Just been to this campsite didn't book and just squeezed us in on the last pitch. We are members of camping + caravan club and was reading about this site, it looked nice so decided to go. Its a nice site. Very clean and tidy. There was a lot of road noise as we were next to it, but after a while you don't notice it. Bit squashed together where we were but was ok
Pub that sold food adjacent to the site, but did not try it. Bus stop outside to Dartmouth, other side of road to Plymouth, don't know the price as we have a bus pass, but we paid 70p for the dog to ride all day

We came upon this site 'in an emergency' when they came to our rescue after a bad experience at another site just down the road. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly (they squeezed us onto their last pitch): so much so that we ended up joining the Camping and Caravan Club on their recommendation.
The site is level and fairly open, with some trees and hedges to break things up. We had pitch 15 in the corner amongst the trees, which was just perfect for a campervan. There are sea views from the entrance / reception and from some of the pitches. Although full, the site was quiet the whole time we were there. Facilities are absolutely spotless, a credit to the site.
Blackpool Sands is a pleasant 20 minute walk away, where the Venus Café does great food - we had supper and breakfast there. Dartmouth is walkable too - takes about an hour through some beautiful countryside. Rockfish on the quayside is a great place for a fishy lunch. Or you can take the bus, from right outside the site. We got the bus back from Blackpool Sands (too full to walk!) and we took a taxi back from Dartmouth - £6 for two of us.
We had a drink at The Deer Park Pub at the entrance to the site, which seemed clean and friendly and has tables and chairs outside overlooking the sea.
Can't praise this site highly enough. They turned our problem into a great two-night stay. We'll be back. Especially now we're Camping and Caravan Club members!

Just got back from a lovely, if windy, week at this site. The site managers were pleasant and helpful. There's a little shop in the reception and papers can be ordered. The site is well placed for a short drive into Dartmouth or to the beach at Blackpool Sands (no dogs allowed and have to pay on the car park).
We had a grass pitch with electric, pitch was a bit sloping, but not too bad and was well drained and not muddy. The hardstanding pitches are well laid out and there are plenty of grass pitches. The site is on the top of a hill just back from the coast and was really windy the whole week we were there.
The facilities were lovely, clean and modern. Plenty of toilets, sinks and showers. There weren't any cubicles with sinks in for those that like to have a wash rather than a shower. The showers were roomy, the water was hot, but the spray array was bizarre and came out like pressurised drizzle - took ages to wash conditioner out! I have yet to find a shower on campsites in this country suitable for showering young children.
The play area was good and our daughter enjoyed that aspect of the holiday, making several friends there.
The Deer Park carvery at the entrance to the site was okay. Food pretty average, but was well priced and there was plenty of it.
We enjoyed our week there and may well return, hopefully when the weather is a bit better!

We had a great stay at this lovely site. A great location, being perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful coastline.
The nearest beach is Blackpool Sands, a lovely beach but no dog access WHATSOEVER. Which brings me to another point. There is no on site dog walk on this site. If that is important to you, then best avoid. We made do.
We had a very warm welcome and help pitching our van, as the pitch was a little steep. The shop is well stocked and not overpriced. Papers can be ordered here, too. The WiFi was good on our pitch.
Toilets and showers were clean and numerous and the washing-up facilities looked good, too.
It is short drive to Dartmouth, where there is a huge new Sainsburys and an M&S food. Lots of choice of places to eat, including the on site carvery. We would be glad to return to this nice site.

Just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday staying at this campsite and would recommend for any families visiting the area.
The wardens and staff were friendly and welcoming at all times.
The children's play area was enclosed which made it safe enough to leave the children (age 7 & 4) playing happily while we went off to relax or do chores.
Plenty of hot water in the washing up area with double drainer sinks.
Lovely hot showers that do not operate with a push button. Variable temperature and large cubicles which made showering the kids easy. Plenty of them as well, never had to queue during the whole fortnight.
Facilities clean and well maintained.
Shop well stocked and not over priced, ice creams were cheaper than at the beach!

Came back on Saturday, after being lucky enough to land great weather, not too sure where to start but here goes. On arriving about one pm, was greeted by great cockney lady, who was really helpful, and quite a good laugh. As it turned out all of the staff were fantastic, and what ever they are paid its not enough. Toilets were spotless all week. Park itself was great, always cutting grass, and keeping tidy. We had hard standing, that was far enough away from next van to keep fairly private. Pub on site was great bonus, carvery meals every evening, not really too expensive for holiday site. Regular bus stops right out side site, in to Dartmouth, or Plymouth. Ordered newspaper at kiosk every day. We are already planning to go back, one of the best holidays for long time, thanks to all will be seeing you again

Fantastic site in a beautiful part of Devon. The site is very friendly, with good facilities, and is very well run by the CCC team.
Blackpool sands as about a mile away down a steep hill, and you are also in close proximity to Dartmouth.
There is a pub on site, serving basic pub grub, and good beer including real ale. It has just been refurbished, and has a nice atmosphere.
The local village has a shop and a fish & chip shop. 3 miles away in Dartmouth is a Sainsburys as well as a fantastic range of delis and restaurants.
Pitches are of a good size. We went for grass with EHU. Drainage was good as well(of course it rained!).

This is a really lovely park. Located perfectly for a trip into Dartmouth or many of the surrounding areas. We did catch the bus one day but on the Sunday, there are no buses so had to rely on getting taxis to and from Dartmouth as we were there for the music festival. The cost for the taxi was £6 although we agreed this fare over the telephone and were told its usually much more.
There is a little shop on site selling a few basics but the best bit by far is the newly opened Deer park Inn, great for a drink, a snack or a full meal. We had the Carvery and it was lovely.

Just returned from a 5 day trip to this site. Our first trip to Dartmouth & not disappointed. Lovely, clean, well kept site, managed by really friendly wardens. As reviewed, the pitches are a little on the small side for a 28ft van & car but it wouldn't deter us from returning. Deer Park Inn Carvery now reopened after undergoing major refurbishment. Offers carvery every day & also light meals. Staff & management very friendly. Meals very enjoyable. Dogs not allowed inside but nice garden. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. Dartmouth itself is lovely with plenty of shops & a trip on the River Dart & steam railway is a must. Would advise to use the park & ride at Sainsburys as parking very difficult. Will definitely be returning.

Visited this lovely site for a late break a few days before they closed for the winter. As everyone else has said very friendly welcome and nothing too much trouble. Toilet facilities superb and always spotless.
Dartmouth is one of the most attractive places in Devon and out of season not too busy. Parking is free for 2 hours along the esplanade if you can find a space. This gave ample time for a superb walk crossing to Kingswear by the Lower Ferry, walking along the footpath next to the steam railway line to return via the Higher Ferry. Lots of super shops to explore in the town.
Another super walk from the 'Little Dartmouth' N. T Car Park fairly close to the site takes in some breathtaking views along the coast and down to Dartmouth Castle ( a round trip of approx 2. 5 miles).
The wardens provided a specially typed route also of the walk down thro' Stoke Fleming to Blackpool Sands with the option of an hourly bus service back for the less energetic.
Slapton Sands and Torcross are within a 10 minutes drive where the moving story of the World War 2 evacuation of the local population from the area for practice use by the Americans for the D-Day Landings is commemorated. The poignant details of the ill fated Operation Tiger when so many of the soldiers died is also remembered.
Finally a little gem (but don't tell too many)was the visit to Dittisham a mile or so up river from Dartmouth. A tranquil village for messing about on the river.
My only concern was that the hard standing pitches didn't seem quite wide enough. At 5 metres it would have been a struggle to get a caravan, awning (if we'd erected one) and car on the pitch. Plenty of grass pitches for the summer I suppose but I did notice one large caravan with an awning was overlapping the caravan and awning on to the grass and had to put his car on another vacant pitch.
