What a lovely site. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Site was nice and flat. Toilets ideal for disabled and old age, very clean. Loads of space between campers. On site shop for groceries. We were there for 8 days and cannot say anything bad about this camp site. Short drive to the beach. Some nice pubs not far from site that do some brill meals, very reasonable. Mumbles only about 30mins away. Will definitely be going back. This was my second visit here. Give it a go you won't be disappointed

We got home yesterday following 6 fab nights staying here. We booked a pitch with electric and although we have a huge tent there was plenty of space for us.
There is lots of space to fly kites or kick a ball around. Our kids found a woodland copse with a stream and came back happy and muddy!
The toilets are clean with lots of loo roll! The showers are clean with loads of free hot water worked by a push button. Recycling facilities are available. Very dog friendly with separate dog walking area.
Big Al's icecream van causes lots of excitement between 7. 30 and 8. 30 every evening. £1 gives the children a Feast style lolly, flake screwballs (ask the kids !) or a fruit lolly each.
The shop has the essentials at a fair price. Camping bits, food, toiletries and outdoor toys.
All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. They had a huge event happening after we left but they always were available to help.
Worth asking the staff about the local community cafe and saltmarsh lamb. Both are well worth experiencing.
We want to return as soon as possible !

I love Kennexstone; I have stayed there twice now and have just booked for my next visit. The site is not too large and there is plenty of room for your tent, you're not too squashed in. If you book for hook-up much more room is designated for your tent, whereas if you don't there are no designated pitches so someone could pitch fairly close if they wanted to - but why would they?
The site is immaculately clean: toilets, showers and washing up facilities. They have a really good system where they have two different rooms for toilets so they lock one to clean it, leaving the other open for use and vice versa, this works really well and means that they are always clean. The toilet block has been recently renovated so is in really good condition. The washing up area can sometimes be a little busy but it you time it right it shouldn't be a problem.
The water taps, bins/recycling areas are located in the centre of each field which works really well. Basically, it's a really well thought out site which runs smoothly.
There is a small shop which is fairly well equipped and the staff are exceptionally friendly!
I went with just my husband once and in a bigger group the other time and I felt the site worked well for both. It seemed great for families and children.
The site is also only a few miles away from Llangennith beach which is beautiful.
I would thoroughly recommend!

We delayed our stay by a day due to heavy rain, but were pleasantly surprised by the excellent ground; you would hardly know it had rained. We were booked in by friendly staff, at the small shop which seems to have all the essential and given a map showing where we could pitch, but there was plenty of space.
The facilities were faultless with modern and immaculate toilets and washing facilities. There is a wooden building with sinks and drainers with hot water to wash your dishes properly, also clothes washer and dryer and a freezer for your cooler bag freeze packs. In addition to a rubbish bin in each field, there are recycle bins for bottles, cans, etc.
Basically the owners have provided for all the essentials and done so very well. The site is central to W Gower so a short drive to all the best beaches, and rates for small tents very reasonable.
The owners opened the gates early for those of us doing a mass skinny-dip at Llangennith, which was quite an experience! -So a memorable weekend, and a great site

I really liked this site, although we hadn't pre-booked for the Saturday night we were well accommodated (they don't take bookings for one night, similar to many places).
It was so nice to be greeted by friendly staff at reception who were very cheerful and helpful - it really set a nice tone for our stay.
Pitch was very slightly sloping but it was no problem at all. Facilities were spotless (in the ladies there were 6 loos, 5 basins and 6 showers through a different entrance.
Come night time (and the following morning), another door was opened revealing more loos and basins. Sorry I can't speak for the gents, but I assume it's the same!
I would definitely come here again, I just hope the noisy people who kept us awake until 12. 30 stay down the road next time! Saw the ice-cream van - but too full to partake this time.
Lovely walks in Oxwich and Rhossili.

Our second visit, we visited last year and the site was very quiet, the facilities were so, spotless shower block and generally clean everywhere.
This time the site was very busy, nearly all the pitches were taken with campers in the middle of the field. This did detract from the spacious feel of the site we experienced last year, but still the shower block and toilets coped well.
Overall we will use again when we visit the Gower again.

Firstly, I have absolutely no agenda. I attended this site as part of a large group. We were here from Friday through to the following Monday. I would suggest if you're looking to book a rally here, book elsewhere.
The site is in 'The Gower', around 30 minutes west of Swansea. It is in the middle of the country and completely unimposing.
On arrival, we were read 'The Rules'. No unusual rules although we were asked to wait until a larger number were in the office so that we could be read to 'together'. It felt a little like school.
We were instructed to our pitch.
Now bear in mind that I would estimate our group took up around 150 pitches and the site was far from full before reading on.
I am used to both rallying and also privately camping. The difference I guess is the cost. When we are alone, we expect to pay full list price and for extras - gazebos, awnings, pup tents, cars, kids, dogs and so on.
When we bring 500+ people to a rally, we usually expect as a site makes around £6k just for site fees (before extras), there's usually some room for negotiation - perhaps free awnings/gazebos or a late getaway on the Sunday / Monday.
Not here. Not only that, we were badgered constantly (do you have a sticker in your spare car? Have you paid for that pup tent etc. ). I appreciate people need to make a living, but we were made to feel like criminals.
As for the site, the toilets are very nice. The electric pitches are generous and the site is well looked after.
I don't think I've ever left a negative review - and I especially didn't for this site because everyone is so positive and I guess if we'd been privately, this wouldn't have been an issue.
Finally, the price. A family we know was charged £40 a night. That's extortionate for a site with no play facilities or come to think of it, any facilities other than toilets and showers.

Just finished another fab trip to Kennexstone. We arrived on the Thursday of the half term week and it was choka block. But the facilities coped admirably. By the time we left the following Thursday there was only us and one other tent in the main (right hand) field!
The beauty of this site is it's simplicity. Big fields, big EHU pitches sheltered by well established hedges, clean and bright welfare facilities, friendly staff, well stocked shop, less than £30 per night (incl EHU). All quiet by 10.30 - mostly families, kids exhausted by running around. Ice cream van visits around 830 during holidays and at the weekend.
One improvement would be a dedicated kids area - rather than finding a space between the tents - for footy, etc.
For eating out go to the King Arthur in Reynoldston (book at the weekends, it's that popular). Great specials board, kids get proper food, not chip shop sausages, and at least 4 real ales. Four of us, incl drinks came to £50 for our last night treat.
National Trusters should park up at Southgate and then walk across the headland to 3 Cliffs, gorgeous.
The best bit about the Gower is that you have wet day activities in Swansea - the free national waterfront museum easily filled a soggy day -and an opportunity for retail therapy.

This is a proper campsite, perfect pitch for caravans with plenty of space for awning and car,
Very clean and well thought out toilet and shower block. Small shop that sells most things except newspapers and very friendly staff who know how to assist customers.
I would recommend this site and we visit here about 3 times a year.
There is no play area but the children can play any where in the park including a small wooded area which my younger ones loved
Lookout for Als ice cream van who visits the site every evening, even though, ice cream and lolly's are available from the small shop
Could do with a pub or chip shop near to purchase food or a visiting chip van

Thank goodness these friendly chaps at Kennexstone had room and an excellent idea of what customer service is all about when we found ourselves on the site from hell last weekend & welcomed us to their site.
Once again, the place was spotless & faultless. I don't know why we didn't just come here in the first place.
The showers are lovely, masses of hot water & plenty of elbow room so I was told, in the gents cubicles & no horrid cold shower curtains that stick to you.
The pitches are massive, flat (very important for us tenters!) and we had no problems with any of our electric hook ups (which we have had at some sites) even when running kettles & electric hot air blowers.
Thanks guys, see you next may day weekend :)
