I would just like to second all the positive reviews of this site. We arrived on the first day of the season and the staff were totally organised, friendly and very helpful. They could provide all local info such as bus and train timetables etc instantly. The site was immaculate, one of the best we have visited in 8 years of camping. The toilet block was exceptional, spotless and very user friendly. Free Wifi was a welcome bonus, it's not often you get something for nothing on campsites these days.

Decided to go away for the weekend last minute in our tourer as it was such a lovely weekend. As we only live an hour away from Harlech decided to go to Min y Don as we had never been there before. What can I say such a lovely site. Greeted by a lovely friendly lady who checked us in. The best shower/toilet block facilities that I have seen spotlessly clean, underfloor heating and the radio playing too.
Lovely view of the castle from the site. The beach is within walking distance away as is the local convenience store that is reasonably priced. The park for the children is superb couldn't get them away!
The only thing that I can say that on our second day we found dog excrement behind our caravan (we do not have a dog) by the side of the children's bikes, this was not there the evening before. There was a large dog walking area for dogs on the site. This is the third site we have visited this year in a row where we have found dog excrement near our caravan. Please, please dog owners will you please clean up after your dogs.

We enjoyed our visit to this site. Excellent facilities-never seen such a good facilities block
Shame to see so many pitches damaged by use of groundsheets but plus was neighbouring two pitches were out of use so very spacious
We made good use of the trains as we like to walk or use public transport. Dogs were welcomed and travelled free
Amazing fares-£4. 20 return to Barmouth and £3. 40 to Porthmadog. We had two great days out. The walk over the bridge at Barmouth and the coast path at Porthmadog were memorable
Beach was beautiful despite the wind due to end of hurricane Katia. Amazing to see how the sand shifted each day

The only criticism one can offer this site is the British weather. The whole place is clean, spacious and well managed. Free Wi Fi is available but a contribution does not go amiss.
The staff are polite and helpful.
The talking point for us when we got home was the incredible toilet block. They have spared no expense to make it the finest you have ever seen.
There is a safe area for kids. The beach is a short walk. If we had the weather you would not find a finer place to enjoy a beach holiday.

As every one has said before this is a very comfortable site with every pitch having its own tap and waste drain.
The toilets and facilities are super.
It is a bit regimented but that's no problem to us.
WE [that is ]wife 2 grown up daughters and 2 dogs always spend 1 long weekend away every year. The priority being good toilets etc, a good beach for the dogs and friendly pub.
The one thing we did find pretty grim was
On the first night we were a bit late so we bought fish and chips from [i think its called the pie shop ] I can honestly say they were the worst fish and chips we have ever tried to eat.
However the pub next to the level crossing is very good, They welcome dogs providing you sit outside and as it was a nice day it suited us fine

Our first time away in our caravan and we choose to stay here for 1 night just to see what caravanning would be like. Friendly staff greeted us on arrival, managed to park the caravan with ease as the spaces are sufficient in size. Our pitch 29 was by the dog walk area, which was handy as we had a westie.
Beach only a 10 minute walk away, lovely beach.
Good area for children to play, I even went on the swings myself (age 34, had a glass of wine ot two!)
Local shop just 5 minutes walk away, handy.
Site showers/toilets very clean and plenty of them too.

A lovely site, with the best toilet and shower facilities I have ever seen. Large shower cubicles, with seating area, which were kept immaculately clean. Shower facilities would have been perfect if only the shower had stayed on longer (you get about 30 seconds!) with each press of the button.
We stayed for a week during the school holidays. The site was full on arrival, and our only criticism of the site is that the pitches are somewhat close together (removing one pitch from each row would make be a huge improvement). The rows are set out as 'cul-de-sacs', so trying to manoeuvre our caravan onto its pitch was quite tricky (thank heavens for our mover!). Saw several other caravans having the same problem. May not have been an issue if there site had not been full.
Nice children's play area and large playing field, 10 minutes walk to a wonderful sandy beach (across the golf course and over sand dunes) and 10 minutes to local mini-market (no shop on site).
The scenery from the site was lovely; overlooking fields with Snowdonia as a backdrop, and Harlech castle up on the hill (looks lovely when lit up at night).
Harlech itself has a good selection of quality tea shops, a fantastic ice-cream shop, and of course the castle.
We would certainly recommend this site.

Very little I can add to the previous positive comments other visitors to the site have made.
A perfect touring site for Wales, with Harlech castle as the backdrop, beautiful sandy beaches are within 10 minutes from the site and offer some of the cleanest beaches around.
Local swimming pool and shops are within 500 mtrs from the site.
The pitches were a bit tight together and the grass cutting machines didn't collect the cuttings, so wet grass stuck to your feet.
Cannot praise the site management team highly enough.

Been going to Min Y Don for about 20 years and since before it was done up.
Fantastic location, fantastic views, fantastic beach, fantastic staff, fantastic facilities - definitely a favourite of ours - just fantastic!
Spar shop 5 mins walk.
Harlech is a little further up a steep hill and is lovely little town with some great little restaurants.
There's plenty to do in all directions from walking locally or in Snowdonia to shopping in Barmouth or Porthmadog.
Facilities as good as the very best club sites but better value and more laid back.
Highly recommended.

We have just returned from this site and we couldn't fault it. The staff were second to none, the toilet block was superb, the park was spotless and the location was great.
We would have liked to have booked a hard standing but were told upon booking that they were not really large enough to accommodate an awning so we booked one of the grass pitches.
Luckily, the weather was dry the whole time we were there so the usual problems encountered on grass pitches ie. mud, grass etc. Being carried into the van on our feet and on our dog, luckily, didn't arise.
There is a bus service to Barmouth and a train to Porthmadog about 10 minutes walk away (not all that frequent though!) which is an invaluable asset for motorhome owners.
The scenery surrounding the park is wonderful. We will visit again!
