Another wonderful stay at this very peaceful site. A very warm welcome from friendly wardens, toilets/shower block spotless as usual.

This beautiful site is in a woodland setting with a river running through it.

A perfect base for walkers or those who wish to just chill out.

A visit to the nearby farm shop is a must.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Kendal site. We found it all as Caravan sites in the Country to be. Large pitch within sight of others but not intruding. We understand its not to everyone's taste to park caravan under trees but it hit the spot for us. Very friendly wardens and a good shop. Brilliant walks along the River Kent and just a few miles from Kendal We had a great few days. The TV reception works well too! Can't help but recommend it! Good walk leaflets in shop too.

This is the first time I have left a poor review for a caravan club site. I have stayed on a number and always been impressed.

The Kendal site though really needs a lot of work to bring it up to the same standard as other C/C sites. The roads around the site are in fairly poor condition. Also very narrow in some parts. Particularly the final exit before the wardens hut.

The planning of the pitches is ill thought out. With many you are reversing at a diagonal back on yourself to get into them.

While the site is a wood location, it does require maintenance to stop it becoming overgrown. Sadly this isn't taking place. The woodland weeds need to be controlled.

Most pitches I found to be very dark and depressing. A comment I heard from a number of other visitors. Perhaps some felling of older trees with a replanting program would help.

The toilets however were of the usual standard of the CC as were the wardens.

Location was good just as a stop-over. For staying in the Lakes it is too far to walk to Kendal and parking anywhere in Kendal is beyond ridiculous.

Would I return? Yes but only to use as a stop-over on my way somewhere.

An excellent three night stay here in May.

The approach road is a bit narrow in places but taken steadily and arriving/departing at right times assists greatly. Very warm friendly welcome by wardens, which continued throughout the stay, the best yet at a CC site. The speed humps are not as bad as some will have you believe just need to go very slow.

The site is quite large but the glades and dells that have the pitches make it feel very small and friendly.

Usual top quality toilet blocks x2 kept clean and tidy.

Pleasant walks direct from site, a bit far from village/town but local public transport not too far away.

Rained heavily on and off for the three days but still a lovely site and could well revisit but so many sites to visit and so little time.

The views say it all! Tranquil site, some hard standing, some very sloping, so worth while checking pitch location in advance. An enormously warm welcome, assistance with pitching and advice and guidance, easy check-in.

Two showers in gents, two toilet cubicles and two urinals, all meticulously clean and well cared for. Heated. Some provisions in reception.

Brilliant walk along riverbank from site to industrial estate with Morrison's and Aldi, taking no more than an easy ten minutes. Five minutes drive to Kendal town centre.

We visited this site in April 2014 and we all know what April means and that is showers, it rained for 2 days but the site was so good that the weather didn't bother us. Great site, great staff, great location. The site is on the old dynamite factory which was closed many years ago, there are still some old industrial buildings still standing that look very interesting, it is also by the side of the river Kent which is a beautiful sight when in full flood, white water canoeing also looks very good.

Just returned from 3 very peaceful nights at Kendal CC. Stayed on service pitch 80. Great elevated position. Lots of recent tree felling so light has improved. Facilities are spotless, staff very helpful. Be prepared to take levelling blocks as some pitches require these. On our last day they were installing bright yellow plastic speed bumps all around the site so be careful. Remember to leave before 12( we didn't as we had been for a walk and forgot the time due to it being so peaceful) and as we were leaving met arrivals on the narrow lane - sorry- but passing places were perfectly placed ! Don't bother with the Strickland arms. We went and it was dreadful. Try Kendal. Will definitely go back, but in expect it to be very busy in summer months due to size of site and number of pitches.

Don't follow sat nav post code as it takes you down the wrong single track lane on the opposite side of the river with no turning. We saw two people do this on one day !

Just back from a weekend at this site. It's our first Caravan Club site after joining recently and we were very impressed, especially with the Toilet Block / Shower facilities, which were superb.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming too.

The pitches are scattered around the woodland and it is quite hard to see exactly what's available and for some reason the map is a bit confusing (perhaps just us) so it is worth a walk around the site first to find a pitch you like.

We did the cycle ride to Grange-over-Sands and back that is featured on the CC site and it was great, if a little more hilly than described!

Strongly recommend the Hare and Hounds pub, which is a strenuous walk away but well worth the effort.

What a lovely site, with some of the nicest wardens you'll find.

Was spoilt for choice with pitches, found a quiet one within reasonable distance of one of the two immaculate toilet blocks, rarely found anyone else in there. By far the most sensible time to clean these I've come across on a Caravan Club site also.

We unfortunately had appalling weather whilst there but the local pub, the Strickland Arms, provided fabulous beer, great food and service, and welcomed the wet dog too.

Handy location for the southern Lakes, highly recommended.

Oh, thank goodness I had my lump hammer for the awning pegs!

When I turned off the main road my wife said ' you have taken a wrong turn as the site cannot be down here'. The further I travelled I started to doubt myself. The lane is very narrow. It has some short passing points but cars tend to sometimes park in these so their owners can go walking. Not for the faint hearted.

Once at the site met by the wardens who were very pleasant. Found a pitch on one of the lovely secluded areas within the wood. A tip is to see if there are any pitches free before driving into these areas as there is no room to turn on many of them which means you will have to reverse out.

Facilities are clean but there are only 3 toilets in the mens which results in queues a busy times.

The walks into the woods and down by the river are great if you have a dog.

The roads on the site are very narrow hence the one way system.

All in all a wonderful site in a lovely part of the country.
