Well, the Haven season starts again! We went there on the opening day (not that I realised that when I booked) - everything looks just as it did last year, same helpful warden and unfortunately same muddy space for your awning!
Pick your pitch carefully, or you'll find (as we did) that the contents of your awning will be floating when it rains.
Also, had the same irresponsible dog owners as last time - who think it's okay to walk through pitches to find a patch of grass for their dog to use as a toilet. Rarely was it cleaned up and it was scattered liberally around the unused pitches.
All the facilities remain the same, nothing new that I could spot this year. Bit shocked at the prices at the bar though, eye watering!
Parents, it may be wise to blindfold your kids on the way through the complex. Funworks is a most effective way of separating parents & their offspring from their cash.

This as to be one of the best Haven sites we have stayed at. The touring area is a good size and when we arrived we were welcomed by the touring warden and he told us we could pitch were we wanted. He pointed out the best area for us as we have a little boy and there was space for him to play with out any traffic. The pitches were a great size loads of room between pitches and were all fully serviced. The toilet area was spotless and so was the site. The complex is with in walking distance but not too close so you can here any noise. We will be going back and I would recommend you do in the future.

Great site with plenty to keep my 4 year old daughter entertained for a week. Haven always provide good value for money and this site is one of the best we have been to. Can't fault it other than maybe the dance floor in the show bar could be made bigger to accommodate the number of children at school holiday time. Moving off the site to the local area. Due to bad reports, I have always had reservations about visiting Cleethorpes, but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Although it will always struggle with the main seaside resorts it has one of the best beaches I have ever visited in the UK. There are also some quite decent night time illuminations on the seafront and I would fully recommend the all you can eat Chinese buffet restaurant between Havens Thorpe Park and Cleethorpes Promenade.

We decided to try this site as it is just over an hour drive away and the time of year we wanted to ensure there would be things to do for the kids if the weather wasn't so great.
Well we dropped on the best weekend ever weather wise, in the late 20's which can make or break a camping trip but that aside, what a great long weekend we had at this site.
There were 19 of us split between 1 tourer and 3 tents (1 family of first time campers), the non electric field was fairly flat (a few groves where a large vehicle had been) and with no pre allocated pitches and arriving early we all got pitched together,
The loo's and showers were cleaned very regularly so were in great condition, some of the best facilities I've seen.
I liked that the showers had a seat and hooks to put your clothes so they didn't get wet. It was far too warm in the toilet block but I think this was down to the weather.
Kids loved the swimming pool and the other facilities, we eat in the pub area to, nothing special but ok for the price.
The beach that was just a short walk from the camping field was lovely, very clean, we all paddled in the sea!Great price too £28 for 3 nights including the entertainment complex passes. Will definitely be going back next year

Just returned from a weeks holiday at this site and was so impressed have booked for next year already.
Site really good for amenities and pleasure island theme park is next door. Site has beach access also.
Only problem we had was toilets were dirty on one night but five minutes after complaining the issue was rectified. The touring staff are very helpful and jolly also.
All in all the best haven site we have visited. The entertainment was excellent for our children. The food on site is a little expensive but you expect that but is plenty of places a short walk to get food.

We picked this site as we wanted the facilities and the activities on offer. We booked for 4 nights and price was good.
There is no pre-allocation and you are told to pick your own slot before reporting back to check-in to get the toilet key. Cant say I ever felt welcomed.
There are a lot of 'season' pitches there and they are marked out quite territorially. Not overly friendly.
Hard standing for the car and caravan - awning on grass (well bare soil). When it rains its quickly turns to mud. Despite temperatures in the 20s - never quite dried out! pitches were fully serviced with water, leccy and drains.
Toilets were a struggle. Just about clean and not big enough. Showers are the push button type - just a pain. On site shop (spar) was well equipped though.
The place seemed over run with foxes - quite a few areas smelled of sh*t - a lot of dogs on site, but they all seemed under control, so wasn't them.
Did not like it that much that we upped and left within 3 days!
However, that was based on the touring site on its own.
The 'Haven' side of things was not too bad. Facilities and activities were great for the kids (3 and 7yrs). Staff in the complex actually seemed interested and engaged. Evening entertainment was very family focused - kids loved it.
Considering the fee of £96 for 4 nights and the free entertainment / swimming pool / complex - wasn't too bad. Some of the paid activities were slightly expensive though.
Overall, shame that the touring area just didn't cut it. This was our first time with Haven - liked the idea - not the (touring) site.

Excellent location - facilities first class with bus services to Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Near Pleasure Island which is great for kids. Toilet blocks and shower facilities cleaned on a regular basis with convenience store on site plus swimming and leisure facilities.
The pitches were of good size and generally private and clear of any litter or debris.
Beaches near by with yacht club with bar facilities and amusement arcade about 10 mins walk away.
Everyone was very polite welcoming and it has a real good feel about it.

Have just returned from five nights at Thorpe Park, we were down for only four but stopped the extra one as we loved it, first time camping with Haven and we were impressed found a lovely flat pitch close to the toilets, have three young children so need toilet close!
The wardens were great really helpful, toilet and shower block were cleaned all the while, showers were hot slow running but hot,
Tesco 24hr nearby, and a lovely playground through funworks so just cover the kids eyes as go through amusements! but expect that with haven,
swimming pool is lovely nice warm water clean, the outside slides have much colder water but kids didn't care! Overall a great stay!

Have just returned from this park after a weekend visit. I would say that this is one of the best Haven Campsites we have been to.
There is a lovely walk a long the beach to Cleethorpes from the site.
The facilities on site were typical of haven sites. The only problem is when you leave, the time is 10 am. This is a rush if you have to take awnings down etc. They did say you can leave at 12 but for a price and subject to availability of pitch.
Would return again.

We have been to this site now about 8 times. The toilets are cleaned about 3 times a day and are a credit to the wardens. The pitches however are typical October pitches. They are well worn and not in good condition. The benefit is that as you pick your own pitch and we arrived in day light we managed to pick a fairly decent pitch.
The clubhouse is again typical for October with the chairs all needing a really good clean as everything is slightly stained. The food on site is really quite expensive and not a very good quality.
The best option for food is The Trawlerman carvery pub at the entrance to the Haven site. Fantastic food at £3.49 for a carvery Mon-Sat and £5.99 during the week. Excellent food!
