This was our first experience of camping.
Decided on St Davids as I had been there as a kid, many years ago.
Weather absolutely great. Campsite spotless - no litter. Toilet / shower facilities also spotless despite the campsite being quite busy. I regularly saw cleaning staff attending the facilities during the day.
The beach on your doorstep is the reason people like this site so much.
Only drawback is the 'pitch anywhere' policy.
We were rather concerned that if we took our car out for the day, that someone may pitch their tent in the space where the car used to be.
Shop is now very small, so a trip out to the local Spar (1 mile by car) is the best way to stock up.
Overall a really good first experience, we will certainly be going back.

We stayed at St. Davids park last year and loved the location we went back the following weekend and have just stayed for a few nights again at the beginning of the Easter break!
The prices for the pitches are a bit high esp when they increase in may, but the area is beautiful
We pitched right on the edge overlooking the beach and you couldn't ask for better views, however it can get very windy which can make pitching and packing up very difficult. With tents almost taking off like kites! the ground is very rocky and heavy duty pegs are a must, but the site is also very flat which makes it excellent for tents.
The toilets and showers were clean and the facilities included a family room which had a toilet, shower and bath! which would be excellent for very young children, there were also disabled facilities but we never used these, so can't comment.
There is a small park and play area which my children enjoyed and also the family friendly atmosphere meant that there were plenty of other children to play ball games with etc
The staff were very friendly, the pub has had a recent refurbishment and was very family friendly. The prices in the shop were a little high
It is a beautiful, peaceful location and we spent hours on the beach as a family searching for crabs, fish and other creatures of which there are plenty and the children thoroughly enjoyed. You can walk in either direction along the beach when the tide is out to neighbouring areas, which have several places to eat and get ice creams etc
We will be returning to this site due to its location and good, clean facilities and would recommend it to anyone who loves being near the coast

We loved this site.
We had an EHU pitch, and when we arrived there was not much choice and had to pitch very close to another (identical) tent. Unfortunately there is no specific markings or allocated pitches.
There is much more space for non EHU pitches.
The views from this camp site are superb, over the sea and to mainland Wales. If you are lucky, you will be able to pitch right by the cliff edge - recommend early arrival during peak season and weekends!
Fantastic with kids - being virtually on the beach meant that we were able to do this in the morning and after tea and still be able to go out every day. However, you do need to be careful as the camping fields didn't have anything to stop you going right to the very edge and there is a bit of a cliff, but only an extra minute walk to go down the boat ramp or to the private beach. There is also a children's play area close to the camping fields.
Even though we visited the site (just) outside of the school holiday, the shop owner still offered us fresh eggs and bacon and stocked all the usuals. It is only a few minutes into Benllech, where there is a Spar.
The toilet and shower facilities were excellent and very clean, however by the end of our week there was only about 5 units there. Cannot therefore comment on what they would be like during peak season, however the staff were very attentive and very helpful, and although last year we were able to visit outside of school holidays, from now on we will not be able to do this (DS started reception in January), we would not hesitate to visit this site again.

We stayed at St Davids on the windiest ever bank holiday weekend in May. We arrived on the Saturday and could not reach the Electric point, however the Site supervisor quickly found us an extension cable, and was extremely helpful for the duration of our stay. The site is in a fantastic location, our children loved playing on the beach and the play area.
Showers were reasonably clean and available 24 Hrs,we were informed upon arrival that the Pub had just appointed a new manager (probably due to the previous comments), but the prices remained unchanged, the site could benefit from a more effective drier in the launderette.
Over all we had a great time at St Davids and will be returning again.
Ps Take heavy duty rock pegs the ground is hard!

A beautiful spot to camp but yes it's very windy and the ground is stony. Two washing up sinks for the whole campsite and one hand-dryer in the toilet block
That said this is a great place for families but remember your own provisions as shop sells only the basics. Service of food in the tavern was very slow BUT there'd been a change of management that weekend . However the food was good, reasonably priced and plentiful so ok in the end.

Was our first time camping and we thoroughly loved it. The site was beautiful with great views over the beach. Kids play area was ok. Shower block was immaculate and was cleaned at least once if not more a day. Shop was small but had basics however they only take cash not cards. The tavern was a different story however. Very expensive £8.50 for average dinner. Very slow servive (over 1hr wait for a meal) and the staff were rude (when people complained the food was cold the staff said 'what do you expect for the price'). Also ran out of certain types of beer. But do not let this put you off as the rest of the site makes up for this. Would I go again? definitely.

There is a onsite shop which is very handy, not the biggest but covers the basics, milk bread papers, painkillers. The toilet block I thought was fantastic, completely tiled floor to ceiling large area in the showers for all your stuff, curtain also. More than enough sinks for everyone even on a bank holiday weekend, Also they are very clean, cleaned daily.
On site pub, staff fantastic the young manager could not do enough for us. Sky sports on the big screen all day, good selection of drinks but completely rip you off. If you’re going take your own and sit outside! Also poor selection and quality of food. Again over priced, £6.50 for a full fried breakfast which was at best average. But don’t let this put you off this is a fantastic site for the location and the views are stunning.
Pitches are fine but one thing I will warn you about is, if you are camping with electric hookup be warned, if you are at the beech end of the pitches there is a flood light right behind you on all night due to the boat park which also is right behind you, this shines and put it this way you don’t need a torch or a light when its dark outside.

This campsite is located within minutes of the beach, the campsite is not on a busy road so is quiet and peaceful. The Red Wharf Beach is great for walking your dogs onto and the surrounding areas have shops and takeaways which are within reach by a car. The toilet and shower blocks was clean and maintained. Great location if you want to go walks to beaches and explore the countryside.

Been to st Davids a dozen times in last 5 years, always been lucky with the weather! Can get very windy being on the headlands. Field 3 is best if not a bit rocky, showers OK card system not good (1 card 6 people!) if all want loo/showers at same time. Beach great, shop OK, pub too dear! But in the last 12 months I feel that the pitch cost £28 a night too steep

Nice site overall right next to the beach with ok facilities BUT expensive. At £28 per unit (up to 6 people) per night this is the most expensive site I've stayed on. And for that amount of money they could put some hooks in the showers ! The facilities were ok but could've been cleaner - it was very quiet on site too so no excuse there. The little tavern was nice, didn't try the food tho. There was also a lack of signage at the entrance - we made the mistake of parking up at the barriers (you need a swipe card to get in) and then walking to reception which I thought would be nearby (It's not). There's no signage and I ended up walking for ages ! There is a buzzer which neither of us spotted. Friendly people on reception and a nice camping field - but too expensive for me
