We found this site on the website and booked for nights stopover. First impressions were very favourable & very pretty. The toilet/showers were clean and tidy with nice hot water. There is a nice looking restaurant/bar but unfortunately it was closed the night we were there. The pitches by the lake are a nice size if not particularly flat, but that could be worked around. The owners were friendly and helpful and there were quite a lot of return campers showing standards are kept high. We will be returning and intend it to be for more than a night. It has also restored our faith in British owned sites!

The owners of the campsite were very friendly and made us very welcome from the moment we arrived.
We only stayed one night on our way down to Spain. Would stay again, we had our 5 yr. Old son with us and there many other children to play with.
The pizzas were lovely prepared by the owner Peter and were a delight to eat especially after a long journey
Would stay again, not a very bit site but that is the way we like them.
Once again thanks for a lovely stay

We have just returned from a week at Forest View. We had a very relaxing week and Adam even caught a fish!
Peter and Sarah were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening meals and the chance to meet other guests too, something we haven't done before however, can highly recommend.
We now understand why people keep returning year after year.
The facilities are clean and never any queues at the showers.
The location and views are stunning, some really pretty walks and beautiful villages within walking or cycling distance.
All in all an amazing site for a perfect getaway.

Well I can not really add any more comment to the previous reviews. Its all been said the owners made us most welcome and the camp-site is a gem in a lovely country. As it was just me and my wife touring France we decided to have a lake view pitch. It was magical a lovely view every morning. Spot on facilities. And met some lovely people. Such a shame we could only stay for a few nights. Trust me you will not regret staying a this site. We will be back

My wife and I have just ( reluctantly ) left Forest View after a short but really rather magical stay with Peter and Sarah. From the moment we arrived and met Peter we were overwhelmed with his kindness and advice. Nothing would ever be too much trouble for Peter and Sarah, they really are an amazingly nice couple.
In Forest View they have created a really rather special campsite. Surrounded by glorious countryside Forest View is a haven of peace. The toilet, shower and washing facilities are just right. Clean, spacious and modern and designed by Peter and Sarah you can tell that much thought has gone into them.
The meal we had in the restaurant ( cooked by Sarah ) was an absolute delight and we met some really nice fellow campers.
Forest View seemed to us to generate warmth and good feeling, there is just such a nice ' buzz' about the place.
Peter is a wonderful host, always willing to stop and chat and he gave us some good advice for our further trips abroad.
Every once in a while you chance upon a place you don't want to leave or meet people that you don't want to forget
Well Forest View is that place. And Peter and Sarah are those people.
Ian and Sue.

Was disappointed with this site in view of the reports.
Booked a Motorhome pitch for our 23 foot Motorhome. Told to park the Motorhome on a gravel area that is basically the campsite entrance area with a grassed slopping pitch down to the lake at the side of the van. Due to the unevenness and large amount of gravel was impossible to get the van level despite using levelling blocks and the van was permanently at an angle. Pitch wasn't very private with people walking across it taking short cuts, and due to the van parked in the entrance area, people were constantly looking inside on their way to the wifi/toilet areas. Road outside was busy and quite loud at times.
Probably the worst campsite pitch we have stayed on, and in the end we left 2 days early as we couldn't cope with continually walking at an angle in the van and the pitches lack of privacy.

Management response: Sarah and I are truly sorry you were the only clients to have used our motorhome pitches and not been able to get level, however you are acutely aware of why that was. Regrettably, when you made your reservation you failed to mention that your motorhome had been heavily modified to accommodate your wheelchair dependence. Vitally, this included a 2m extending hydraulic wheelchair lift that made normal positioning of your motorhome virtually impossible. This resulted in you moving your motorhome further and further into the gravel entrance way forcing other clients to walk around your motorhome to gain access to the restaurant and showers.
It is customary if not prudent to inform a campsite when you have such special requirements and seek their advice as to how best they may be catered for, particularly 21 pitch rural sites such as ours. In this instance you did not. Had you done so we would have recommended an alternative location but by the time you arrived it had been reserved.
Every year Sarah and I accommodate all sorts of special requests and preferences – all are treated with the same importance. We only wish you had taken a moment to make us aware of your particular needs so that we could have helped you to enjoy your stay in this delightful place. |

What can I say, EXCELLENT in every way. Peter and Sarah are such helpful genuine people. The site is divided into three distinct areas, one suitable for children, one for fishermen and a quiet area, which we chose.
We did not really use the toilet block but I did go in once, they are new and were spotlessly clean.
We do not have young children so could not comment on the facilities for children.
The bar serves pizzas which Peter expertly builds himself, defeated my wife and came close to beating me, great value. They also do a couple of nights a week when Sara does cooks a set meal, which is superb, great value and a nice way to meet other people. Book early as it is very popular.
This is one of the most restful and relaxing sites we have used and we will be booking again for next year.

First visit. Forest View is precisely what the owners describe it as - 'their little piece of paradise'. A Beautiful and tranquil setting with large pitches. Peter and Sarah are the perfect hosts - the perfect combination of a personable and professional approach. Delicious ' plat de jour ' 3 times a week and fresh home made pizzas on alternative evenings, all prepared by Sarah. Thank you. We have already made real friends and will be returning in September, after which our van will be stored ready for 2016, when we hope to enjoy more happy holidays.

We stopped here for a couple of nights with our two dogs and we had a lovely time. Very chilled out and peaceful campsite. A warm welcome, generous pitch sizes, excellent toilet and shower facilities and even a lovely field where your four legged friend can stretch their legs off lead. We had pizzas one night and a nice cold beer from the bar. Would definitely recommend this site.
