Visited this park for the second time and was worried about the recent rain affecting the pitches. Luckily we arrived during the best weather this year.
We were told that the toilet block had been refurbished and it hasn't - however with the standard of people using them they were cleaner. Although my husband tells me the male showers some didn't have a basic shower curtain or anywhere to place items in the shower.
We found a shower curtain in a nearby £1 shop - how difficult is that.
The pitches are suffering with the recent bad weather and during our second week the rain just seeped into our awning.
You are not allowed to sleep in the awnings or place awning annexes on the pitch which I find ludicrous when just across the way are people sleeping in tents (just like an awning), and the wardens had a bedroom annexe attached to their tourer! Even more ludicrous when a tent was pegged over a hardstanding pitch!
The rules that are applied to tourers and campers are ruining the basis of the holiday. We were not given the type of pitch we tried to book, we wanted the 4 pitch paddock and when we checked to ensure we had those we were told to upgrade to a hardstanding pitch as they had all been changed to hardstanding - they had not and the warden was less than happy to put us where we asked even lying about the fact they were booked - they remained vacant for a week and a half! Site was quite empty considering it was the first two weeks of school hols. Priced out of the market?
For nearly £78 per night we were not happy campers. The warden even came into our awning to check ours just after we pitched up and we were not in our van at the time. He then returned 2 mins later with a list of rules and had taken the time to underline the ones we had apparently 'flouted' and placed it on the seat I was sat next to before disappearing!
The campsite itself and the facilities are excellent as is the location. Free wi-fi in the Mash and Barrel pub is useful which we used whilst drinking a fantastic value Hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream - try it you will be hooked.
Overall I would return for the location and facilities for kids but customer care on the touring side needs a marked improvement and they need to understand that you are on holiday not at school.

We stayed at Kiln Park for 4 days at the end of August this year. There were four of us (2 adults and a 3 and 4 year old) we paid £35 per night for an 'overflow pitch' which included entertainment passes but no electric hook up.
We fully expected a busy park and didn't anticipate a quiet time. We were looking for a park with on-site entertainment facilities as we hadn't been to this type of park before and thought we should try it.
In terms of entertainment it was completely what we expected. Don't go to Haven if you want peaceful surroundings! Bear in mind also that there are plenty of people who walk past your tent at 2am singing loudly, shouting and playing hide and seek in the kilns. It didn't bother us, but I can see that some people would like a quieter site.
The indoor swimming pool was good, although it only had one male and one female toilet and cold showers. Still it was clean and new and the kids loved the slide and shallow pool area.
The on site pub/restaurant was ok. The food was fine if a little overpriced. The evening entertainment was exactly what you'd expect (cheesy, loud and OTT but not in a bad way).
Throughout our stay, all of the staff - entertainment, security, wardens etc. Were all helpful, polite and friendly - the highlight for my 4 year old was meeting Bradley bear.
The shop was ok, the staff were particularly helpful with directions etc.
But now we come to the main point. If you are planning to camp at Kiln Park in a tent don't bother!
When we arrived the gentleman checking us in told us to 'look for a spot that isn't too bad and don't go too far into the field, a car got stuck earlier' So with raising levels of anxiety we went to look for a spot. There were two possible areas and both resembled a marsh land. Our children put on their wellies and spent a good while splashing in a puddle (which was supposed to be a pitch) which was so deep it came up and over their wellies. We walked up and down for a while trying to find a less boggy area but there weren't any. I can't begin to say how disappointed we were with the site. The electric pitches looked a bit better than the overflow, the majority were empty and there were 4 tents on the overflow.
Anyway, undeterred we pitched our tent on the best spot we could find. By the time we had pitched up, the area surrounding the tent was pure mud bath. 4 days of dry weather followed, the pitch was still unusable and inaccessible without wellies. We had to carry our children back and forth to the car, were not able to sit or cook outside the tent and couldn't let the children out of the door (their wellies were now soaking wet inside from the puddles. ) As a family, we enjoy spending time around the tent, playing outside, cooking outdoors etc. Having to be out and about the entire time is not our idea of camping. It also becomes increasingly expensive when you have to eat out every night!
Then, covered in mud, we came to use the showers. After a trek to the amenities, we found them to be smelly, slimy, cold, damp and outdated. The shower was so hot and powerful that my 3 year old refused to get in. There were no extractor fans, which was remedied by opening the windows - therefore, cold facilities. Nowhere to put your shower gel, shampoo etc. Within the shower - so put them on the floor with the pile of other peoples hair or outside the shower curtain so you splash water all over your dry clothes every time you reach out.
There were staff around the area who looked like they were cleaning, but the floor wasn't just wet and a bit muddy (as it gets when you're camping I know) but slimy. There were cobwebs and dead bugs all over the window sills and ceiling.
The toilets were slightly better but the mens were a bit smelly and you needed to try several toilets before finding a clean one.
There were plugs for straighteners and hairdryers which was a bonus.
We used the laundry which was ok, although a little over priced (£5 for a wash, £1 for 10 minutes drying time).
The walk to the beach wasn't too bad as we parked near the start of the path.
My advice to anyone considering this park. Don't. If you've already booked before reading the reviews (like I did) take your wellies and budget for eating out.
We paid what I feel to be a premium for this break but we certainly did not receive anything beyond third rate!
Tenby itself is lovely, the local area needs some more exploring and we will certainly return to Tenby.
However, we will not be visiting Haven again. Ever!

Booked 4 nights at this park. On arrival we were greeted by a nice staff member. We followed instructions to the grass pitch we had requested. We could not believe how bad the pitch field was. Surface water could be seen from the road, we had to walk around the edge of the field to find a suitable place that we thought was dry enough.
Once found, we pitched. Thankfully the sun came out, not that it made any difference to the water levels on this site. We were unable to get to the road on site without wellies on. It was impossible to sit in the chairs outside the tent as they sank at least 2 inches into the boggy ground.
This field is no way suitable for camping in its current condition and we feel that Haven should not be allowed to take money from unsuspecting campers when the field is in such a poor state.
Several visitors to this site used the field for dog walking and didn't bother to clean up after their dog.
The toilet facilities are situated on the touring pitch area of the site. It is very dark to walk from the field to these at night. The toilet block is locked at night and you have to use a passcode to unlock them should you need to go.
The toilets had been cleaned and if other users flushed them, they would have been ok.
The entertainment centre was overcrowded and the amusements were dirty and full of rubbish. The street lighting from the centre is poor. Take a torch. Very disappointed in this site, packed up and came home after one day. Will not visit another Haven site again.

Having been at Kiln park about 30 years' ago I wondered what we might be letting ourselves in for! We were pleasantly surprised by the neat layout and largely good facilities.
It had been raining very heavily for about two weeks before we arrived and the grass pitches (and tent area) were almost flooded. The wardens upgraded us to a super hard pitch on arrival without extra charge and both were very helpful throughout. That said, the drainage on the grass part for our awning was not great, but I think we have to fair in the light of the deluges of the previous weeks.
The toilet block for the touring area is not bad and was cleaned regularly. It could do with some sprucing up, not least the holes in the walls around the urinals.
The Mash & Barrel pub and restaurant is not great - we had two meals there (the first on arrival, which was very poor) and the second in the midst of a horribly wet day, which was a bit better but pricey for what it was. There are some very nice places to eat in Tenby itself (although some are a bit high end for families).
I would not describe the walk from the touring area to the beach as 'short' - it's about fifteen/twenty minutes if you have a lot of gear with you.
The on site shop is well stocked and very handy. The pool and amusement centre is well run and great when you have a 12 and 14 year old with you. Didn't sample much in the way of shows etc - not really our thing.
Overall - a much better experience than we anticipated, especially in the midst of truly atrocious weather. It was so bad that the park was contacting people from about our third day on to tell them not to arrive as booked! On the day we were set to move on to Somerset, it was very wet and windy - not great for packing up and a four hour drive. The wardens were most helpful in getting us an extra night for £20, which in the end we did not use as the weather cleared.
We were at Kiln Park before the British school holidays so perhaps it was a bit quieter than others have found. On the whole a very positive experience. Despite the chronic weather.

Caravan pitches are either reinforced grass pitches and concrete hard standing with a reinforced grass pitch. They are in blocks of four or eight depending on location. Due to this years heavy rain the pitches have had a pounding but we found ours to be ok yes there are some that have mud patches but with the site wardens doing their best to rotate how you pitch in your area they are managing as best as they can.
The camping field does have a no car restriction most probably to save the field from damage. Bins are plenty on site and also a recycling program is in operation.
Park over all was neat and tidy and well presented and each pitch has its own TV point. All grey water has a disposal point by the toilets along with the elsan point. We found the showers ok never any issues with hot water and always available.
Our youngest was not impressed with the Haven entertainment but did enjoy the beach which is a short walk away. We were there during term time so not totally packed but plenty of family's from Ireland as it was their school holidays.
Swimming pool was clean and pleasant to use and offers are reasonable childs splash pool along with a main pool slide and bubble pool, very small soft play area so on a wet day not a lot for small kids to do.
Outside park was very good which offered enough to keep smaller kids amused. Outside pool only worked for 2 of our 7 day there so unable to judge that.
We would certainly go back again but outside the peak times and hopefully with better weather.

Myself, my partner and 2 Pug dogs finished up 7 nights in Perran Sands, Cornwall to do another 7 nights at Kiln Park, Wales. I will start by saying we left luxury behind to this dated and very boggy camp site.
On to the pitches and camping. First of all you're not allowed on the camping field with your car which bugged us straight away. You have to park it down the road just past reception in a car park. The pitches are very stony so make sure you have strong pegs as we do otherwise you will end up going through loads of pegs trying to get them in the ground.
Unlucky for us we had to set up in the rain! Never fazed us before but how we pitched our tent first of all our canopy was sitting in a puddle of mud outside the door due to old tyre tracks where they used to let cars on the field. (We moved back the next day).
So if you're unfortunate to camp in this park when it rains be warned the field gets very water logged and boggy.
The facilities IE: toilet/shower block/wash up area are very out dated compared to the new blocks in Perran Sands. They're clean to a certain extent. The majority of the toilets are hard to flush so I walked in to many toilets where people were to lazy to flush it a few times.
I give the showers their due they're roomy with a little bench in the corner and a shower curtain on the shower and they're also quite powerful but again very outdated. The wash up area is under cover just outside the toilet/shower block - One downside there were no plugs in any of the sinks so we had to take kitchen roll every time we needed to wash up!
The park is a big one - But that's Haven for you! The complex is quite a walk from the campsite. We didn't use anything apart from one day I used the WiFi in the Mash and Barrel which was perfect. We did use the launderette once which is average! And the Spar shop on site is big and well stocked.
The beach is worth checking out. Just follow the signposts on the site. It's quite a walk if you're not up for it there's a car park nearby but you still have to walk a long path to get there.

Plenty to do at this site. Good facilities for disabled. Dogs welcome. Plenty of all round entertainment for all ages. Staff very helpful.
Good selection of places to eat nearby if you can't find what you want on site. Very close to some lovely beaches and pretty countryside.
2 great swimming pools indoor and outdoor if weather is good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with our grandchildren and would recommend it to other campers.

Just got back from a few days at Kiln Park and had a lovely time (nice weather helped!) Much improved from last year! Less crowded and the awful facilities in the portacabin in the overflow field have gone, thank goodness!
We were in the overflow field but there was plenty of space. Showers and washing-up facilities were really good and the wardens were really friendly and helpful.
I love the close proximity to the beach, a short walk from the site takes you to the lovely South Beach where dogs are welcome. I took 2 teenagers and even they seemed happy! Plenty to amuse them and a short walk to Tenby. Even power points in shower block for straighteners and hairdryers, very important!
I paid a lot less than price in brochure, £28 a night, so not bad for 3 adults plus dog, considering all facilities, so worth checking. Only drawback was could be a bit of a treck to facilities depending on where you're pitched, but wardens very amenable.

This is a huge site, so don't expect any peace and quiet. The tent field is right next door to the fairground with all it's booming music for the rides, and people think nothing of sitting in their awnings until goodness-knows when in the mornings, drinking and talking with no attention paid to the noise created.
We were on a fully-serviced pitch, and the first thing to note is that you should ignore any size limitations that seem to be imposed - anything over a 6. 4m caravan is supposed to be too big, but our 7. 2m van fitted comfortably and there were bigger vans there. The pitch was hard standing on concrete which meant no worries if it rained. I notice the tent field was all flat, so the water would have nowhere to go if it did rain heavily.
There was one toilet block for about 200 vans and tents. As you can imagine, it got pretty heavily used, and there were a few 'yuk!' moments! for some reason, the main shower block closed at 6:30pm (7:30pm later in the week), so no late showers there.
For a site that allows pets, I was amazed to find no defined dog walk. That meant that pets had to do their business in the same areas that kids play in.
Overall, the site itself was very clean. It has excellent access to the beach, and an easy walk into Tenby.
The entertainment was extremely cheesy, and great fun! I found the need for 7-8 security guards in the main concert room (plus more outside) very oppressive, though. What on earth were they expecting?

Visited Kiln Park for a five night camping trip with a large family frame tent. As the site was very busy we were located on the overflow field.
The site itself was surprisingly good, well run and clean and tidy. The clubhouse and entertainment were also good providing good family entertainment.
The only down side was the shower and toilet facilities which although clean lacked hot water much of the time, although if you avoided the busy times of day to do your ablutions it was better.
The cost was very reasonable considering the facilities offered on site. I will certainly be returning in the future.
