Very well laid out site. We were able to choose our own pitch, spoilt for choice. All pitches are in woodland and very spacious and private. Lovely walks for the dogs. Site office sold milk and eggs, but that was about it, the toilet blocks were spotlessly clean throughout our stay. The only downside to this site is its location. Its about four miles from kendal and the village of sedgewick ., well there's nothing there! its half an hour walk to bus stop and then the buses are very in frequent. A taxi to kendal will cost a tenner. So motorhome owners, beware you will either have to use your motorhome for getting about or take a second car.

This was a quiet and pleasant site to stay on. All the pitches are hardstanding which is good if the weather is not so good. The toilets and shower facilities were always spotless and very modern. My son enjoyed the children's playground and there is a games room which kept him amused for hours. You can go for a walk along the river that runs through the site and we found an excellent pub in the village of Sizergh, The Strickland Arms, about a mile away from the site. A good base to see all the attractions of the Lakes. Would recommend.

Well first trip out with the caravan. Narrow lane with passing places on the final approach to it but not far from main road so very easy to find. Generous pitch size and beautiful setting in woodland. Play area is a tad small but in good order. Toilets are spotless, cleanest I've ever seen on a site. Shop has basic supplies to keep you going if you get short of anything and a chippy van comes on a Wednesday and Sunday. Lots of wildlife in the area (kids loved it) staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a really good site and will visit again 8/10.

In the words of my two children "fantastic"! It was all we could do to drag them off for one day's shopping in Kendal! A quiet site with spacious pitches. Exceedingly clean with plenty of water points which also included waste water disposal and Elsan points. The play area was quite good, we chose a pitch right next to it so it was a little noisy at times! The toilet/shower blocks were clean and the water was definitely hot! One word of warning it is a very hilly site so watch out for your kids on bikes! We will be using this site on a regular basis.

Well what a lovely site. Very clean and tidy site and toilet blocks spotless. Staff very polite and helpful. We struggled to chose a pitch as they are laid out in little bays with only about 8 pitches in them. We got our pitch in the start of a bay it was very peaceful. At 6am listening to the birds singing it was great. Especially 1 night listening to the owl. Our youngest 10 didn't mind the park but our eldest 15 was a bit fed up. We all enjoyed the walk along the river. Especially when our mate came down for the day and his dog was straight into the water. I am already looking to book again. Even our friends enjoyed the site and will be going there themselves.

WELL! The caravan club has done it again! As soon as you arrive you can feel all the stress of modern life leaving you. The arrival road is narrow with passing places but manageable as long as you don't arrive before 12. As you arrive along this road a winding river with all its beauty greets you up to reception. There you will be met by very friendly wardens who always have a smile for you. At reception you can get milk, eggs, bacon and the basics though it was very well stocked. The site looked like it has just been upgraded with a new toilet block and new pitches. We were sited near the new block with laundry facilities, disabled toilet and dish washing area. (We checked the other toilet block and that looked like it had just been re-done as well.) The pitches are well spaced on different levels arranged round ruin's of an old gunpowder factory that looks very romantic and lovely as nature reclaims it back. The trees all round the site are mature and add to the feeling of being close to nature. The children's play area was small but very popular with my 9 year old and she visited it daily. My dogs loved it here! Lots of walks branching off from the site and that lovely river at the bottom. Close by in Kendal you will find all that you will need including large supermarkets. If you fancy a meal I recommend The Strickland Arms, a very short drive or a nice walk from the site. All dishes are hand made, good sized meals and dogs are welcome too! Again, next door to the site is Low Sizergh Barn. This is a working farm with a viewing area so the little ones can see what happens at milking time, a trail to follow round some of the land and and a farm shop and tea rooms.lovely place to visit. We also visited the aquarium of the lakes. This is well worth a visit by young or not-so-young. From there we caught a Windermere Lank Cruise up to Bowness. This is magical. My 2 who are 15 and 9 didn't want to go until we boarded. When you get off at Bowness a short walk uphill will get you to The World Of Beatrix Potter. Sadly we didn't have time but others have said how good it is. We did have a meal at Gibbys in the town and again can recommend this to anyone. I cannot fault this site or its location. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return.

This was the most peaceful site I visited on my holidays. When we arrived with kids in tow we where almost embarrassed at the amount of noise they where making. (some of you may know what I am talking about) They settled down after an hour or so to our relief. The site was full of caravans and yet it was very private. 4 to 5 caravans to an area. Every one was extremely friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks are very dated, however they where clean and odour free. In my opinion the thing that most let the site down was the children's play area. Our girls love swings and slides and this site had a spare tire on a bit of rope and a modest wooden structure. However nice walks, and lots of things to do in the area meant they didn't miss out too much. I enjoyed my stay here so much I am going back next year.

Excellent wooded site. Friendly wardens when we were there. Nice dog walks. Some pitches are very private but nowhere do you get the feel of overcrowding. Childrens playground. We would certainly use it again.Has all the usual facilities expected on a Caravan Club Site.

We didn't like this site and judging by the other reveiws we are in a minority. We like a site you can see a view out of the window, it felt very closed in to us. To be fair tho the staff were friendly and helpful, the tiolets/showers were clean if a little dated. Very cheap also £23 for 2 nights August bank holiday, given the site is in the Lake District we thought it good value.

July 2004 We booked this site last minute for a short weekend break. What a pleasant suprise. The site is lovely, set in woodland, with many individual spots surrounded by trees etc. Shower blocks were clean albeit a little dated. We will be going back again. Nice walk from the site to Sizergh Barn for a few little luxury items if you want to treat yourself. Very pleasant weekend indeed.
