We stayed at this site for one night on our return from the Vendee in July 2011.
Found the campsite pitches to be a little higgledy piggledy but this, in my opinion, added to the atmosphere of the place.
There was a mixture of nationalities present during our stay, including Dutch and German, which also added to the ambience.
As this was our last night in France we decided to dine in the campsite restaurant. Have to say that we were not expecting a particularly fine dining experience, as it was a campsite afterall. How wrong we were? We (myself, wife and 3 young kids) had a fantastic meal, and the service from the English speaking staff was very good.
The position of the restaurant also allows for the parents to continue with their meal/dessert/wine whilst the kids burn off excess energy in the adjacent playpark.
The campsite seemed to be a little remote but this may be more to do with the route we took to get to the site. However, I do recall passing through a quaint little village on our way to and from the site. Wish we had had an opportunity to explore more.
I understand that the site is particularly popular with visitors wishing to explore the Normandy beaches, and we would definitely go back for this purpose.
Would definitely recommend as a stopover site, or as one to use if intending to spend a little more time exploring the Normandy beaches.

We have never seen so many Tents, Motorhomes, and Tourers so close together, you really did have to love thy neighbour, it made very uncomfortable camping.
We have a 8m Van and although they accepted our booking we felt this site really is not designed to take large vans. Water taps were hidden behind pitches, so we had to fight your way through guy ropes and tents to get to them, signs on all taps saying no waste water in drains, when we enquired as to where we were supposed to put it we were told the drains with the water taps, then we took abuse from the surrounding campers as they were so close to their pitches. 1 shower block has seen better days 1 was ok but the best Block was at the other end of the site near the Eurocamp vans and chalets. When leaving the site the Tent to the side of us had pegged his guy rope in the road with a rock peg as his pitch was to small so we had to be careful not to drive over it and seeing as the roads are so narrow it was very difficult. Reception closed for lunch so don't arrive between midday and 2pm as you will have to join the queue.

After travelling for over four hours and having found this campsite online I was thrilled when we pulled into the car park, if only to get out the van as the day was so hot, and on first impressions the site looked really lovely. I had promised the children we would visit here to see the wild guinea pigs before leaving france.
How wrong could I be!
We were given a pitch and a member of staff walked with our van to show us where it was, only to find someone else camping there. So he said he would be back. We waited half hour before thinking something maybe was wrong! Walked back to the office and found him sat with his feet up! Were given a list very reluctantly of pitches available and sent on our way!
Stayed for a long two days as it was on the way to the ferries for us but found the staff at times very dismissive. The restaurant did serve excellent food and has a brilliant playpark outside, but one member of staff almost seemed to refuse to speak english to be awkward.
One of the two toilet blocks really needs to be bombed like the main house was years ago as it was appalling and smelt terrible. The better block is surprisingly near the euro camp tents but even this has been updated far too upmarket, large building with only four toilets and four showers in! The pool was extremely, take your breath away cold and a lot smaller than the website portrayed.
All in all a very disappointing visit after all the other lovely sites we had visited in France, really did spoil the end of our holiday.
Would I recommend this site? No. There are maybe thousands of sites in France to go to and this honestly would be the last on the list. The way it is portrayed online is nothing like what you get when your there. It maybe seems like all I have done is moan but after staying at four other glorious sites in France this one was a big let down.

This site was as a stopover on the way back to the boat at Zeebrugge.
We arrived mid-afternoon and were welcomed by, I am assuming, Raphael, the son. He was there in the morning, afternoon and night - hopefully he got some sleep sometime. We encouraged to wander around and pick our own pitch as there was a good choice. We wandered around assessing which one would be best for our tunnel tent and extension. Some of the pitches down by the lake looked a little tight but we selected one close to a toilet block. This seemed a good idea at the time as we have had a couple of long walks in the night when we had picked secluded sites. On reflection, this was the one toilet block that needs upgrading. It is starting to look really quite sorry for itself - but fine for the midnight visit! As others have said, the other two blocks have been upgraded - one to a very high standard indeed.
The day we arrived was great weather and the place was very pretty. The chateau has a bit of the old 'shabby chic' about it. As we were coming to the end of the holiday, we didn't want to stock up on food so decided to dine at the restaurant. The first night, my meal was delicious, staff were very friendly - all in all, top marks. The next day we woke up to rain - a bit of a theme for the whole holiday - but the pitches around us remained in good condition. I selected poorly at dinner so my main course was a little disappointing - the salmon - but the staff continued to make it a good experience.
Croissants from the shop were very welcome in the morning but we didn't see much else there apart from wine and biscuits. I would suggest that serious food shopping would have to be off site.
All told, a lovely site, with a great welcome. Pick your pitch carefully to make sure your tent/caravan fits and if the weather is kind, you will have a great time.
We will return but perhaps a little later in the year. We have found early June a little disappointing in northern France weather-wise for the last couple of years.

This was our fourth trip to Brevedant. Other family members have been coming back year after year and it was great to meet them there.
The staff are very friendly and relaxed and put on excellent music nights. There is a great bar which is a bit pricey but an excellent atmosphere. Even so the campsite has been in our experience quiet after 11:00 on most nights.
The site is mainly aimed at young families and those families with teenagers who must have discos and large swimming pool complexes need to go elsewhere.
Mobile phone signal is poor here which can be a plus or minus depending on your point of view!
We use the Le Clerc in Lisieux for shopping which is huge! It is also close to Decathlon useful for tent spares, gas etc. The last time we went there there was a whole pallet of shotgun cartridges just inside the door!
The 'Go Ape' type place is good for older children with different grades of course and is good value for money.
Pevious comments about toilets apply, but compared to others in France (and the uk for that matter) are fine.
Journey time from Calais or the tunnell is a comfortable 3 hours.
We hope to be back in August 2011!

We chose this site based on the reviews on this site. It was our first time camping abroad and with three children (11,7 and 3) we wanted to get it right. What a result!
Easy booking on line for eight nights and quick response to emails. Payment on departure was nice, so you can leave early if you want to move on. On arrival we weren't happy with the allocated pitch (too close to lake with three year old) but staff were happy to give us any other pitch we wanted.
Echo what other reviewers have said about one toilet/shower block needing updating but, that said, even that one was much better than other sites we've been to in U.K.
Pools were great for the kids and our boy pestered us for the whole week to go in the canoes on the lake. Kids club great and happy to let all the kids (including the three year old when accompanied) roam freely. Shop is very expensive so stock up at supermarche.
Site is a bit out of the way, but Trouville and Deauville are only about 20 mins away by car. Good base for exploring Normandy and D-day beaches. Church bells and chickens woke us up most mornings but that's part of the charm of rural life.
Highlight was the wife having a kip in the pm with the tent door open and waking up with a chicken on the bed. I'm still laughing now!

A lovely site. Stayed at this site for a week during half term. Both French and English staff were very helpful, and the site has been very well developed.
Individual emplacements are sizeable and the grass was well kept. Quite a busy site, but surprisingly quiet. Facilities were great - swimming pool and toddler pool, play areas, restaurant, bike hire, boating, cafe plus more.
Loos, showers and washing up facilities were lovely (one block could do with updating before too long) but all were regularly cleaned. Great base for exploring Normandy or just pottering around - the local village (Blangy) was pretty and has one or two useful shops - supermarkets were about 20 minutes drive towards Deauville.
This was our second visit and I'll be surprised if we don't return.

This was our first time on a French site and we were quite apprehensive. However, we shouldn't have been, this was a great site.
We had a brilliant pitch at the end of the lake (no.14), which was huge, with no-one at the front or side of us, had a fab view of Chateau and lake. Some of the pitches were quite small though and looked very cramped, we were very lucky!
Both toilet blocks near to lake and restaurant need updating, however at the back of the cafe there are family bathrooms, these have a small bath, sink and shower in and are very modern. Only trouble is the cleaner comes in and closes this at 6.30pm (not for long) when most parents with small kids are wanting to bath them, get in there before if you can.
We have a 9 and 6 year old and they didn't want to leave the site. They enjoyed the kids club, pool (although cold) and canoes. They had football matches every night until dark on the play field which they loved and met lots of other kids.
Playground by the field was ok. But be warned the cesspit is right at the side and towards the end of our holiday it really did smell bad, bubbling over the top, really needed emptying, must have been awful for those pitched nearby.
There is also a playground outside the restaurant, which is good for parents wanting a meal/drink, kids can play while parents relax and keep any eye on them. The site feels really safe and we were more than happy to let our kids go off an play as it doesn't feel too large.
The restaurant was I feel quite pricey, especially the drinks. But a nice change when you get fed up of BBQ food. They also have a very reasonably priced pizza take-away too. Staff here were really helpful and friendly.
Entertainment on an evening is low key, with a couple of evenings with live music. They encourage you to take your instrument if you play, and on a Friday its a free stage. My daughter got to play one night and was thrilled. It was a great atmosphere.
There is a shop on site with essentials, ok if you run out, but the milk was more than twice price of supermarkets, so stock up first! There are supermarkets just past Pont L'Eveque and one near Liseaux too, we found them to be cheap, especially the wine, 10L box for 12euros! Also small shop in Le Blangy approx 2 miles away.
Staff on site are friendly and really helpful too.
Off site we visited the landing beaches. Nice beach at Villa Sur Mer. We spent a day at a ropes place (Go-Ape type) 10 euros per course or 15 for 2, kids enjoyed it so much we went back (leaflet in reception, cant remember name), only 20 minute drive away. Also off site we enjoyed horse riding just round the corner only 8 euros.
Overall good site, but we did get a good pitch.

We have just returned from a delightful fortnight spent exploring Normandy, based at Chateau Le Brevedent. A family of 4, with 2 children under the age of 10, we agreed that this was the best family campsite we have stayed at. It has a very laid back feel to it; the grounds are well maintained with beautiful trees and the aspect of having the chateau as a backdrop is quite idyllic.
The children enjoyed attending the kids club (relaxed atmosphere rather than too structured, otherwise we wouldn't have liked it!), the pool was clean (very deep for youngsters although there is a toddler pool) but bracingly cold, even on the hot summer days we enjoyed. I concur with other reviews about the cesspit - we were lucky enough to be placed away from it, but the smell was awful if the boys were playing football on the field and we felt sorry for those camping nearby.
The lake was lovely to canoe on (3 euros for 30 mins) but is a murky green colour. Tents and campers located around the lake had small pitches and it felt a little hemmed in. We were lucky enough to have one of the larger pitches (no 12) for our large trailer tent. The nearby toilet block was abysmal - smelly and not well maintained - but a short walk up to the chateau meant that we could avail ourselves of the new toilet/shower block situated behind the cafe area. There is also another brand new block at the far end of the site near the entrance. Hopefully, the older block will be refurbished sometime in the near future as this really lets the site down overall.
We would describe the chateau as 'shabby chic' as it's rather crumbling in a charming sort of way; Madame comes each Sunday evening to give a history of the chateau and there is French traditional music from the 'in-house' band twice a week - family members and those working at the site contribute (and superb musicians they are too!). We didn't eat in the restaurant, but used the bar in the evenings.
Quiet was maintained after 10pm and the site was generally clean and tidy. Full of Brits, but for us this meant that our children enjoyed lots of freedom and had others of their own age to play with at all times, leaving the grown ups to have some down-time.
Highly recommended for families with younger children, although we probably wouldn't have like it there if we had been a couple without children. Lots of places to visit using this site as a base.

Arrived in cold weather which didn't made a good start. Allocated plot 1 which was described by the family as 'the hole'. Small plot next to the play area so was rather busy.
Chateaux condition is very close to a derelict building (apparently bombed by a crashing WW2 RAF bomber)
Lake is nothing more than a 18 inch deep puddle. It is possible to hire canoe's (3 euro) but you will get abuse from the fishermen on the lake.
Miles away from anything so not good for a base to explore the area. Two pools outside looked so dirty that my kids refused to go in them. Toilets need to be updated as I returned to the caravan but a local insect on my back. Chickens wake you up in the morning as they wander round the site.
Good points - friendly bar staff who speak english. Restaurant was very busy but I didn't try the food. Play areas good but very busy.
Wouldn't go back.
