Stayed late in the season very close to the site closing.
Very nice staff who were really helpful on arrival.
Lovely place with pitches right by the lake - very picturesque.
Swimming pool excellent (heated) and fishing was good on the lake.
Toilets and Showers were OK most were closed.
Restaurant was very good even with set menu due to end of season.
Wifi usable outside the cafe.
Shop had some useful items.
Definitely will stay here again.

Our first visit to this site and what a pleasure. The site reception was very welcoming and helpful, the music night on a Saturday was excellent as it was off the cuff, the son of the owner made you very at home. The toilet facilities are in the process of being updated, the food in the restaurant is of good quality a good heated outside pool which is luxurious compared to other sites. We are definitely rebooking this site again next year.
The site is in an ideal position to visit places like honfleur and trooville also all the lovely little villages in the surrounding area, this is one site to visit 5 star rating

Make sure you map your way in or you can find yourself on very small single track but traffic going both ways! We thought we had mapped it but not!
We got booked in quickly and told us we were in an orchard. Very friendly on reception and he took us to our pitch. This was small and needed levelling blocks, and having to mind the caravan from the small trees bordering the next pitch. Although the pitch was small when settled in, it felt quite open, the trees were small, giving some shade but still giving open views.
It has a lovely friendly feel about site, I can see why many people return year after year.
There is a large fishing lake, with boats to hire and life jackets. Caravan/Tent pitches all around the edge giving people there own private fishing space, until someone joins them!
A lovely pool a bit on the small size but well used, with sun beds.
A small bar in the Chateau, a bit pricey but worth a look around, Madame gives a talk on a Sunday about the Chateau we missed it but reception had a booklet which was interesting.
We were near the old smelly toilet block, it really needs a refit, it was worth the walk to the newer one near bar area, even that was swimming in water at times. Its best to hunt the best and keep with it, water warm with timed press buttons.
I loved this site but with our pitch near the play area and restaurant, it was very very noisy with children playing and screaming in groups from 6pm till 11pm, they had water all over the toilets, playing in dirty drains, running across the site children as young as 4 years with no parental control, in pitch dark! I know they are meeting up with friends from other years and get excited but does no one remember Madeline McCann, it only takes a minute. When the bar close there's silence.
If you have children this is a wonderful site.
If you are without children this would be a wonderful site outside school holidays!
That's when we will return.
Honfleur is 30 mins away, a beautiful place to walk around, a harbour and very old.
We came to see Normandy beaches and Museums.
There is so much to see but a lot is repeated and the same at each site. (Money making!) Research what you really want to see, and allow 2 hours, some research sites say 30 mins its not enough.
The American cemetery also has a Museum on site which is free, with a cinema viewing, which was good. You need about three hours here. Also a small Museum in the village locally, allow 2 hours.
At Arromanches the 360 degree cinema is really worth seeing, it views now and then going back and forth it really puts you into the war zone, it lasts about 20 mins.
Pegasus Bridge was interesting showing where the planes crash landed, the bridge and Museum. Again allow 2 hours.
We went to the Caen Museum, this Museum covers from WW1 with a over view to the build up to WW2, the Spanish Civil war, The Jews and onto America 9. 11. It goes a lot deeper allow 4 to 6 hours, or full day, it gets very busy.
If you are looking at a lot of Museums a CAEN CARD bought for one euro gives a lot of discounts, buy at a small Museum as you do not get the discount as you buy it, it will give you 8 euro off at the Caen Museum but it has to be bought before you get there.
Take the tissues you will need them!

Have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Le Brevedent in Normandy. Booked again for next year. After chatting to other campers its amazing to hear how long they have been returning for, one couple for the last 15 years and another 30+ years, we are only mere babies!
The site hasn't altered much from last year, still the old toilet block which needs refurbishing, but the other old one is OK, if you don't mind walking up to the modern one that's lovely. The showers could be a bit hotter - tried am and pm but there was no difference in temperature.
The site is great for young children but nothing for the average teenager. A nice play area near the restaurant and a larger area for older children on the other side of the lake. The lake isn't fenced and isn't too deep - no life rings.
Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and they all speak English. Can't comment this year on the restaurant, but heard mixed reviews from other people from awful to excellent.
Lots to do around the area and noticed a farm shop on the way back from Lisieux selling local produce, sadly didn't get time to call in. Leaflets for trips are available in reception and the staff are more than willing to make phone calls for information.
Camp shops stocks all the basic requirements and the fresh bread and croissants are delivered every morning - pain au rasins are smaller than last year and still the same price but that isn't the campsites fault.
Our only gripe is, if you pitch at the side of the lake people walk through your pitch to look at the lake, you can be snoozing, eating or sunbathing! Came back from a trip out to find someone sat on our pitch fishing. Find it very rude and wonder what they would do if we went to sit on their pitch for a rest.

This site were a stop over site for us on the way back home from Brittany, we stayed for one night. The reception staff were very helpful and showed us to our pitch, we stayed on the waters edge. We saw people on the canoes paddling up and down and a couple fishing. The pitches had room but were a little cosy with the neighbouring pitch.
The kids loved the outside pool and were in it until the trailer were hooked back on to the car. We ate at the restaurant on the evening which were ok as were the beer. The kids played in the park which were in the restaurant grounds.
This site is very popular with British campers as nearly every reg plate barring half a dozen were GB.
I awoke around 6am on the morning and I went out to bright sunlight and the carp topping in the water an hour and a few bread rolls later the carp were feeding about 2. 5m from the bank. I only wish that I had a rod.
This site does deserve the 4 star rating that it has. The toilet, washing and showers were ok. Would we go back, yes but I think that we would get a little bored if we stayed there for a long period of time.

Had a great time in general at Le Brevedent - we spent five nights there with our 6 and 5 year old kids. They had a fantastic time, loads of other children around to make friends with.
We had a pitch by the lake next to a little footbridge, very nice, but lots of passing traffic
The facilities were fine, the older block wasn't amazing, but perhaps I just have low standards and didn't find it that bad.
We used the restaurant for the BBQ one night - to be honest it wasn't worth the money. Everything else was great though.
It's a bigger site than I am used to but would happily recommend.

Said we wouldn't use this site again but hey ho, off we went! Stayed the night on our way home. As usual the welcome was warm from the English speaking receptionist. We were given a lovely pitch at the side of reception and the château, one of two next to the mobile homes.
We were in the middle of two shower blocks, both of the newer ones. They were both cleanish, looked OK but a bit smelly as if they needed a real deep down clean. The toilet block down by the mobile homes is a large building that's actually really badly designed with only 2 or 3 each of toilets, showers and washing cubicles in the ladies side. The showers were nice and hot though the drains were hopeless and water seeped out under the doors.
There was a lack of loo roll in this toilet block when we arrived but a cleaner did top this up later in the evening. Toilet cubicles in the block behind the cafe are very small but I do like the layout of this block with family bathroom too.
The swimming pool has been refurbished since we were last there. It is now bigger but shallower than it used to be and is the coldest heated swimming pool I've ever been in but it was clean and had plenty of sunloungers round the outside.
They've invested in some new play equipment for small children outside the cafe including a bouncy castle, which seemed very popular.
I thought the restaurant would be busy as the site was full, so we didn't eat in but took out some chips to go with some chicken I cooked in the tent, should have eaten in though as the kids said when they fetched the chips there was only one table of diners in. They were a decent portion, tasty and reasonably priced.
In all, a better review than last time we stayed here. I still think it is pricey and the toilets still need some work to bring them up to a good standard. But it is easy to find and OK for overnight.

We spent four weeks here over July and August, for the fourth year running. We are not alone in returning to this camp site year on year and look forward to catching up with other 'regulars' whenever we go back.
For all the negative reviews I've seen on here, they must be doing something right for so many of us to keep going back for more!
Nothing much has changed in the time we've been going. The 'old' toilet block is still old, but it has had all new toilets plumbed in and although the tiling and layout of the building remains exactly as it ever was, it did seem fresher than in previous years.
The swimming pool, new last year, is not as heated as you might imagine but on the really hot days we experienced, that was no bad thing.
The kids club was a hit as ever, and the addition of a bouncy castle on the grass in front of the cafe was welcomed by all the youngsters we saw.
We had a few issues with rather intermittent wifi, but Raphael and the team worked hard to resolve this and certainly by the time we left it was all up and running again. It actually wouldn't have bothered us normally but we wanted Olympic updates this year!
All in all, we love this site and will certainly be returning in 2013.

A really great site where we stayed for 2 nights. We were shown to our pitch and given a guided tour of the facilities, including a shop.
There was a lake that you could hire kayaks to paddle about in. The walk through the woods was nice and there was plenty for children to do with badminton, mini golf etc. The pool was lovely, although as the weather was really good there wasn't quite enough sunbeds for everyone.
The highlight of the stay was the 'acoustic night' which was held in the bar.
Although it is a 'Eurocamp' it is still a small, friendly and quiet site that I would definitely recommend for independent holiday makers.

We (well, I, OH has no idea) were dubious about using this site as some reviews are less than glowing. I have to say that we were very pleased. It had been raining a lot, and many pitches were very muddy, but don't let this put you off, they have a mini tractor to pull you out if required.
The site itself is lovely, you can stay on a variety of pitches of all sizes, up by the old hunting lodge or down by the lake or the games area. We chose 15 in the middle for Sky tv reception, easy to find. We received a warm welcome from an English girl when we arrived.
Out of season it is a €16 ACSI site, and we found it quite easily from Lisieux. It's an ideal stopover (2 nights for us), but I would like to return for a week or so. It has ready erected tents and also chalets for hire, Eurocamp I think. The nearest village is very picturesque and has a grocers', as already stated, Pont l'Eveque has a supermarket.
