Second visit here and it never lets you down. The site is clean tidy and run in a very professional and friendly manor.
Added bonus of a first class restaurant on site. Clean showers and toilets with a fully serviced pitch.
Staff were friendly and helpful, also a golf centre within half a mile.

This is the most amazingly calm getaway spot, as good as you're going to find!
We stayed for 2 nights in a tent (plot with electric & water hook up), wish we could have stayed longer. The staff could not have been nicer or more welcoming, they really do relax you and put you at ease. You are given the number to call if you need anything or have to report anything (which I highly doubt you will!) so you always have someone around if you need.
They pride themselves on being a tranquil location and as such ask that all noise level is down to a minimum at ALL times, therefore this is not for you if you like to play your music loud or have dogs you cannot prevent barking.
The sunsets here are amazing - if you don't mind climbing a small hill to get to your site from the facilities (steep but fairly short - trust me its worth it) you will have the benefit of being above the trees and see the endless miles of flat green land and gorgeous sunsets.
The facilities were clean, well stocked and never busy, never had to queue for a shower and they were fully booked when we stayed.
There's a community freezer for anything you want to keep cold, separate spacious washing up station & outside space with picnic benches to use. The Barn itself is impressive and the bar is well stocked and have the say the food is absolutely delicious, chef was lovely enough to take our order even when we turned up after service had finished.
A 5 min walk down the road you have a golf centre with I believe 42?! holes, bar, restaurant, driving range & ten pin bowling! Its great for breakfast (Served 8-10am if I remember correctly) then lunch etc. Well worth a walk down it was £8 for a buffet all you can eat breakfast & tea/coffee.
All in all, we came away so well rested and as if we really had been away for longer than just 2 nights. Highly recommend & we will be returning, thank you Stroud Hill!

We booked late but they handled this well. We had a lot of space. Everyone was very friendly from the wardens to the other campers. Facilities were excellent and clean and well maintained.
The wardens were very helpful and friendly and ran a good clean, and disciplined site. Could not fault anything. Helpful in finding local shops and the butcher I went to had an amazing array of sausages.
Would recommend Johnsons to anyone.
Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

We went to this site largely due to the previous reviews and as we like the Cambridgeshire area.
The site lived up to All the reviews
The reception is welcoming and laid back
The serviced hard standing pitches are laid out with space for all
The Toilet facilities are clean and well presented with room
The charges are reasonable although we didn't get to use the restaurant
The site is quiet and peaceful but windy at times
It was busy over the week end but still enjoyable
I'm sure we will return

I knew we were going to have a great weekend from the moment I spoke to one of the wardens on the phone. Such a friendly response, even though we had never visited before! It was clear when we arrived that although she was busy, the warden was not prepared to cut corners in terms of the personal service she offered to each guest. The best welcome we have experienced in 32 years of caravanning!
Some of the pitches are sloping, so you may need to bring extra blocks to help with levelling.
The site is beautifully maintained with excellent, spotlessly clean facilities. The Barn restaurant, although pricey, is a not-to-be-missed experience. Book when you book your pitch to avoid disappointment. There are other local establishments which serve food, the nearest being the Golf Club (not recommended - dreadful attitude to customers!)and the Mad Cat pub, which serves lovely food and has a much more healthy response to customers!
We had a water leak which could have ruined our weekend, but the wardens arranged for a local caravan repair company to come out to us and the problem was sorted within the hour.
A recent development has been the introduction of a musical evening on bank holiday weekends. This was great fun, but as it is simply guitar and harmonica, and ends at 10pm, it will not disturb those who wish for quiet.
The whole area is beautifully peaceful. If you need to relax and de-stress, this is the place to come!

Just stayed 4 nights at this lovely site. This was our third visit and won't be our last. Facilities very clean as always, and the site wardens were very friendly and helpful. The only word of warning to any newcomers would be to make sure you have extensions for water hose and grey waste hose to make use of the super pitches as they can be a long way from the van depending on which pitch you take. Also some leveling ramps might be needed.
We had a walk from the site to the Windmill pub for Sunday lunch which was really nice. Took just under an hour but was well worth it.

We have just returned from a very wet and windy Easter weekend at Stroud Hill - this is our second visit. We were met by the two very friendly young wardens (and gorgeous Colin the dog!) nothing is too much trouble for this couple they go out of their way to help people. They recommended and gave us a map of a nice walk in the area which also incorporated a pub stop! This is an excellent well kept quiet site with a superb restaurant and incredible staff. We will keep returning!

We arrived at about 18:00 and were met be two friendly wardens and after a chat I asked about the fishing tickets for Saturday. I was then informed that I could not fish due to a wedding, they then informed me that the lake was closed. I was disappointed about this as this is the reason we booked here, I was told I booked too early as the wedding had not been booked then. Would it have hurt to email us? It got worse when I asked about disabled access to the lake I was told that I had to carry all of my kit up the hill, not a feat I was willing to attempt as I have a heart condition. There are not enough toilets or showers for 60 pitches and the waste wate drains on the pitches are up a slope! The site is very beautiful with loads of wild life, it was lovely to hear the owls at night and there was a lot of them. A very disappointing stay as far as the fishing was concerned, as I could have used one of several other sites in the area that have fishing. Overall I give the site 7/10, this is marked down for the waste water and fishing, as it should state that there is no disabled access to the lakes.

Just returned from a lovely weekend on the site. Facilities are spotless and wardens are lovely. We ate at the Barn restaurant and the food was lovely. The owner lets out one of his barns for private functions now and during our visit the noise was very loud and ran on until early am Saturday morning. Shame as this has now spoilt what was once a lovely peaceful park. I would recommend you ensure there are no private functions on when you book.

Stayed here in May 2015 and were very impressed with the site. You pull into a large car park outside reception on arrival, and then invited to walk around the site to choose your own pitch.
The toilet and shower blocks were kept spotlessly clean.
We ate at the on-site 'Barn' restaurant one night and we had a lovely meal - staff were very friendly and food was reasonably priced.
We've already booked to return in August!
