A Fantastic Site - great all round views of Snowdonia - Completely level site but very exposed and very very windy with no shelter, be warned the winds here are very very strong !
Facilities are good but I would not have spent £500,000 on a toilet block - nice as it was!
Be careful when booking as the website suggests that each and every pitch is fully serviced and they are not - approx half have fully serviced pitches including toilet hook-up, electric hook-up, water and waste hook-up and TV point - however the other half only have water, waste and electric - so be aware!
TV reception here is top notch no need for an aerial the transmitter is at the end of the site!
There is not an on site shop but there is one five minutes walk down the road along with a good fish and chip shop takeaway.
Five minutes walk west is the the beautiful sandy golden Harlech beach breathtaking in both a good and bad weather !

What a fantastic site! It has obviously recently been landscaped and refurbished and is immaculate. The site itself is level with tarmac roads leading to the daily mown grassed 'super' pitches - each pitch has its own electric hook-up, water tap and drain. The toilet blocks are state of the art - they look fantastic, were spotless during our stay and had piped music playing. Access to the toilet blocks, dishwashing room and laundry is by swipe card for which a £10 deposit is payable. The large children's play area looked great fun and had a trim trail, swings etc. Children seemed quite happy riding around the site on little bikes and scooters too. There is a dog walking field on site with a circular gravel path for humans. The site sells gas but does not have a shop although there is a little corner shop at the entrance to Beach Road. The sandy beach is a short walk away from the site - dogs are allowed on part of it. Being so near to the beach, the site does get windy (we only had one very windy night though) so take lots of pegs and a storm strap. It takes about 15 minutes to walk into Harlech but the walk is up a very steep hill. There is a Brasserie and Bar before the ascent however (unfortunately didn't get to go into it.) There are plenty of great resorts and attractions within a short driving distance too - Porthmadog, Porthmeirion etc. We had a great week here - the site had a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere due to the owners who are two of the most genuinely friendly people you could meet and staff.

An amazing site, probably the best we've been to. Massive, immaculate, spacious, flat, with state of the art award winning toilet/shower block. Free hot showers and cubicles, even the toilet cubicles were enormous and classy! Staff in the office were friendly. We spent Easter weekend looking out of our caravan window at Harlech Castle, standing majestically. As the light fades and the wine is poured, the castle is lit up, amazing. Massive play area further into the site. Mini supermarket a 10 min walk away. Short walk to beach the other way. Great views
A walk into Harlech is about 15mins, and you can enter the castle and gift shops. Quaint village, but don't expect a Marks up there! Barmouth is 12 miles away.
Cant fault this site. Absolutely gorgeous.

We stayed here just after the upgrade to the toilet block, and they weren't really advertising so it was almost empty.
Fantastic views of the hills and the castle. Kids managed the walk to the beach and back without too much moaning!
Friendly and helpful site owner/manager and other visitors, lots of assistance when the awning blew down, and then again when the van broke down!
Being on flattened out sand dunes, the site drains brilliantly, apart from the tarmac bits which were laid a little too flat and get covered in large puddles when it rains!
And boy, can it rain here! and blow! However, when the hills were inaccessible due to weather, there was lots to do in the area with the kids.
Only minor difficulty was getting hold of gas.

What a superb site,
We arrived to a warm friendly welcome from the site managers, the money spent on this site in the recent refurbishment must have been awesome. The facilities are outstanding, the shower & toilet block are as they say ' state of the art' they give you an electronic card to gain access to these areas which carry a £10 deposit which is refundable when handed back.
The pitches are all level, mostly grass, few hardstandings all have electric hookup, water, & waste disposal. The site seems well drained as it rained heavy when we were there with no puddles. Superb chidrens play area, with football field & goal posts.
The surrounding areas are well worth a visit, such as the slate quarry's in Blaenau Festiniog, though driving through this town I find depressing in all its greyness, but don't let this put you off, as further on you come across places like Betws-y-Coed, look out for Swallow Falls, the narrow gauge railways are all worth a visit with their stunning views. If you just want to stay put then the site itself has lovely views of the Snowdonia mountains, a lovely beach just 10-15 mins walk away, mini market, chip shop, pub all 5 mins walk on the flat.
Cant wait to return to this place again.

What a cracker!
Really nice site, showers and toilets in need of a refurb (understand this is planned for after this season) but clean and functional.
Big games field with football goals for the kids, 10-15 minute walk to the beach, bit more into town (up a 20% hill!) but mini market, chippy (*2) and pub (*2) within 5 minutes on the level!
Overlooked by castle (superb) and with views to the mountains.
Don't try and drive into the town itself (it just grid locks) walk up the hill - its not THAT bad - and you have a great castle nice mix of little shops and a great pub or two.
The slate quarry up the road is worth a visit too.they give you a hard hats, a torch and a map and say 'go in over there'!
we had mixed weather for the week a 2 year old an a 5 year old in tow and still managed to enjoy ourselves enough to be going back some time soon!
One word of warning it blew a bit while we were there, and I was told by a regular that they had lost an awning previously - so take a storm strap!

We have visited this site several times over the last 12 months and we love it. It is perfectly positioned for the most wonderful safe sandy beach with warm sea water! The site is beautiful with stunning views of the castle and across to the Snowdonia mountains. Harlech itself is quaint and quiet with a couple of nice pubs, some lovely walks and a great view across the estuary to Portmeirion. Seasons and Reasons is a shopping experience and the sandwiches from the shop opposite are amazing! The site itself is level, very clean and very friendly. Facilities are basic but clean and functional, in fact the showers (which are free) are real power showers - better than ours at home! We will ceratinly be visiting frequently again this summer.

Was looking forward to spending Easter here as the site is positioned perfectly for the beach but was disappointed to find out that the owner is no longer accepting tents, only touring caravans. What a shame, looks like we'll have to find an alternative site :-(

This campsite I have no hesitation in recommending. Facilities are however basic and in need of upgrading but very clean. There is no campsite shop. Beach is a short walk. There is plenty of space for kids to play. Owners of site very friendly. Harlech itself is a bit limited. However there is lots going for the place, the views, the sea and the beach are fantastic.

Well I'd been to this campsite several years ago and not much has changed. The major difference I could see was that whereas the showers used to cost 20p now they are free. The notices about this are still up which rather confised me the first day.
The toilet and shower blocks are old but clean. There is a fair sized area for tents and vans which is nice and flat. After this there is and empty field to run around/ throw a frisbee/ kick a ball etc. in.
The car park for the beach (which is over the dunes) isn't really any closer, so it's good for beach based holidays, and it is a good beach. Go the other way and there is the castle (worth a visit too).
There is a well stocked corner shop, err, on the corner. And a pub just round that corner. And some more pubs up the hill, which was a bit steep so we never made it up there.
We were just in tents and didn't run out of gas so I can't comment on hook ups or any of that.
