June 2005 Just got back from Thorpe Park, nice site, but touring field not so good. They had over-booked the field due to the good weather and instead of the 15 tents that should have been on there, there was double that number. Staff did help after I had complained and we were put on a basic electric pitch and told that we could stay there for the week.
Shower block has 4 showers 6 toilets and four sinks with mirrors. so very tight. This block is for the touring field and for basic electric pitches and euro. No electric points in ladies block and a funny hairdryer thing that was broke.
Cleethorpes itself is great my daughter loved it.
I would go back to Thorpe Park, but not with the tent.

June 2005 Just back on the 26/6/05 from Thorpe park. We stayed in a static van for a week. A very large park indeed!I checked out the camping facilities for the future, currently they do take tents, the field is fairly flat and very close to the beach should be fairly safe for kids.
The touring pitches were good with all the conections you would need. Toilets / showers were clean. Given the size of the camping area you might have a wait in peak season.
All the people I spoke to seemed pleased with things but this was out of main season. Not the place to go to for peace and quite but if you want clubs, bars, funpool etc then this might be for you.

June 2005 Just had another great week at this site. This is the second time we have visited this site and will definitely be back again. Yes the site is very large, but don't let this put you off. It is managed to the highest of standards, all the grass and shrubs are maintained daily, with no rubbish in sight.
The Euro Pitches have hard standing for both caravan and car with water, electric and tv and drainage facilities. Very Large pitches with plenty of shrubs between making them more private. The toilet facilities were immaculate with plenty of hot water.
The swimming pool, fun works, shop and launderett are all close to the touring area. The park even has direct access to the beach. The shop was a little expensive but a large 24 hour Tesco is only 10 minutes away by car. Beer prices weren't too bad at £7.95 for a pitcher.

31st May, 2004 This site is big!! At first I was put off of the site because of the size but it is very well kept clean and tidy. I didn't use the shower block. Down side for us was the pool although it is ok for smaller children my son and his friend both 12 were not impressed, it is mainly aimed at younger children however, they did like the pool at the local leisure centre in Cleethorpes approx 0ne and half miles up the road. I liked the walks and cycle routes. There was entertainment but not really our sort of thing although I might have stayed longer if it had been a smoke free zone. Pleasure Island was okay and provided a good day out. I can highly recommend the Bucket and Spade Pub in Cleethorpes near the pier very good value for money.

2003 I have visited this campsite on numerous occations and always enjoyed my stay, the toilets and showers are always clean and the younger members of the families have always been catered for. The only let down with this campsite is the fact that you have to have at least one person over 21 staying with you where as most others are 16 or 18. I was going to return with my fiance and my child this year. The reason this is such a big let down is because I know that I can depend on this site to fulfill my needs. But to anyone who is wanting to book a holiday and cater for everyones needs of any age even the O.A.P's this is the perfect place! I will definately return when I am 21.

21 may 2004 Just spent 2 nights, £7 p/n, very good but be warned i went to office to pay to leave at 1800hrs instead of the normal noon but was told it would be an extra £6, I then asked how much it would be for an extra night thinking we could then leave at anytime we liked i was amazed to be told it was only £2 for the extra night so it pays to ask, we will be going back.

24 April 2004 Just returned from a night at Thorpe Park. What a surprise! I have lived in Grimsby all my life (next to Cleethorpes) and could never understand why people wanted to come to Cleethorpes. Now I know. What a fantastic place Thorpe Park is!! Excellent pitches (we had a Euro pitch), only separated from the beach by a small hill. Few minutes walk to the entertainments complex. Wonderful pool with 'splash zone' feature which the kids loved (aged 10, 9 & 3). Excellent shower & toilet block. Code needed to open the door. Very good food in the Aqua bar, we had breakfast for 5 for £9.35, and there was too much for us. All in all a fantastic short break. There are also grass pitches with electric available, which weren't as nice, but are still more than acceptable and better than some. As for tents, there were definately tents there, maybe they have re-introduced these, as it sounds like they have made lots of changes this season after reading previous reviews. When we were there it was very quiet and pleasant. To sum up I would recommend this park to anyone with children or not.

Aug2003 Just come back from 4 wonderful nights at Thorpe Park, pitched next to the beach. With passes cost me £70 with £10 back on return of the shower/toilet block key....(although they were flooded at times). This included passes into the entertaiment complex each day and the nightly shows were good......
Overall a good holiday :-)

6/7/03 Phoned them this morning to enquire about prices and was told that they no longer take tents. That means there is now nowhere in Cleethorpes available to camp. Shame cos its a decent little holiday town.

11 may 03 Thorpe park is a typical large holiday park so obviously if your looking for peace and quiet its not for you . My tent was pitched next to the beach and so had a nice sea view. A buy one get one free offer enabled 4 adults to stay for 2 nights with elec for £16 . The entertainment was ok but as usual no bargains at the bar . Site shop was ok and did a bacon buttie for 99p . Pleasure island is very close and is a good day out .
