 A campsite with plenty of room and fantastic views of Snowdonia. Rates are very reasonable for a holiday coast site. Owner very friendly . Facilities (toilet/showers/washroom)are basic and need refurbishment but are kept very clean and there is plenty of free hot water. There is a large field at end of site for kids to play on. There is no campsite shop , however there is a small supermarket and fish and chip shop at end of road. The beach is ten minutes walk away. The beach is of fine sand and I saw no litter. The sea slopes very gently and is very clean and clear, ideal for kids to play in. Harlech itself has little to offer by way of entertainment or pubs or places to eat. Castle however is fantastic.

Firstly it has been a few years since we have visited Min-Y-Don but some idea of the site is better than nothing. We chose this site for two main reasons, it was cheap and the beach is a childs dream.
First the site, well it was a family run affair, Mr Jones (honest) Usual toilet block showers etc. Site has many statics some for hire and ample space for tourers and campers. There is nothing on the site entertainment wise but it does have its own shop selling essentials and toys for the beach.
The site is overlooked by Harlech castle that is floodlit at night.
The beach is a ten minute walk (with kids) along a single quiet road that leads through the links golf course onto sand dunes then the beach itself. My kids spent so many happy hours moving this beach spadefull by spadeful. The area is great if you have a car as Harlech itself has a great castle and pubs but little more.
It is a great base though for Snowdonia etc. The railway station is about a quarter of a mile away from the site so if you have no transport you could still visit and spend all holiday on the beach (heaven) If you want peace and quiet and you have young children look no further :)
