Have just spent a very pleasant weekend here. The pitches adequate (we had a hard standing one). My family also had a pitch next to us. Only thing is the toilets/ showers not the best but no faults with anything else. Pleasant staff entertainment good. Would recommend the carvery pub at the top of the road. Not a great deal to do in cleethorpes but the weather was warm so could walk along the beach. Will definitely be going back

A basic Haven site with all the children needed. Very close to the beach with a nice walkway to miniature railway. Look out for the 'all you can eat' chinese, its fab and great value for money. Swimming pool warm and outdoor flumes great! Toilets clean. Good stay but not the best Haven site we have been on.

My best friend and I took our little ones to Thorpe Park for six nights so that she could try out camping for the first time and thanks to the weather, the touring site and the warden she is now hooked!
The site itself has lovely level pitches, especially in the electric area and the boundaries of these are well marked and big enough for our 5mx4m tunnel tent and two cars and still plenty of room for us to sit outside.
The touring warden is very friendly and helpful and really made a difference to our stay compared with some other Haven Campsites.
The shower blocks were quite small for the size of the site but we never had a problem being able to use them and there is plenty of room to manoeuvre a large pushchair around inside too. There were times when they were not particularly clean but again compared to some they were not too horrendous.
The warden let us have a key for the family bathroom as we had two babies and a four year old to try and keep clean, although this may not be possible for tent users when the Euro Pitches are full as it is in their shower block.
The swimming pool on site is great, especially for older children, although they could probably do with a few more family changing cubicles, and changing tables.
The restaurant was fine, not too pricey all considered and the options we chose all tasted fine if nothing special.
The four year old enjoyed the soft play area and the rides outdoors plus the entertainment, but for very small children the distractions are limited; our babies could have done with a safe area to get out of the pushchair or off our laps and have a good crawl and roll about away from older children.
The walk into Cleethorpes along the beach and through the nature reserve is wonderful and we never moved the car the whole time we were there thanks to the great weather. Cleethorpes is small but we found a really good family pub with fantastic food (the Punchbowl) very reasonably priced.
All in all it was a great stay and we will definitely return in the future.

We stayed here for 1 week and we all had a great time, cant wait to go back.
We have 3 kids ages 11,5,3 and all had a ball.
I would definitely recomend it.
I agree with above the showers were not the cleanest but have seen worse.
The pool was really good, lots of fun for everyone.
Kids entertainment was good, we took our own crisps and pop in and they never questioned it.

I have read a few reviews on Thorpe Park and was a bit dubious about booking. I am so glad I did. Please don't listen to some of the negative feedback as it is down to the individuals taste. I took my wife and my little 18 month daughter. The weather was scorching, the staff were so friendly (apart from the old guy at the entrance to the Entertainment complex - make sure you show the date on your passes or watch out hehe). The warden welcomed us to the site and came round to make sure everything was okay. Even though we had pitched in an electric pitch by mistake, the warden said it was fine and let us stay there. We also have a Nebraska XXL so being a massive tent, I didn't know whether I would have to book 2 pitches but actually didn't. Maybe it would be different in peak times.
The toilets/showers weren't the cleanest but certainly not the dirtiest I have ever witnessed.
There is plenty to do at Thorpe Park ie Crazy Gold, SplashZone (the purple slide is the best one) - this has just opened in May and is well worth going along to have a laugh and the water although being outside, was quite warm. There is also arcades, a really nice bar, a soft play area which we found hard trying to drag our little girl away from. The best thing is you are just 10 minutes from the beach. Hint: The best chippie we have been to is on the beach front - can't remember the name but it says 'Cleethorpes Premier Fish and Chip Shop' - Well worth a visit.
Well that's it. I hope this review has been helpful and hope you all have as great a visit as we did. Happy Holidays!

Just returned from at weekend at this park, we had a great time, the kids loved it as always. The park has lots to do for all ages, and when the new water park facilities are open, which we have been told is this coming Thursday 1st May, (they were completing the finishing touches when we left) it will be even better. Like the previous review the shower block could do with updating. The drainage for the showers is virtually non existant and they could be cleaned more regular. Apart from that its a lovely place and when you only pay £30.80 for 6 people for a 3 night weekend break you cant go wrong. We will be going again.

Just returned from a 5 day break at Thorpe park and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only minor gripe were the toilet blocks. We were on a euro pitch so were nearer to the main toilet block which was always dirty. The drainage in the showers was awful, they flooded everytime they were used. After two nights this block had no hot water and we were directed to use the 'new' block in the camping field. The only problem with these blocks was that there were only 2 showers in the ladies and there must have been over 30 units on site. Apart from that the facilities for children were really good, there is easy access to the beach where you can walk for miles.
Just outside the site there are numerous things to do, pleasure island, bowling, parks etc. I would use this site again at the beginning of the season when indoor facilities are a must because of the weather and would say that this is one of the better haven sites to use if touring.

Just come back from a great week at Thorpe park, this site is one of the best we have been to, especially for kids. We stayed on a euro pitch which was slightly muddy where the awning was to go, but the warden let us pick where we thought would be best and you have enough hard standing, if not using an awning to move caravan over so the walk out of your door is paved.
Toilet blocks were being painted but seemed ok apart from code did not always work! The site has lots to do, but the pool does get very busy and there did not seem to be a good process in place to deal with this, but they are building a new outside area due to open in May which will ease things.
The Aquabar was great, a nice large open area with play area for younger kids, pool tables and TV's. The food in here was great, never had a bad meal and service was excellent all the time.
The show bar is your usual Haven stuff loads to keep kids entertained, but got a bit repetitive and they really push the merchandise here, I think the funstars were on commission!
The chippy near the touring site ran out very early on at night, but the showbar does takeaway food till late for that late night snack on your way home!
The local area was lovely, great beach, pleasure island next door, lots to do in town and lots of nice places to eat.
We will hopefully be going back in summer for longer.

This is the second time we have been, so was looking around a whole lot more than last time. This was a horrendous week for weather, rain, sleet and bad winds so we needed the facilities more than ever.
As I have said before, there is lots to do for kids. There are 2 main entertainment bits - the Aqua bar - which is a big bar/food area with a swimming pool and amusements attached, and the Showbar - a big entertainment/concert room with some amusements and shops inside.
The aqua bar is pretty good. It has a children's safe climbing area - although it has a 1m height restriction, the amount of big boisterous 12/13 year old kids scared some of the toddlers. It really wound me up to see the parents doing nothing. The staff should police this as it is an accident waiting to happen - a letter is being typed up for Haven.
The bar serves food, for the first time we tried it and it wasnt actually all that bad. Think medium rated pub food and you are about there. Hot, reasonable priced and served quite quick. We had a family starter platter which had potatoe skins with cheese, breaded chicken, garlic bread and onion rings. £9.95 and ok. It was curry night and wife had tikka with the trimmings and a free beer for £8.95 and I had a 1/2 burger with onion ring. The beefburger was ok but not 100% beef - cheapy burgers. I think it cost £7.95 but tasted ok. Wife said the curry was nice. There is a good kid's menu where you can pick each part - Ms P was too excited to eat it but it seemed nice.
There is a KFC down the road and a McDonalds. There is also a nice chip shop nearby too.
On a daytime there is quite a good itinery for kids up to teens. Ms P did some pirate making stuff and there was a different thing on every day. On a night there is the obligatory Haven bingo and dancing characters (staff in hot constumes) and music. Kids love it and this is where the complaint comes in - what about the grown ups?
Dont get me wrong, I like the fact kids are looked after, but apart from bingo and a night time disco there is no fun for adults. It doesnt have to be much, maybe Karaoke competitions or something like theme nights - 70s/80s. Maybe because there is only 1 concert room (Primrose valley has 3) that they stick to the kids.
On to the touring pitch. As said before, it is a you shape with room for the car and the awning goes onto the 'grass' - I say 'grass' as it was a swampy mud mess. This was the start of touring season so I thought some effort would have been made to repair last year's damage - but no.
Having a foreign van, they dont care about hitch in first so any wrong side door owners should be well happy.
There is water, TV point (which are F plugs or standard coax depending which post you are on) and drain. Some may need a long drain pipe attachment to reach the drain - but its worth it. If, unlike me you dont have on board water tanks and use external water hogs, then many had hose pipe connections for constant water - good stuff.
As I have said, freeview is easy here and if you dont have freeview, terrestrial tv is very good reception.
The site got flooded, not badly but some concrete pitches were submerged so be aware in rainy season that you may get wet shoes!
The toilet/shower blocks were terrible - very dirty - ok it's wet weather but that is no excuse. We used our own shower they were that bad.
If you have kids then come here if its likely to be bad weather. There is an outside ride/crazy golf/bouncy castle set up but this was closed due to bad weather. There is lots to do - read the whats on guide and make the msot of the free kids stuff on offer - the staff are very nice (of not a bit sickly nice) but for UK holidays Haven seem to be doing well. Being taken over by Bourne leisure has seen some investment. The complex is new looking and clean (shame about the touring park blocks).
This is nit picking though, I like Primrose Valley better - there is more on offer BUT we paid £19.80 for 4 nights, so all in all I cant complain at all. It was packed full of cheap holiday seekers, some a little savoury but again we enjoyed ourselves despite the bad weather which isnt easy to do.
The staff need to be a little more controlling of the kids as some of the little ones are overwhelmed by big kids in the little play areas. Security on the touring park seems high profile - on one night some local 'yoofs' were wandering about the park shouting and kicking things - security turned up in the cars and got rid.

Went to Thorpe Park for a weekend and with it being September was pleased that every thing was still open. Stayed on the basic Electric pitch which was slightly bumpy in places but easy to level the caravan. The field did have a tendency to become waterlogged in places when it rained but we were lucky and where we were seemed to be fine. The pitches were easy to find and conveniently placed for all amenities and close to the toilet block. To enter the mens and disabled/family toilets you had to key in a number which was quite easy to learn but with the ladies you didn't because it was missing. The toilets at times were a bit of a mess but with the amount of people using them that was to be expected. The entertainment was second to none, my kids who are 13 and 9 loved everything about the place from the swimming pool which we were in everyday to the shows at night they didn't want to go home. Overall a great holiday was had by all
