Very nice site. It is a little different to most caravan club sites as it has lots of static vans. Touring pitches are right at the back of the site. There is no shop on site but there is a small well stocked shop just down the road.

Make sure you take toilet chemicals with you as they don't sell it on site. We had to go into a hardware store in Harlech and we got the last.

The check in was quick. The staff were not particularly friendly.

The shower/toilet block is immaculate. It's heated with piped music and big showers. The best we have come across yet. We have been on the road since April so have visited many sites.

It is a 5 minute walk to the site entrance and another 5 minutes to the main road. There is a lovely pub 5 minutes walk from the main road with the cheapest beer that we have come across yet. Also nice meals. Harlech Castle and shops are a 15 minute walk up the steep hill from the main road.

It is a 5 minute walk down to the beach from the site entrance.

Be careful choosing your route into the site. The sat nav directs you past harlech Castle. Even though we had read previous warnings we still got caught out. We have a twin-axle van so was a very scary moment. The street is extremely narrow with hairpin bends. The trouble is once you turn into the road you can't turn back.

All in all we would recommend this site. It's location is ideal for visiting Harlech.

What can I say but fantastic! The staff were most welcoming on our arrival. Pitches all have electric hook up, fresh water and waste which we didn't expect. Lovely flat pitches, with views towards Snowdon and some with views of Harlech castle.

The toilet and shower block is immaculate. Never closed for cleaning as they had shutters to shut half of the block off while they cleaned. A nice touch was the radio playing in the toilets/showers. My husband assured me the chemical toilet disposal was also excellent!

A 10 minute walk and you are on Harlech beach which is beautiful. Dogs were allowed on one half of the beach during the summer months.

A walk into Harlech is a must - although up a very steep road! The castle is magnificent and well worth a look round. The views too are lovely.

We drove to Llanberis, about 45 mins away, and walked up, and down Snowdon. The views from the top were fantastic and well worth the 4 hour trek up!

Can't wait to return to Min Y Don!

Just returned from a five night stay covering the Bank Holiday Weekend. Fabulous site, great location and the reception staff couldn't be more pleasant or helpful. Our motorhome is quite long (over 32') and they did their very best to accommodate us. Super pitches are great, no need to move to empty tanks or re-fill fresh water. As said previously the shower block is very clean and very modern and very warm! Hairdriers available too. Great site for kids, plenty of space to ride bikes etc and really good play area at the end of the site so those without children are not bothered by them either!

The supermarket at the end of the road is open late and extremely reasonable, as were the shops in the town. The beach is superb; miles and miles of it and even though weather great and bank holiday, hardly anyone about.Perfect! Not sure if normal but was very windy and it blows right across the site so take windbreaks, they are a must. Came back from a day on the blaenau ffestiniog steam train and the poles of one of our windbreaks round the van had snapped in two. Great site and will return.

After reading previous reviews I booked this site for a 2 week break over Easter.

As previously mentioned in other reviews this site does have excellent toilet and washing facilities and the site is neatly laid out. However there are a few points to consider when booking this site that nobody has mentioned earlier.

The pitches are a little crammed in with just enough room for your unit and an awning - the car has to be placed in front of your unit with little room for movement especially on the fully serviced pitches.

The hot water for the showers are on a timer and only last for a few seconds before switching off and the water is not really that hot in the showers or washbasins (as far as I was aware you can not adjust the heat setting!)

Another problem was that there was little or no internet connection while on site - no problem if you are one of the lucky few who can go on holiday without having to work but in this day and age when technology is everything and people need to access the internet this can cause a few problems!

The reception closes at five everyday and there is no shop on site. There is a shop very close the site, however, but this and most of the other shops / eating places in Harlech itself do not accept credit / debit cards. Therefore you need quite a bit of cash for a stay longer than a few days! and some of the cashpoints are not always in use!

Apart from the above negative points this is a nice clean site and well maintained and very popular.

What a lovely site. In a fantastic position at the foot of Harlech Castle which is half an hour's walk uphill and 15 minutes walk back - downhill! The castle is well worth a visit as is Portmerion with its easy parking for motorhomes and the Festiniog railway.

The site itself was immaculate, the pitches are larger than most sites we have been on and the newly refurbished wash block is the best we have ever seen anywhere!

Reception could be a little more friendly though - ok when you check in but that was it. We didn't see them at all during our stay of four nights.

The beach is a 15 minute stroll and well worth it - a most lovely beach and there is a top class golf site next door. What else could you ask for?

Would I recommend this site? For the site itself, its location in North Wales and its proximity to the beach in one direction and the castle in the other, yes.

3 nights at this site. Very neatly laid out in straight rows with little or no 'greenery' between the pitches. It is immaculately kept but for us had no character.

The beach is lovely and you can walk for miles. The walk up to Harlech, the town, IS steep but if you stop to 'admire' the view a number of times it isn't too bad. The castle is well worth the £3.50 to visit. The tea shop that provides chips with all its sandwiches and baguettes is also well worth visiting. The chips are to die for!

Great site, particularly the loo block, as various previous reviewers have commented. Liked site layout and the way the statics are separate from the touring area.

Very helpful & welcoming staff.

Didn't get to the beach due to poor(er) weather on the days we stayed local, but had read it is excellent, as are many beaches along this coast.

Easy route by road up to Snowdonia; great for pre-booked or speculative trips to Llanberis to take ride on Snowdon Mountain Rlwy.

Will be on our re-visit list if/when next in N Wales.

The Min y Don site in Harlech is one of the nicest sites we have stayed in. The reception staff were very helpful and the cost (£17 for a Motorhome +2) really reasonable. The site is affiliated to the Caravan Club so there may be a discount scheme for members.

The site is flat and all the pitches have power, water and waste points. The toilet facilities are 5 star and a credit to the owners, I wish more site owners would look at places like this and see the way it should be done.

We didn’t get a lot of time to look at Harlech itself but it seemed fairly quiet although we did find a good pub on the main street to have a nice meal and watch a world cup game. Word of warning though – you have to climb a cardiac hill to get there! There is a pub on the flat not far from the site entrance that does food but was full of notices about advance bookings, so we gave it a miss. Would definitely return here again if we were in the area.

What a fantastic site! Perfectly situated on a lovely sandy beach. Beautiful beach and surrounding views.

Fab facilities. Water and water disposal next to each unit. The shower block was ultra modern, warm with loads of space and extremely clean. It has won the best loo in wales competition and you can see why. Piped radio 2 adds to your relaxation whilst having a shower.

Good play area again with lots of space. All areas immaculate. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Grocery shop 5 minutes stroll away. Harlech village and castle 10 minutes drive. Some nice gift shops and a few pubs. Indian and chinese restaurant plus what looked like a lovely Caribbean restaurant too!

Portmadog worth a visit 30 mins away by car (has the nearest Tescos) and Barmouth to for a browse. Great coastal path walks and beautiful beaches including Shell Island. We had a great time!

I am disabled following a stroke and can only say that the site and staff are perfect. The huge disabled toilet wet room is the best facility I have ever used, it was easier for me to have a shower than at home. The doors into the toilet blocks are now on automatic open and shut operation with the disabled door giving more time to get through, perfect, I was able to take a mobility scooter right into the disabled room, perfect.

There are terrific views up to Harlech and across to the Snowdonian range. The nearby shop is fully stocked and open from 8.0am through to 10.00 pm 7 days a week and only 300 yards from the site entrance, walk onto the main road and turn right to reach the most delightful pub, under new experienced management that serves top class food from snacks to quality meals, with wonderful helpful staff.

Again just on the main road is the railway station with very regular trains running along what must be the most scenic coastal in Wales. The trains are always on train, operated by Arriva, again with helpful and friendly staff.

To sum up the site is beautifully kept with manicured Lawns, beautiful plant and flower beds. Nice smooth connecting roads and above all brilliant,f riendly and helpful staff. In over 40 years caravanning this is the first time I have felt the need to leave a review for what is, I believe a site from the top drawer
