We had a great time. There is a large supermarket around 2 miles away selling everything and we likes the top wines for 3 euro! The site is well spaced out and the hosts are very helpful and extremely friendly. The electric didn't trip even with 4 appliances plugged in and the connect up was a standard UK fitting so no need for a French adaptor.
The toilet block has been newly constructed and looks very nice with all new fittings. No heat floor. Showers are free and were always hot for us although some people complained that they were only warm. It really did depend if you went for a shower at 3pm in the afternoon or 11pm at night I was told but they are free, clean and new. Toilet roll is provided which was often stolen but Peter will refill if you ask him. There were 3 male and female showers and they were never busy in August.
The travel from Calais takes about hours, there are loads of local villages with markets, a lake with a beech about 12 mile away which was free. Eurodisney was 115 miles and about 2 hours 15mins. We travelled there and back in a day easily.
There are a few nice forest walks around the site.
Try the cider and blonde beer from the bar although the super market is cheaper. They sell ice creams but again the supermarket is cheaper but not as convenient.
The lake has a nice walk around. There is no problem with flies, frogs or ants. We were on the family area but we heard no other complaints.
Great for a few nights on the way south. We stayed a week to chill and see some sights and it was everything we expected. We would recommend as the price is very good and was great value. We have 3 kids and the park was small but visible from the terrace outside the bar. There is free wifi. There are a selection of family favourite games which you can help yourself so enjoyed a few games of simpsons monopoly in the sun with a beer. There is no splash or swimming pool.
Th site was generally quiet (noise wise) with a general mix of other firendly campers. The local town of Remelard has bars and shops and a great pastry shop. The owner was really very good.

This is an amazing site, a truly wonderful place to relax and do as little or much as you choose.
We found this site by chance after searching ukcampsites site whilst on our a site further south, we decided to move nearer Calais for our final week. From our very initial email we felt welcomed!
On arrival we were greeted by Sarah and we couldn't believe the stunning beauty of the campsite itself and the local views.
Pitches are set up in three areas, family, lakeside and quiet. We chose the quiet area which suited us perfectly, although a little further to walk to the newly constructed sanitary block which wasn't a problem.
Our pitch wasn't lakeside but we still had a view of the lake. The family field was perfect for those with small children, they were safe from the lake and had a large area to play. There was a multi play frame for them and also a 18 hole crazy golf course for what ever age!
There was amazing, reasonable priced, 'plat du jour' three times a week. The bar served wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee again all reasonably priced. Bread could also be ordered fresh for the next day! There was a lounge area were you could seat and a terraced area again were you could seat, wifi was available free in both these areas.
The lake is full of fish, although we don't fish ourselves it was exciting when a buzzer went and on exploration we witnessed a fisherman reel in a large mirror carp.
The local area has a lot to offer, cycle routes, pretty towns, intermarche 4 minutes away but to be honest we sat at our pitch most of the time and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity that this site offers. We will be back next year for longer allowing ourselves time to venture further than the our pitch which to us was paradise.

What can we say that hasn't been said before. The owners, Peter and Sarah, have been caravaners and motorhomers for many years. And it shows. The site is one we shall return to. We have spent two overnighters there so far and we will be back!
There is something special about this site, it is tranquil but without signs saying 'don't do this and don't do that' like some clubs sites:)
We had a lake side pitch which was wonderful. There is a new 'ranch style' toilet block with HUGE showers. At last I can have a shower and keep my clothing dry.
We had a meal cooked by Sarah which really hit the spot. With Internet in the patio area you can, if you want, keep in touch with the outside world. There are loads of walks in the forest next to the site and our girls loved the crazy golf.
If only more sites were like this.

My husband Martin found the newly designed website for this little French gem in November last year. Peter (owner) asked for patience re booking online but Martin could not wait and so begged me to email to see if we could possibly reserve a pitch anyway. Right from the very first return email, we knew that we had found the site for us and truly lovely owners, and so we booked a 12 night stay for ourselves and our 6 year old English Springer Spaniel, Dillon (now renamed Digger by Peter)
From arrival to leaving (with many tears!) Peter and Sarah could not do enough for anyone who used the site and their Chambre d'Hotes. It was truly the best campsite that we have visited in all our years of camping and caravanning both in France and the UK.
Toilets and showers - brand new ranch style building with separate free facilities for ladies and gents. The showers were big and always plenty of hot water even when all in use. The push buttons aren't to everyone's taste but they do their job of giving you just the water you need.
Restaurant and Bar - Sarah's plat de jour is a real treat and at 12E50 for two home made courses a real bargain as well. If you are there when she is doing the sausage cassoulet please book if you are able - it is gorgeous! You eat family style around big tables with other guests and Peter and Sarah too if room allows. It is a great way to brush up on your French if you are as lucky as we were to be able to share dinner with French guests staying there. Prices for drinks are very reasonable if you fancy a change from drinking at your tent/caravan. Just don't let your partner get into the habit of forgetting to order the bread/croissants for the following day by the allotted time as they will have an excuse to slope off for one or two grand bieres! There is a lovely covered outdoor area where you can access the free wifi and play one of the many board games available for your use (watching Dan and Helen play the Sherlock Holmes game was a real treat!)
Food and shopping - as already mentioned, you can order fresh bread/croissants for pick up between 9. 30 and 10. 30 and they are lovely. The Intermarche supermarket is just down the road (about 2km) and has loads of lovely food and drink to keep you going through your stay. There are also bigger supermarkets in Nogent and Mortagne. We only visited one market this time at Nogent on the Saturday morning.
The local area - the Perche area and the Orne region are breathtakingly beautiful. Admittedly we had fantastic weather for all but one day of our stay but it still looks beautiful even in the grey and rain. Nowhere as touristy as Brittany and other areas of Normandy but once you have visited this area you will want to come back again. Drives of 40 to 50km will take you into lovely villages/forests/towns - just pack a picnic and go!
Fishing - lovely lake (got some beautiful photos) but Martin found the fishing quite hard. Caught some small roach but none of the giants lurking in the deep. Did find a tackle shop in Nogent completely by accident on the rue de Saint Laurent so if you need fishing stuff it's ideal and well priced. You can get by with a little bit of French and drawing pictures of the tackle you require!
I would heartily recommend this site to anyone (and not just for overnight stops - we did 12 nights and it wasn't anywhere enough so we are aiming for 17 next year!)but please don't try to book Pitch number 10 - Digger's Den for August 2014 because it's ours!
Thank you so much Peter and Sarah for everything - you and your lovely site were truly heaven sent!
Mel, Martin and 'Digger' Gee xx

Well what can I say this park is truelly special run by lovely lovely people and I just wish we could've stayed longer!
We are a large family of 7 who stayed for one night travelling down france and one night travelling up.
The children range from 6-14 and they all love it here.
We had a lakeside camping pitch was was stunning but I wish there had been less hedging along this part of the lake so we could sit and look out across the water.
We met Sarah upon arriving who was lovely and very welcoming and we see Peter quite often who is also lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure everyone had a pleasant stay.
The new shower block was a welcome treat after lots of travelling very clean and tidy. Unfortunately we didn't go the restaurant for a meal again because of the travelling we wanted to just relax with the tired children.
I believe Sarah and Peter own two cats one of whom welcomed us highly and during the storm we had even meowed to come in the van and slept with us! :-)
Would love to return to this site again one day and wish Ssrah and Peter all the best for a wonderful future owning this wonderful site!

We are a family of four Mum 2 children and 1 Grandmother. We intended to stay 1 night and stayed 2 on the way to the beach and 3 nights on the way home. Would have liked to stay longer. Peter and Sarah made us extremely welcome. Site is excellent, well maintained, clean and tidy. There is a lake which can be fished. The Intermache Supermarket is a short car ride away. Could if had time have travelled into Paris by driving to Chartres and leave car to travel in by train Can be excellent base. Would definitely go back again. Loved it.

I stayed at Forest view with my Partner in June. I found the Campsite to be very beautiful with a site available by the lakeside. The facilities were very clean and tidy.
Peter and Sarah made us feel very welcome. They took time to find out about us. I believe this helps ensure you enjoy your holiday as they think of things nearby that will suite you. They gave us advise for our route and tips on the best places to visit.
This site has a very 'homey' feel to it, it is run closely by the owners.
This campsite was one of the cheapest sites around and was one of the best.

This is a beautiful well maintained site. Biker friendly too! 5 of us on bikes well kitted up arrived on site on a very hot day to be greater by the owner Pete who's first question was 'would you like a very cold beer?' After the 5 hour ride we had just had the beer was much appreciated.
The owners are the nicest campsite owners I have ever met, they couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be back. So get the beer on ice for July 2014 Pete.
I have only scored the child friendliness low because there are no facility's for them and the lake could be quire dangerous.

We arrived at Forest View planning to stay 3 days before moving
Further south but after 1 day we realised that we would not find anywhere better so decided to stay for 10 days. The site is perfect for those who prefer peace and tranquillity.
The owners, Sarah & Peter, were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them so by the time that we left we felt that we had been staying with friends. Several evenings a week Sarah cooks Plat du Jour, which is very good reasonably priced meal and certainly beats going out to a local restaurant.
The toilet block was newly built but needed some finishing in the way of tiling for the concrete floor but otherwise excellent facilities.
The lakeside pitches are idyllic and great for relaxing with a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set.
All in all a great place to stay and we can't wait for a return visit.

Lovely area. Friendly owners. Have been coming here for a few years and love the peace. Unfortunately the owner has, in my view, spoilt the fishing, and the site, by turning it into a carp fishery. The new rules are not to my taste and I will not be returning.
