We have visited this site many times in the past. It has always been one of our favourites. The facilities i.E. Toilet blocks etc. Have always been clean and well maintained. The different areas make it more secluded, with only a few vans on each section. There are no shops in close proximity to the site , but Kendal is just a few miles down the road where you can get anything that you need. The Gateway Inn is just a few minutes drive away, and they serve excellent food. It's better to book for the evenings as they get very busy.Back to the site.
There is a children's playground, which in my opinion would be better if it were fenced off, for safety reasons, as the children can just run down the slope between vans and run into the road. Last time we went there were so many children riding on the roads within the site on bikes and scooters. I am not a killjoy, we have two grandchildren of our own, who for their own safety would not be allowed to do this. There is a one way traffic system on the site which for cars works very well, however it doesn't work well when children come flying at you on a bike going the wrong way. We have stayed at a lot of caravan club sites and the majority enforce the rules of not letting children be left unsupervised. So come on Low Park Wood wardens for the safety of all your guests adults and children alike, stop this play before there is an accident.

We visit this site at least once a year and it's lovely. We favour the pitches down in 'The Glade' near the road by the river, it's always peaceful and relaxed and the toilet / shower blocks have recently been refurbished and they are excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the shop sells good basics and the walks are lovely. The nearby Strickland Arms serves lovely food and we would always recommend staying at this site, well worth the visit.

Enjoyed this site a lot. Very secluded pitches, toilet block very clean although had to queue for showers. For nature lovers, if you walk up the river into the woods in the evening you can watch bats swooping over the river, a real experience.
Within walking distance of local pub, but no shops nearby. Some lovely walks though. Will definitely be visiting again maybe at a quieter time of year.

First time away in our new touring caravan and booked at late notice as the site that we had previously booked was under water! The staff could not have been more helpful and we even managed to get an extra night (on Bank Holiday weekend!) as all pitches on this site are hardstandings.
The site itself is very picturesque with all pitches in secluded areas in the middle of the wood. Facilities were always spotless and only closed in the middle of the afternoon.
The river Kent runs alongside the site and my 4yr old had loads of fun paddling and throwing stones. The Maize Maze at Sedgewick is also a must, set over 10 acres - stamina, wellies and a couple of spare hours are all that are needed!

We have stopped on this site a lot over the years mainly for overnight stops. Nice site with lots of room some lovely walks along the river. It always seems to rain when we are there which tends to make for a sleepless night under the trees. The price is a bit steep now like most club sites but I guess you get what you pay for.

Very narrow approach road to site. Found the site quite big and caravans seemed to be just pitched anywhere (even though they were proper pitches) we felt as if we were parked on a car park, I think it was hard standing but we were also on a bit of grass, it was very dark because of all the trees (don't expect to get a tan). We booked in for 3 days but left after 1 it was certainly not like any cc site I've been on before.

Difficult to manoeuvre about with caravan due to steep and narrow access to some of the pitches. Hard grey stone pitches feels like your on a carpark. Very shaded and wooded environment, so feels a bit claustrophobic. There is a very narrow access road to the pitch. Staff friendly and toilets good.

Narrow lane approach with passing places was ok.
Reception was quick and friendly could chose pitch on drive round. Narrow park roads with sharp bends was concerning. Hard standing was needed as was our mover. Toilet blocks very good. Trees and rain give sleepless nights.

The usual CC standard for Toilet/ Wash facilities and friendly staff.
Not far from the M6 so is ok for a short stop off if travelling North or South.
Some pegs can be gloomy due to the leaf cover, so try to pick an open aspect if possible but they are popular. If you have a dog check him/her for Ticks, during and after your visit especially if walking in the area. Strictland Pub, 10-15min walk do a reasonable meal and a good pint of Cask ale. Some weekends they may have entertainment. This is a popular pub even tho its out of the way. There are plenty of walks in the area but some can be muddy in wet weather and the kids should love wondering through the woods and along the river. Not too far from Kendle where there is a ASDA and Morrisons store for all your needs.
Road in is narrow but not a problem if you arrive after 12 which is stipulated in the site Instructions.

The lane to this site is very narrow so don't try and arrive before 12 noon as that is when people are leaving and you WILL have to reverse if someone is coming out. The site really is right in the woods and is pretty hilly. Kids love it as they can play in the woods and there is a playground, but we found it a little bit gloomy as the few more open bits were full. No dog walk but you can walk through the woods. There is a field down the lane and across a shaky bridge and you can let your dog off lead providing the cows are far enough away. However beware of cow pats! I had to wash my dog when he ran through one.
I'm sure many people will love this site but we felt a little claustrophobic after a couple of days. The toilet blocks close for an hour and a half for cleaning, which I think is excessive and it can be quite a hike up an down hills to get to one if the other is closed.
