We are a couple in our twenties and stayed here for five days, including over the weekend.
This is exactly my kind of campsite! Sometimes the actual camping is spoilt by too many shops and the like! Here, there was plenty of space to pitch your tent, the ground was good and soft. They'd recently finished a new toilet and shower block, which was well kept and cleaned. The shop also had a selection of the basics that you need to keep you going.
Other than that, there wasn't much else, but that was the beauty of it! It was a great campsite and I will definitely be staying there on my next trip to the Gower. It's a fabulous location for exploring the peninsular and I would highly recommend it. Customer service was outstanding.
Also, if you get the chance, try out the 'Talons and Tea' at the Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre - great value for money and a pleasant end to your day!

What a lovely campsite, my partner and I just stayed at Kennexstone for 5 x nights. The facilities were excellent, the toilets and showers cleaned regularly and there was hot water in the showers any time during the day. The shop on site was well stocked, also liked the availability of a freezer, and washing machine in case needed. We have children but did not take them, shame as they would have loved it lots of open space to run around and lots of other children to play with. Having said that it was a nice quiet family campsite. Would recommend to anyone.

It's clean, the showers are fab & it's dead easy to get to. Whole site is incredibly well organised and staff very friendly & helpful.
Electric hook ups were around the edge of the field & the pitches were VERY well signed & allocated. The middle of the field we were in seemed like a free for all if you had a tent & no hook up.
Kids loved it, a play area would have got them away from the camping area (which the adults would have appreciated) & the set up being the way it was, it's certainly doable HINT HINT!
Showers & toilets were clean (surprising really as the site was very very busy and it rained like nobody's business on saturday & everything got muddy & well stocked with loo roll & soap at sinks.
Even though it rained and rained & rained, the gateways didn't poach up with traffic which although wouldn't have stopped us in our 4x4 could have proved difficult for our friends in their normal cars.
However, we've since bought a caravan & judging by how busy the fields were by 6pm, if we got there after work with our unit we'd never be able to get to a service pitch which is a shame.

Just got home from a week at Kennexstone, what a fantastic campsite! Dorset is our usual camping destination but after a great week camping on the Gower in late September last year we had to go back.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the facilities are well maintained and clean. The shop is open from 7am - 11pm and stocks everything from a Mars bar to a body board!
We arrived mid afternoon on Sunday, checking in was quick and easy and the field we were booked in was empty apart from a handful of tents. We were with another family who had a boat and this was accommodated free of charge in a field next to the office. We had a huge pitch with a hook-up giving us plenty of room for our Vango Amazon 800 plus chairs, table, BBQ, car and trailer.
Kennexstone is well situated for the best beaches on the Gower - a 10 minute drive to Hillend at the Northern end of Rhossili Bay, 10 minutes to Broughton Bay, 15 minutes to Port Eynon (great fish and chips)and 15 minutes to Oxwich where we used the slip to launch the boat - (fishing is great for bass) and you can walk along the beach to Nicholaston Burrows and at low tide around the Tor to 3 Cliffs Bay.
Mumbles is lovely if you're missing the hustle and bustle or need a supermarket, there's also a supermarket in Killay which is on the outskirts of Swansea. You'll find that there are plenty of residents selling their produce locally on the Gower, we bought everything we needed this way.
Although the campsite got busier on Thursday and Friday with the weekend campers, it didn't feel overcrowded and the loos and showers could easily cope.
I couldn't recommend this campsite highly enough and will definitely be returning.

What a find this site was. I initially went to stay at Hillend by the beach but they didn't allow dogs and so moved on to this site where the dog was very welcome and well catered for with a dog walking area and a dog friendly beach close by.
There was loads of room and we were allowed to pick our own location. The pitch was spacious and flat with hedge shelter.
The toilet block was immaculate with plenty of space and hot water. There was also an outdoor shower where you could clean off wetsuits.
Staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful with a well stocked shop.

This was about a mile away away from the madding crowd, sheltered from the sea breeze and a delight.
Loads of room, small well stocked shop, fantastic facilities, separate disabled shower, very friendly staff.
Will be back!

This was my first camping trip as a family and I was slightly nervous about the whole thing. The camp site was going to make or break me as a family camper.
We were made to feel most welcome on arrival and told to pitch where ever we wanted to. The first field looked full to us so settled on second field. As the afternoon went on it got busier and busier, and I was starting to worry about how crowded it was going to be, but the owners opened up the gateway to the third field. All three fields were flat. We stayed for 8 nights and did not have a single complaint all week.
The toilets and showers were ALWAYS spotlessly clean, never once had to queue to wash or use toilet and only once for the showers, but this was sorted by using them before 8.30am or after 8.30pm.
We did have trouble with very noisy neighbours one night who carried on squealing and being generally noisy until 1.00am but when mentioned to the staff next morning, they were given a warning and remained quiet for the rest of our stay.
The only thing that I think could be improved is the washing up facilities, as at the weekends the camp was full, but there were only 4 sinks, for over 200 pitches, which means quite a long wait, for a boring job!
We would defo recommend Kennoxstone and I am sure we will visit again.

First the good bits:
Excellent location - pitches are fairly flat and there is plenty of room. Shower/toilet block is quite new. Owners are very friendly. Shop is basic but there is enough for your needs. We arrived on a Wednesday and there was plenty of room to pitch up out tent. Site was quiet after 10:30
Now the not-so-good bits:
Site gets VERY busy towards the weekend and the showers and washing up facilities just cannot cope - estimate around 150 tents there and there are just 4 showers in the mens' block and 4 washing up sinks. Although the owners to try to enforce the noise rules this does not help when you have groups of lads whose main luggage seems to consists of beer and cider. We were kept up until 2 a.M. And then 3 a.M.
Nice for Sunday to midweek - avoid weekends!

A pleasant site, with pleasant views and a good location.
This was a quick one weekend visit to the Gower which was made all the more pleasant due to this site (and the weather!).
The site was pretty spacious and you could choose where you camped (we don't want electric). The price was good and the shower block was modern and clean.
The entrance to the site was a little scruffy but the site itself was pretty tidy, and there was very little noise and plenty of room for the children to play.
I would use this site again.

Stayed 2 nights, could easily do a week at this site. Pitches flat and spacious, ample toilet/shower block (and very clean considering it's proximity to the beaches) owners apply the site rules discreetly but firmly, it did become quiet at around 11pm. Llangennith, Llanmadoc, and broughton beaches are under five minutes drive away. Staff are knowledgeable of the area and saved us a lot of time map reading. All in all a proper camp site with owners with proper people skills, great location for the gower attractions. Highly recommended, will return !
