus is the free wi-fi.
Thank you for an incredibly friendly and helpful site. I wish I could give you more than 10 out of 10. Wonderful.

We have just returned from this site and would love to recommend to everyone interest in going to a good quality caravan, camping site. The facilities are excellent, always clean with little extras. Excellent area for visiting, surrounding area great for walking our dogs, Leaflets given to us by the owner which was very handy. Free wi-fi a total bonus.
Some sites wont allow dogs but the owner of this site was fantastic and accommodated my 5 chihuahua's which to us is a 5 star site. Very friendly owners and extremely helpful, thanks for a great holiday. We will be back
