Very impressed with the park. The staff were very pleasant and helpful specially as we had intended to visit in July but had to rearrange at the last minute, for August without any problem whatsoever even though the park was extremely busy. The excellent shower and toilet facilities were the best we have experienced. The surrounding Snowdonian countryside and places to visit were excellent ie Harlech, Barmouth Porthmadog Portmerion etc. Would definitely revisit.

The site is absolutely lovely. Very well kept, adequate space between units, although the lighting bollards are a little tricky to manoeuvre around. The play area is excellent. As everyone has said the toilet block is amazing - very modern and clean. My only complaint is that the showers only came on in blasts of about 10 seconds at a time, which was really annoying. Also having the elsan disposal indoors meant it was really smelly - I think I prefer the outdoor option. The beach shower was brilliant.
There is a lovely beach at Harlech - lovely sand and waves great for boarding but there isn't really much else to do. The Castle is worth a visit but that's about all. The site owner would make a killing if he put a decent shop on site as the convenience store up the road was hopeless.
Take lots of pegs for your awning as it is VERY windy!
Definitely worth a visit.

This site is by far the best we have stayed at in terms of facilities, layout and staff.
The toilet blocks are fantastic - lots of spacious fab shower cubicles, free hairdryers, huge toilet cubicles and the whole thing extremely clean and warm.
Unfortunately we cut our stay short as we were hammered by torrential rain and gale force winds (we were informed by a long term resident that the site is very exposed to the wind). That said, we were on a grass pitch and the ground was extremely well drained showing no sign of the heavy rain (the roads were a different matter).
We have two small children who loved the play area (only managed to get on it twice!) but it is fantastic. A large open field with good play equipment.

Is is very much a commercial site, with a strong regimental layout. There are about half a dozen hardstanding pitches with the rest being grass. Each pitch has a “services” post which provides at least electric, water and waste points. While everyone is six metres away sideways, ‘vans are as little as two metres apart back to back. This can be a problem if you are adverse to excessive noise or don’t fancy the beat of dance music from the awning behind you!
All that said, the facilities block is the best we’ve experienced and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design of it. Never before, for instance, have I seen soap and a hand basin in a toilet waste disposal room. The beech is a short walk from site as is a convenience store. A Spar is up the hill in Harlech but it is strongly recommended never to drive to it, as parking is a nightmare and the roads are thin!

Its been 3 years since we last visited Min Y Don and my god what a difference 3 years makes!
Its been bought by Salop Leisure and they have spent ££££.Mostly to the good!
The site is in a glorious location at the base of the cliffs from the castle and bordering the beach 5 mins walk down one road and through Dunes - Mini market and chip shop and 2 pubs at other end of the road (result!)
The site has been completely refurbished and to the highest standard I have EVER seen (including Caravan Club sites).
A brand new shower/laundry/toilet/elsan emptying room/beach shower block has been built.
The ladys/gents are both split into two rooms with large through passages that can be closed while cleaning is in progress so they only ever have to close half the facilities (clever!). The shower cubicles are mini 'wet rooms' with plenty of space to get one adult and a couple of kids in at once. Free showers etc and always plenty of hot water etc.
Elsan emptying room with stainless bench with emptying funnel set in it (18' diameter) with wash gun, flush, separate wash basin and hand drying - brilliant!
The ground has been flattened (and it was pretty flat before) and extra drainage put in (its on a sand anyway!). It rained for almost two weeks solid during our visit and the ground was only noticeably even damp on one occasions (to be fair it had rained so hard some of the window seals on our van were weeping with the wind/rain combination that night!)
Unfortunately the roads are also perfectly flat on the site so they DO flood to 1/2' in places ( why did they not put a camber on them?) no big issue. But take your crocs for paddling round the site!
The pitches have power, water and grey waste on them (spot on!) so take a few feet of waste hose and leave our waste hog at home!.
Staff plentifully and VERY pleasant.
Great kids playground and separate dog walking areas (don't have a dog but it looked large and very well done!) - do have kids and they LOVED the playground - so 5 stars from them!
Now the bad points
No digital freeview in the area and half the touring pitches (right hand side of the site) are useless for satellite due to the high trees.
Very nice lighting bollards round the roads, 10' square wooden posts 2 1/2 feet high with lights on top. Why is this a bad point I hear you ask? Some are positioned on the inside and outside of the (tight) turn-ins to the side access roads to the pitches meaning I VERY nearly (<1' miss!) nearly took the side of the van out on one. Where they have put them down the side roads half of them are directly in front of the pitches in the middle of the pitch - this makes a number of the pitches (30%?) impractical without a mover to swing the unit on its axis to get it in behind the bollard
In case you think I am exaggerating on a walk from the toilet block to our unit I counted at least 10 separate 'collision' marks on the posts (one had obviously had the side of a unit!) - several post looked like they had had more than one 'close encounter'
Summary - lovely location, great site/facilities let own by one thing being poorly planned and executed

This is a great newly rebuilt site. It has an excellent facilities block and tidy pitch arrangement. The pitches are at the end of the site (after the statics) and will become even better in the future with tree growth.
It is near to the centre of Harlech which has a few good places to eat, a Castle to visit and Golf course just over the road. It is a 12-15 minute walk (not the 5 claimed!) to the beach, you might consider driving down to the dunes if you have lots of beach kit and paying to park.
Barmouth (holiday town) and Portmadog (via 40p - return, toll bridge) are well worth a day-trip, as might be Portmerion Village.
There is a local swimming pool for rainy days, but it will be busy.
The site can get very windy, so much so we had to get help to put up our awning.
The owners have done an excellent job, my three recommendations (which I shall put to them in a letter) are; 1) cars are rather randomly parked (it was like a 4x4 convention) spoiling the appearance. 2) the loo/shower block requires a card which if you lose, as we did, will cost you dear (£10 a time). 3) after spending a reputed £500,000 on the shower block the doors (heavy) are extremely wearisome and and taps/showers could do with a little tweaking.
Other than small issues, it is a super place to spend a week and well placed for lots of interesting days out. Less good for lazing around as it is more functional than beautiful.
WE WILL RETURN.

We stayed at Min Y Don earlier this year. The facilities were second to none.I can honestly say that the toilet blocks were the most modern that we have been to anywhere in this country. There was plenty of room on the pitches which were very well planned out.Although we didn't have children with us we noticed a very clean and well looked after chidrens play ground on the far side of the site, where there was also an area for dog walking which was completely fenced off,and again in a good, clean condition. There is a small shop just at the top of the lane, which sold almost anything that you might need.
There is also a fish and chip shop there too, but while we were there in May,it only opened a couple of nights aweek. If you turn right at the top of the lane, there is a pub on the left just past the railway station, and opposite the golf club.We had several meals there, but it is better to book as they get very busy,Sorry, but I can't remember the name of it. The site owners recommended it to us so I am sure that they will tell you.
The views of Harlech Castle from the site are spectacular. It is only a short walk to the beach over the sand dunes and through a golf course and is well worth the effort. Due to the close proximity to the shore, the winds were very strong at times, and unfortunately several people had damage to their awnings, we took ours down after the second night. This was no ones fault, just the good old British weather. I would highly recommend this site.

We got the 2009 summer in Harlech! Arrived with the sunshine and left 10 days later as the rain arrived. We were able to eat outside for every meal and enjoy the fantastic clear views of Snowdonia and the Castle. The beach is a hidden gem - a walk through the golf course to miles of stunning golden sand - that on some days was too hot to tread on! Our biggest task was keeping ourselves and our dogs cool. It was fantastic that three quarters of the beach was dog-friendly - ours loved it and so did many many more. Clear blue warm sea, gently sloping so safe and wonderful to dip into. Even managed some body boarding as the tide changed!
The site was very well run, welcoming and friendly managers who managed to fit my mum in near to us with her newly-acquired van at short notice. Excellent dog walking field - but why do some men find it so hard to clear up?? Provided some amusement to watch the super-fast grass cutting between each departure and arrival.Good facilities - as mentioned by others, the loos are immaculate: if I was being picky I would say the front oak doors are too heavy - I helped a couple of more elderly ladies shove them open and closed. And there aren't enough hooks behind the loo doors for towels/washbags/spare clothes etc. Who goes without them? So they had to lie on the floor - not great.
Plenty of waste bins but I did not find any recycling ones for paper or bottles which, given the number that were accumulating, would have been useful!
My only slight gripe with the site was that it did feel a bit regimental and you were a bit close to others - we were lucky in our neighbours but I imagine that could cause problems sometimes.
Harlech could do more to smarten itself up and make more of its wonderful location and castle and beach - but then maybe it would get over-run and spoil it for those of us who have discovered it! The station in particular is grim - why does nobody clear away the rubbish everywhere and plant some tubs to make it welcoming. The journey to Barmouth though is beautiful and well worth it
The Y Branwen, just near the site,is a lovely pub with good food and welcome - but the others were less good. We tried the Coleg Harlech just up the hill for cinema twice - quaint and not well patronised which is a shame.
All in all a great time enhanced by fantastic weather and the best tan I have ever had! We will certainly be back - if we can get in!

This site is located adjacent Royal St David’s golf club, Harlech and is affiliated to the Caravan Club. It is open from March to November for members and non-members. Access from 1pm. The site is at the rear of a static caravan park on level ground between the railway and the beach.
Welcome on arrival was very good with clear explanation of site facilities. Generally the site staff were very friendly and helpful. You are allocated a pitch when you book. Access to the toilet block is via an electronic card which requires a £10 cash deposit.
There are 82 touring pitches with a choice of grass or hardstandings. Some of the pitches have their own water supply and waste water point. Pitches are level so you will not need levelling blocks.
There is a very modern state of the art single heated toilet block with showers, and WCs. This was very high quality with spacious facilities and kept immaculate. Also a parent/toddler room and disabled facility, washing up/vegetable preparation area, laundry facilities and chemical disposal point. The only problem we had was with the solid oak doors which are very heavy and on strong door closers. If you walk with a stick and carrying your washing gear you need help to get into the superb facilities.
Service points around the site for water and rubbish disposal. Recycling facilities
Plenty of places to walk your dog.
Small supermarket close to the site which sells most basic products plus off-licence. Large Tesco and lots of smaller stores in Porthmadog about 10 miles away.
We paid £19.25 per night for hardstanding pitch with its own water supply and waste water point, 16amp electrical hook-up, caravan, awning and two adults.
Local attractions include:
• Harlech town and Castle with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and Snowdonia. If you walk the hill is very steep and takes about 15 minutes and must be worth two trips to the gym
• Harlech beach which is about 10 minutes walk
• Portmeirion the Italianate village
We were very lucky with the weather and thoroughly enjoyed our few days in Harlech.

Great; very welcoming. Definitely intend to go again.
We're new to caravanning, having previously camped, and this site was fantastic; I wish the normal tenting campsites had been as good! Flat site; great playpark; short flat walk to the beach; short walk to nearby shop (doesn't take cards & there's a charge for the cash machine; also I don't recommend the fish & chip shop adjacent to the shop). Very picturesque outlook: overlooked by Harlech castle (worth the uphill walk) &, a little further afield, the mountains of Snowdonia.
Toilet facilities immaculate - no close down for cleaning because they've designed them so they can be partitioned off with shutters; massive shower cubicles so easy to take the little ones in with you; free showers & hairdryer.
