A great site although I thought it a bit of a trek to get to. Booking in was easy and the wardens very friendly. The reception orders papers and is stocked well with basics. The site is sloping so levellers may be required. Hard standings are gravel but narrow. The sea can be seen from the site. The toilet block was large modern and clean with large shower cubicles. The dishwashing room was also large even with plastic dish racks. There is a motorhome service point (rare with C&CC sites in my experience). The Deer Park Inn is next door, owner was offering a good discount if you dined there in first two days. There are good walks from the site to the South West Coast Path. Dartmouth is a 30 min walk Downhill from the site (follow signs for Dartmouth Castle). There is a bus stop outside the site (No 93, £2 single fare) every hour. Opposite side of the road is bus stop for Plymouth (think its a 2 hour trip!).
Dartmouth is a lovely place, plenty of shops and restaurants. I recommend 'Saveurs' French Bakery on Duke Street for the most delicious cakes. I sat in and had a savoury Croissant and when my arteries had recovered a dessert of toffee Apple Flan fabulous! took some back for tea.
Dartmouth has good trips by boat and steam train. There is also a Theatre / Cinema.
A great site and worth a return visit.

This site was a fantastic base to visit the surrounding area of Dartmouth.
The toilet block was brand new and up to a superb standard as usual. Plenty of toilets and showers for all. There are washing and washing up facilities as well as usual waste disposal.
The children's play area is yet to be built. There really is a view of the sea from the site which is fantastic first thing in the morning.
There is a Pub right on site which provides excellent meals for all the family so this is a bonus. The next nearest being in Stoke Fleming, 5 mins down the road on foot. The bus service runs right outside the site and is very reliable. It is only 5 mins to Dartmouth where you can catch a Steam Train, use the foot or car ferry, or take various boat trips. There are all the shops you need as well.
There is lots of walking in the area along the coastal path or inland. All have fantastic views.
Will definitely return in the future.

I understand new people are now owning Deer park since we last went in 07.
We had a fabulous week at Deer park with a UKcampsite rally.
Clean toilets, great pool, good play area and ideally located to explore Devons beautiful south coast.
Toilets blocks nice and clean if a little cramped.
Bar for those who fancy a few pints.
A few miles from Dartmouth.
I would go again :)

We went this summer and eventually had a great 2 weeks holiday.
A nice site, officious and quite petty at times, staff, brilliant location.
Several complaints about their siting policy from other campers over the two weeks. Especially as the site had plenty of empty pitches. Management seemed to win each time.
On arrival, after a drive through the night in the rain, we were taken to our pitch next to the bins - we counted at least 18 - 20 empty pitches in the two fields at this time and not more than 12 were used over the two weeks.
Apparently, they were doing us a favour in pitching us as we arrived at 9am when we should have arrived at 12pm, sorry! We complained and were moved one pitch up. Just as we were set up we were told to move to the other side of the site as the pitch was reserved for a family party arriving a few days later (turned out to be a tent for the weekend). We moved and settled for being 3 inches from the post at the back of our pitch. 'That will have to do' we were told. An example of pettiness experienced by several other families. I don't know how many times I had to count to ten during our first day there but I got through it.
Anyway, a brilliant location with fantastic scenery.
A small shop on-site for essentials and a morning paper, if pre-ordered.
The gents toilets and showers were first rate but could do with the slatted wooden steps in each shower cubicle. The ladies were the same and could do with the wooden step to keep you away from the water overflow from other people's showers. All in all, clean and well kept - the free hairdryer was a nice touch.
The chemical toilet was easily accessible and clean too.
Laundrette was adequate and had a free iron available.
The dishwashing area was bright, clean and nice big sinks.
The on-site pub was undergoing refurbishment due to new management. The food was excellent and reasonabily priced. One pool table and one dart board and the place was dog friendly. At the end of the holiday though the manager asked my children to leave because they were playing pool and did not buy a drink! The only time in two weeks they didn't buy a drink! Apparently, he said the pub wasn't a games room for the site!
A petrol station 50 yards from the site and the local town of Dartmouth is 2 1/2 miles away. Plenty of little shops and pubs. A very attractive seaside town with the river at its heart. Lovely for a day out meandering through the streets to the museum, shops and pubs. The castle is worth a visit too. The August regatta is fantastic, so catch it if you can.
This site is very nicely situated to use as a base to explore. The family-run, lower ferry is great for a short-cut to Torquay with lovely views mid-river! As opposed to the larger, comercial, higher ferry with no views mid-river.
Blackpool Sands is fab, but there is a fee to park for the day.
All said and done I would return to the site as it is a great area to explore and they weren't that bad if you know what to expect.

When we arrived it was in constant drizzle and to top it all it'd been raining for the past week in and around Dartmouth but the pitch was surprisingly in good condition and appeared to have great drainage.
The facilities are good plenty of toilets/showers/wash basins, my only grumble is the shower didn't seem to have a good spray and varied from shower to shower however you could still get a hot trickle going.
One thing I did notice that might be worth noting for tenters is the bottom field which had no electric hook-ups got very boggy due to the rain, especially the entrance but the owners did the best they could by putting hay or some hard core down for traction, so if I was to book again I book a tenting pitch it'd be with a hook-up even if I wasn't going to use it as these pitches appeared to be better.
The play area was adequate and would keep any child entertained but we visited the boozer at the bottom of the park and on the outside it didn't look too appealing but walking inside it didn't appear much better so turned around and out again so can't comment much further on it.
The camp shop/reception has the basic essentials and is more than adequate.
On the whole I think Dartmouth camp site is a credit to its owners / staff as this is a tip top site and well looked after, yes there are some niggles that I've highlighted but none that would put me off from visiting again.

Have spent 10 days at the site, which we loved. Good location for exploring South Devon with distant sea views and good facilities. The facilities were clean, despite muddy conditions on occasions, with 5 showers in each of the gents and ladies blocks. Occasionally had to queue but this was August and the site was busy. Small shop on site provided the essentials, also a small petrol station and shop very close by. Children enjoyed the playground and there was plenty of space around the pitches to play too. There is a local pub at the entrance to the site, but there was no noise heard from this during our stay. Local shops in Dartmouth and new supermarket opening this month. Local leisure centre and outdoor swimming pool and cinema in the town. Parking in Dartmouth is difficult when busy, but there is a park and ride not far from the site and a bus stop outside with hourly buses. Short drive to beaches at Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both which have adjacent parking. The site did become muddy after rain and much of the site does not have tarmac roads. We would definitely visit again.

Just had a fabulous two days here (next time it will be longer). The pub at the entrance has now re-opened but was rather a disappointment - perhaps they will get the formula right soon. The bus stop at the gate allows plenty of exploring without taking your own vehicle off site, however the last bus back from Dartmouth is 6.05pm, although in such a tranquil location this is not a problem just a good reason to socialise if you want with other campers.

Lovely clean site, facilities were perfect, although maybe a little pricey but you only get what you pay for! Playground was okay for children (mine are 7 and 10). Blackpool sands a lovely beach, a little over a mile away, bus stop outside site much better in the summer. Pub is not yet open, no proper shop on site, garage in walking distance. A perfect location for South Devon, Dartmouth and a good beach.

Beware! This pleasant site has been taken over by the Camping and Caravanning Club with little improvement in facilities but vastly increased prices. To be charged £22 for two people in April is about 50% more than comparable sites in the area. The members' rate of £16 is still excessive, given the lack of facilities: even the pub is shut up at the moment with a sign saying 'under offer'. The toilet block has been rebuilt and looks shiny and new, but in terms of use is actually worse. For instance the WCs are the kind that 'saves' so much water that one flush is replaced by three, then you resort to the brush! We moved on to the River Dart Country Park: much cheaper, far more pleasant surroundings, extensive play areas, free wireless internet etc. If the Camping and Caravanning Club want to keep the good-will of the camping public they need to 'get real' with their pricing.

Arrived on site at 11am on Friday the 13th with only one hiccup on the way. Site was very nice, situated next to a pub for all you alcoholics out there.lol. Toilet blocks where OK and showers too but were a bit slow to warm up depending on which shower you used. Dog friendly site that didn't have a dog walk, you had to take the dog out the site and on the main road to a field down the way or cross the road from the park. Site said "dogs fouling on site will be asked to leave" which is fair enough but when you don't have a dog walk can be a pain, but lucky we never had a problem on that one just a note to future camping folk with dogs. Loads of hills so if you have a slow car be warned. shopping could be a night mare unless you went into Dartmouth which has to be said one of the loveliest harbours I have ever been too. Woodlands near by OK but for tenner for Adults or kids was steep for what was there. Beaches where lovely Blackpool sands(stoney.)was not a dog friendly beach but 10mins down the road there was slapton sands stoney also. only wardens on site and reception was only open twice when we went past, don't think they sell calor gas either. Over all a nice site and area but been there done it think the narrow roads put us off a little.
