We stayed here with our bell tent on the way to the Loire valley from Calais; a lovely spot with very welcoming hosts. Very quiet, and good facilities, with a good supermarket close by. We had an inch of rain during one night but the site drains very quickly, fortunately. Watch out for ants though if you're in a tent-we did have quite a few but we were close to the edge of the site where there are probably more than in the middle. Nice place-good for kids too as very safe for them to run around.

We had 10 days at Forest View and if you want a quiet peaceful holiday in a rural setting then this is the place. The nearest town is 5 minutes drive, it has a supermarket and little else, there are bars and restaurants around but all are a drive away, if you want night life forget it. The toilets and showers are kept very clean although they are not exactly modern. There was just the 2 of us so we haven't got kids to amuse but I suspect that if we had they would enjoy the freedom to explore that this site offers. The fishing is not easy but I did manage to large carp while we were there. A site we will visit again in the future I am sure.

Stayed here for 2 nights on our way to the west coast. Had a fantastic time, so very relaxing and peaceful. Kids loved having the freedom and space to roam around exploring. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Area around was excellent, well worth exploring.
The only downside were the toilets and showers as looking quite dilapidated. The owners said they were due an upgrade. When that happens it will be worth the 10 stars.

Get in touch with the French countryside at this site. The location is beautiful with fantastic panoramas in a 5 mile radius.
The ground is sandy, so soft - beware if your outfit is something other than a tent.
Some pitches are sloping but there are a few level ones. The toilets/washrooms are basic - well cleaned but poor drains - 'put your used toilet paper in the bin' reads one of the instructions in the toilet. Plenty of hot water and 5 Euros for washing machine and tablet.
Wi-fi is included in the very reasonable pitch price, but reception is better if you buy a beer and sit in the garden nearer the transmitter.
I suggest a visit to Belleme as the nearest town that is moderately interesting - Nogent, Mortagne and Remalard range from awful to dull, however the journeys too and from these towns were a pleasure.
Remember your insect repellent!

Just spent 9 nights at Forest View and had a great time.
Site is great, lots of space, well chosen areas for pitching. Camped by the lake and it was a real back to nature feel.
Toilets and showers are fine, and kept nice and clean. Owners very friendly, and it's nice to have the shop on site for bread and ice creams.
Went with our 5 & 3 year old, and they loved it. Very safe Lots of wildlife to chase and places to explore. Splash pool very welcome for hot days. They loved Nelson as well!
Plenty of interesting trips out. Lots of pretty villages in the vicinity, and we went to Chartres and Sees a little further away.
It's great if you want peace, not all action by any means, but plenty to do. Will be back for sure.

Very friendly owners who really look after you, it's a quiet site ideal for nature lovers young and old, very good carp fishing, I would really recommend this campsite for a great holiday or as a stop over. Toilet block is very clean, good play area with a nice splash pool to cool down. Great area for Markets and French boot sales it's our third year and can't wait till next time. The French people in this area are very friendly compared to other places we have visited in France. Good food on site with it's home cooked meals, takeaway or from its handy little shop

We have just returned from a wonderful few days in the Perche region. First impressions of the campsite are its peace, tranquility, beautiful lake and orchard. We camped under the apple trees (bump in the night!) and savoured the silence. The road is nearby but it is not heavily used so there was little traffic noise to disturb us. The facilities are great but not the high-tech of some sites (if that sort of thing is important to you). The showers and toilets were kept spotless and there was standpipe, washing machine, tidy washing-up and clean rubbish areas. What more could you want? We wanted somewhere peaceful and rural with no extra gizmos but were grateful for the pint of milk from the shop. As someone else has said, a walk round the lake in the evening is perfect after a good camp meal and snaffling the patisseries. The early evening sun over the orchard, with the view out to the forest is breathtaking. So much so my fella proposed to me there! We travelled without the kids, and had time to visit the monasteries, religious sites, do a few rambles, tour the Alpes Mancelles etc in 3 days. The campsite is perfect as a centre for the small Perche region and we could have filled a week with activities easily. It was quiet the week we were there, so not sure how it is later in the season, but we hope to return one day. Lovely spot!

I booked for a week and ended up staying three weeks! Karen and Pete make you so welcoming at their campsite, and are great company. Having spent a week camping on the Normandy coast at a very commercial French campsite, Forest View was a breath of fresh air. Yes it is in a rural area, but that is one of its strengths, and once you have spent time here, you want to come back. The nearby town of Rémalard has an excellent supermarket, weekly market and the most amazing private garden which is open to the public. There is so much to do and see in the area, and I spent many an hour walking in the nearby Fôret de Saussay without meeting another soul.
My tent was pitched right by the lake, and it was so peaceful and I enjoyed listening to the ‘frog chorus’ at night, after the odd rain shower. All the facilities - toilets, showers and laundry areas were immaculate. Apart from EHU and internet access, there is a small shop which stocks the basic essentials, including wine! Cooked snacks are also available at lunch and in the evening.
During my stay, I met lots of campers who return year after year, and I will definitely be one of them. Even if you just stay a day or two on your way to Southern France, I am sure that you will enjoy yourself.

Have been to Forest View 2 years running, the first year in our own tent & the 2nd in the ready erected tents in the orchard (slightly sloping).
The hire tents are a godsend after 12 hours driving, when all you want to do is relax with a glass of something.
Masses of space for 2 people (tent sleeps 6!) with separate kitchen tent and all the equipment you need. 2 shower / toilet blocks are quite basic but always clean & always with hot water. Washing up facilities at both blocks. The lake area is lovely for a stroll around at dusk or early morning.
Karen & Pete are friendly and helpful, always ready for a chat and Nelson the Yorkie is a real character!
This is a lovely peaceful site in the beautiful perche national park and we will definitely be back.

This is a lovely, quiet campsite. Perfect for a chilled few days. The campsite is split between an orchard (really nice, open space)with an overground splash pool. There are also lakeside pitches which were very pretty. The sanitaires are very basic and need updating but are very clean. You receive a warm welcome from the owners karen and pete. You can have drinks in their garden which is a beautiful setting and play with their dog nelson! They offer warm croissants etc in the mornings. There is a supermarket in walking or cycling distance as well as the large village of remelard which is worth a visit. The owners also offer b&b and artist holidays. Camping prices are very reasonable.
