We stayed here for one night on our way home from Cornwall. Very pleasant reception. I have a twin axle caravan and the motor mover had packed in. I was guided to a nice easy drive though pitch so no manoeuvring needed. Very helpful. The site is easy to tow a caravan to, all main roads. Toilets, showers, Laundry and chemical disposal all very clean. Pitches are a good size with nice fine grit on hard standings. Grass looks well looked after. Play park for children and large grass area to play on. Security barrier in use. Close to Conkers outdoor centre which will be popular for families. Shop at reception has some basics food and camping equipment.

First trip out in our caravan, upgraded, from a tent,
Nice clean facilities, showers clean and hot, only slight niggle, the dish washing room was quite small, and when all sinks being used it was a bit cramped,
With in walking distance of Conkers park which is a good day out with the kids.
Plenty of eating houses near by, and shops not to far, basic shop also on site,
Stayed for a long weekend all in all nice site, friendly staff and good facilities.

We arrived late at 8:30pm but were still met with a very friendly welcome. The hardstanding pitches are perfectly flat with easy access to electricity. The whole site is clean and toilets/showers are warm, clean and accessible. The site is quiet and has a nice playground at one end. There was easy access to the Conkers trail and other walking/cycling routes making it a very pleasant overall stay. We weren't nagged to leave on Sunday and made a small contribution to the flower fund for the privilege of not rushing home.

Lovely site in a great location - ideal for either over-night stops when travelling or longer - especially good for fitter folk, cyclists etc.
Very friendly welcome - all facilities clean and modern. Good choice of pitch etc.
We lived near here about 40 years ago when this area was a bit of an industrial/mining eye-sore! The change (because of the 'National Forest'?) is amazing!
Last but not least - very dog-friendly.
We will return - very useful to us as we have relatives in area and site is open all year! Well done C&C Club!

We arrived with our Caravan to a very friendly welcome from the lovely staff who made us feel welcome straight away. The campsite is welcoming one with it having plenty of space between caravans, more so than the Hunstanton one we stayed at the weekend previously. The Toilet/Shower block is spotlessly clean and well maintained although closes at 10. 30 am for cleaning for over an hour so go to the Toilet/Shower before then! The kids play area was great for our kids, (7&9) and they played safely there for hours. I read a review of the site saying that it was featureless but it isnt. Dont expect rolling hillside with a 10 mile uninterrupted view, but what you get is a well kept site that is more than adequate. There is a trail at the back of the site, route 63, that took us to Measham. We stopped off at the Halfway house pub just off the trail at Swadlingcote for a fantastic meal with it having a massive beer garden with a great play area for the kids. Conkers adventure park is right next door and remember to take your site receipt so you can get your kids in for free! We went skiing at the ski center in Swadlingcote which was adequate for the kids but the adult slope is woefully poor. We have gone from Tenting to Caravanning and found that this site has qualities for both. There is a chip van that comes around on a Friday but we didn't use it and a YMCA center right next door that did food but didn't use that either. We really enjoyed this campsite and being fussy about Toilets and cleanliness found this one to be a gem and we would recommend it if you are thinking of going there.
Cheers
Mat Bell

Spent two nights here with partner, daughter of 9 and her best friend. The site was busy but still felt like we had plenty of space. Wardens were extremely helpful and very friendly. Toilet blocks were excellent and also very clean. Despite being busy there was never an issue with having to queue for showers or the toilet.
The girls spent the entire time on site either on their bikes or at the playground and they absolutely loved it. Again even with it being busy there was loads of room to play.
We spent the Saturday at the Conkers Discovery centre which is a 5 minute cycle ride away. It is pleasant enough but to be honest the activities are geared towards either younger or older children than the two 9yo's we had; we still enjoyed our say there but be prepared. Also, if we went again we would organise a picnic!
All in all the site was fantastic and we had a great weekend.

Our second visit here. This is a great campsite, friendly, lots of cycling, lots to enjoy in the area. The site is well-kept, toilets etc super-clean, and checked very regularly. Kids were able to cycle safely on the site, a pleasure to see, and their playground was well used.
Wi-Fi is available at the nearby YHA, for a charge, so it is possible to access it, if you need it.

We have just returned from Conkers. We had a lovely 5 days, site was great for us as we were with our Daughters family the children had a good time safely riding their bikes around the site. Within easy walking distance of Conkers. Facilities were always clean and warm. Site staff very friendly on arrival. A few things for sale at reception especially bread and milk. Was getting very busy when we left, good Friday, so it might be best to visit out of peak times if you like the quiet.

Warm welcome on arrival.
Extremely large pitch, with plenty of space.
Large, site with a great playground for the kids, maybe would be better located more centrally on the site, as it is close to the main entrance.
This site has excellent facilities that are kept extremely clean, by the wardens. A little disappointed that there was no recycling available on the site.
Excellent cycle routes in the National Forest, for all level's of cyclist. Especially good if you have small children.
Also visited the YHA which is next door and had a lovely latte, they serve food which is also reasonably priced.
