Excellent shower/toilet/food preparation and washing facilities -always clean, modern and sufficient in number. Spacious pitches and tidy site in rural setting, but local bus to Bury St Edmunds/Stowmarket stops at their gate and train to Cambridge/Ipswich approx 1 mile away
Ideally placed for touring area. Owners very helpful and friendly. Peaceful environment but with some background noise from A14 trunk road.

Our first visit but by no means our last. Very friendly owners always available and perfect toilet blocks, always spotless.
The town of bury is a very good day trip and the white horse in Beyton 1mile away has very good ale's and excellent food at very good prices.
Overall the time spent this last bank holiday was very good value for money and we are looking forward too our next visit later this year.

Our first time at this site and we will be visiting again, the shower block modern, warm and immaculate.
Although the weather was dull and miserable we had a friendly welcome from the owner and a choice of pitch, we chose one in the corner away from the A14. At this time of year the hardstanding was necessary.
There appear to be some permanent touring vans / workers, but they are not on the main pitching area.
The village shop stocks most essentials, there is a village pub doing meals which we hope to sample in future.
Bury St Edmunds has a brand new shopping complex as well as a wide range of smaller shops and historic buildings.

My wife & I have just returned home after staying at the Dell for a week in our caravan. Getting to the site couldn`t be easier, it is a stones throw from the A14 & access is superb. We were greeted by Andrew upon arrival & given a choice of pitches. We chose one furthest away from the main A14 as we were a bit concerned that the road noise would be intrusive but in the event we were not too bothered by it. The facilities are superb, very clean & tidy and nice & warm, great at this time of year. We had one small hiccup during our week long stay & that was that we tripped out the electrics inadvertantly when we had our caravan electric heating on & then switched on our electric kettle at the same time, putting too great a load on the current supply.
The surrounding area offers plenty of scope for thing to see & places to visit although at this time of year some attractions are closed, or about to. Nevertheless, we found plenty to do & see.
There is a Post Office & extremely well stocked general store in Thurston Village a mile or so away & all the shops you could ever want in Bury St. Edmunds about 5 miles away.
All in all a very pleasant week spent at the Dell, Andrew & Dawn are both very helpful and accommodating & the pitch fees are very reasonable (special offer for us oldies, £80 for 7 nights, including electrics). We hope to visit the site again, next time with our friends & their caravan.

This is a really lovely site.
We stayed for just one night as we were going to a concert in Thetford Forest which is not to far away.
The owner was very friendly, the site had a family feel about it. He showed us to our pitch and didn't mind that we broke our entrance card by accident!
The facilities were brilliant, very clean, warm and spacious for such a small site.
2 villages are very close by and the town of Bury St Edmunds is near which has everything you could want.
The noise from the road is a little annoying but nothing too intrusive.
I would visit again.

We spent nearly a week on this lovely site. It is small, level and the toilets and showers were obviously quite new and absolutely spotless. There is a small office which is open all the time, which has leaflets about stuff to do and public transport plus a selection of books and mags to borrow.
We cycled every day and were able to find quiet roads nearby and enjoyed cycling through pretty villages on virtually traffic free lanes.
Village shop approx 1 mile away, and a couple of pubs within about a mile.

Just come back from a 2 night stay at this wonderful little campsite and it gets a massive thumbs up from me! The toilet block is the best that I have ever come across in all my camping trips, I didn't even mind going to the loo in bare feet!
The ground is nice and level and there is a separate area for adults only if you wish to be away from any crying kids!
You are very close to the A14 but to be honest, could not really hear it and it meant it was nice and simple to get into Bury town centre from the A14.
There are some nice walks in the surrounding area with a couple of pubs and if the weather is as nice as it was while we were there, this is a definite site to visit!

We have just spent a most enjoyable week at this site, the owners Andrew and Dawn were really helpful nothing was too much trouble for them.
The toilets were exceptionally clean
There was always hot water in the showers.
The park is very well laid out with a family area and adults only area plenty of room round your caravan in fact the owner fetched us a wooden bench. There is no play area for the children.
We found somewhere different to go every day, great market in Bury St Edmunds on a Wednesday and Saturday.Car boot on a Sunday at Woolpit. If you enjoy walking there are some great walks to go on.
We will definitely going back has it is such a great site

A warm welcome from the owners Andrew and Dawn. Extremely helpful and we were given the opportunity to choose our own pitch. Plenty of electric hookups and water points, the showers, washrooms and toilets were immaculate. The local shops was near and was very useful for shopping. Central for visiting lots of interesting places, cannot fault the site in any way and it is definitely worth another visit.

We visited the site on a sunny February week. The site it self is lovely and clean with well kept toilet blocks and showers. They are also nice and warm. We had a hard standing pitch but even the grass pitches were dry. The roads around the camp are very busy and the a14 can be heard but on the whole a nice campsite and would use it again if staying at Saxham
