Just amazing.
We were fortunate enough to have one of the weeks where the heatwave hit Britain in 2013.
It was like being abroad, visited all the beaches, went crabbing at Barmouth & Porthmadog etc. Barmouth unfortunately is very commercial (mini blackpool) but great for getting your cheap wetsuits/swim shoes / nets / buckets etc. But don't let this put you off as the surrounding area is beautiful.
Campsite is immaculate. We have electric hookup and had a very reasonable sized pitch with a campfire just in front of us. I noticed in the non-ehu field it was busier and slightly more livelier, but everyone behaved and was a lovely atmosphere.
My 6 year old (at the time) daughter will never forget this holiday. Made a best friend with whom she has kept in touch with and spent the whole time at campsite on the rope swing in the tree behind our tent.
The facilities were the best I have ever come across, immaculate, never had to queue (even in the summer holidays). The owners were very friendly and would do everything they could to help.
Great beer garden in pub just down the road.
This is what camping is about. Immaculate facilities, amazing location / scenery / atmosphere, campfires allowed.
I don't think we will ever find a campsite that will match or beat this one and I am fussy!
The best fish & chip shop is in Barmouth on the front facing the sea. Do not order from the pizza/kebab shop in main street, long wait, over priced and yuk! The pub down the road from the campsite does a mean breakfast.
There is no mobile reception with vodafone and the wifi is good but not quick enough to watch tv without buffering. Not that any of this was really important to us with such amazing surroundings.
Well done to the owners of Nantcol Waterfalls campsite.

This campsite is AMAZING. It was my first time camping and this site made it a brilliant experience. The owners were really friendly and helpful, full of local information and felt like nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were excellent and very clean. The lit washing up area was always clean. My boys (8 & 10) loved playing in the river and on the rope swing in the field. There are lovely walks all around the site. The waterfalls are really pretty. We sunbathed at the top of the falls while the children paddled.

Had 3 wonderful nights in july at this very picturesque campsite which I can't recommend highly enough.
It's surrounded by trees and hills and has a stream running through it and a small waterfall - so it's really pretty. There is plenty of room and choice of where to pitch your tent or park your caravan. It's naturally divided into smaller areas which we liked. Plus as a bonus there are circles of stones for a camp fire - you can take your own wood or for £4 buy a bag of wood from the shop - which also has a good range of supplies which include delicious welsh icecream. They also offer a free service to freeze your iceblocks and charge your mobiles, although the signal is weak in the campsite, you only have to walk a bit higher up the hill to find a stronger one. They also had Wi fi for internet access.
The facilities are excellent - separate women and mens toilets, washrooms and showers, plus washing up facilities and a launderette. The water comes from a private borehole and is delicious! Although we were a couple there were lots of families there as the steam with its pools and waterfall is a natural playing area for children and dogs! There are also wooden picnic benches and tables too.
5 minutes away there is a pub - The Victoria - which serves food all day. Reasonably priced food and very tasty. Plenty of room in the garden to eat as well.
About 10 minutes away there is a lovely family beach with a small cafe and toilets. The cafe serves basic snacks at very reasonable prices.
We are looking forward very much to going back again and again to this wonderful campsite.

Not much to add as most previous reviews have everything covered
We spent a wEEk at this site and loved it. We had EHU and so were in the first field of EHU'S.
The site was full when we arrived but by mid wk it was fairly empty again until Friday when it was again full. (summer holidays for the schools start now)
The facilities are great unless you are the third lady wanting a shower. The showers seem to run fine with two being used but turn on the third and you get a trickle.
There is a Tesco with Aldi, Lidl and Outdoor world camping shop directly behind, in Porthmadog.
Lots of lovely beaches and castles in the area to explore.
I would like to add that not all dog owners observed the all dogs must be on a tether or lead at all times. When other campers politely mentioned it to said dog owners they became quite aggressive in their behaviour.
Nor did all campers observe the 11pm rule and it was mature adults not the youngsters
We would return

Me and my family (inc 2 toddlers) visited this site last week for 7 nights. Site was quite busy when we arrived as it was the end of half term, but managed to find a perfect spot on the bank above the shallow river. By Sunday evening we practically had the site to ourselves, bliss! Lovely walk to the waterfalls. Children loved playing 'pooh sticks' in the river and being able to watch them play from the tent. One of the best points of the site is being able to have a proper open fire in which the owner drives round the site selling logs. Toilets, showers, washing up facilities were all very clean. Shower cards 50p for 5 mins which I didn't think would be long enough, but after washing and conditioning my hair, I found I still had 1 min left!
Not many shops in nearby Llanbedr, but there's a Spar in the villages either side and also a Tesco in Porthmadog.
The only downside was the midges, but as we were blessed with warm, sunny weather all week, I'm not going to mark it down, just bring plenty of insect repellent with you!
Was quite sad to be going home, but we will definitely be making a return visit as its the best campsite I've stayed at.

Just come back from my Honeymoon. A week at Nantcol Falls Campsite. All the praise in previous reviews is well deserved. This campsite is fantastic in every way. We paid £21 per night for 6 nights. 2 adults, 1 dog and EHU. Arrived around 8pm but the farmer has cctv for extra security and drove down to collect our fees and sell us some wood.
The farmer is a cracking bloke. Very chilled and helpful to everyone. Don't try and turn up in a group of lads though as you will be asked to leave. Its a very family orientated site. Beautiful location. Little river running through with picnic benches and of course the stunning waterfalls.
The WC and showers are extremely clean and well looked after. The pitches are flat but can be firm so bring rock pegs. It is 40 minutes walk to the village of Llanbedr which is on the main road down the west coast. The village has two pubs which serve decent food. Main course is around £9. 95 for a burger and chips but very nice.
Places to visit are Shell Island which is the biggest campsite in Europe. Accessible over a causeway so check the times. Harlech is 15 mins in the car and is a stunning small town with an impressive Norman Castle. Wildlife is a dream too. Peacocks, Red Kites to name a few that we saw. To conclude, I will be coming back here. Everyone loves a campfire on the ground. The Welsh West coast is a beautiful part of the world and although is can be a bit of a drive its well worth it. No wonder this campsite has been voted one of the best in Britain. Fantastic.

Paula (my wife) and I stayed at this fantastic site from Sun 19/5 to Mon 27/5. The site was fairly quiet when we arrived and is a tranquil and beautiful place to camp. The showers and toilets were spotless and the site owners were on hand a couple of times a day to buy firewood and shower tokens etc.
Our only concern was how would it be when the bank holiday arrived and the place is rammed? We needn't have worried! Yes - there were plenty more people there but the showers and toilets remained very clean, our main concern - noisy parties banging away until the small hours? Absolutely none. Although the site was very busy it remained a tranquil and beautiful place to camp.
We know the area very well as we often camp at another very well known site (we avoid it on May bank holiday as it hosts a 'party' which ruins it for us) so can tell you Llanbedr has a couple of pubs, a butcher (if you ever catch him open) a couple of shops for your daily needs. You're about 8 miles from Barmouth and similar distances from Harlech. This is a beautiful part of the world, if you've not tried it - then you should.
We only camp at sites that allow camp fires, there is something quite special about sitting around the fire as the night draws on. For those that do it - you know what I mean. For those that have never tried it - you should, it is that element that makes camping unique.
Our only advice is to the site owners, perhaps you need to request fires are made off the ground or in already 'established' pits. It won't be long before your beautiful site is pok marked.
Top rated site and yes we will go again (perhaps even this year)

Been here a few times and it never fails, family run site and they are so helpful.
The kids loved the river. Good site if you like good old fashioned camp fires. The shop could be better but there is one just down the road so that was ok.
The site is perfect if you just want to get away from it all.
Also good if you have a dog plenty of walking space. Toilets and showers are always clean. Just an all round good camp site.

We have just left this beautiful campsite and would like to say, it is the best we have visited so far. On arrival to the little reception we were greeted by a lovely helpful family. We had only booked a hookup plot for one night for us and our friends who were arriving later, due to them being fully booked up, however they had a cancellation so we had a hookup for the whole 3 days of our stay. It was only £8 per adult per night, £4 per child per night and the electric hook up was £4 per night. The showers/toilet blocks were the cleanest we had ever been too. The reception sells the basic items milk, bread etc, plus wood so you can build a fire, which is a bonus. There are lovely views and walks all around, it is just so lovely and peaceful. Although there is no club house or pubs on site, you can get a taxi from the reception for just £5 to a lovely pub called Try Mawr Hotel (that was for 7 of us). We will definitely be going again.

Just spent an amazing few days here for my camping pals 50th birthday camp. This site is the best I've ever been to, it's clean and modern toilets/showers and wash-up areas were immaculate. The pitches were very generous and the whole site was just clean and well set out. I've not seen this at any of the sites I've visited !
It's set in a valley by a beautiful river, there are waterfalls, I'm told are spectacular, but I was with my 2yr old son so we just stayed on site where we were never bored. I was surprised to see we were allowed our fires on the ground, which were surrounded by big rocks which was nice and a treat not to stress about burning the grass with our pit, all people used these so that there weren't bald patches everywhere.
This site will become a firm favourite in my book from now on, its family friendly cleanliness and just the layout of the site suits my kind of camping to a tee!
