I stayed here in April with my 2 daughters. It was a lovely site, so peaceful. Great fishing pond. The owners were so polite and helpful. The grounds were so clean and everywhere was spotless. So if it's something for you I would definitely go. I'm now awaiting relay to go again in may, hopefully they will have some days for me, but I'm going on my own so quiet

A brilliant campsite. The members of staff are lovely and all with a very cheery disposition! The site is a lot larger than I thought it would be. The facilities are brilliant all clean and plentiful. The showers are hot and powerful, with free hair dryers. The shower/toilet blocks are the best I think I have ever been to, whilst camping. We didn't take children, but the facilities seem brilliant, they have an indoor play area with table football, ping pong (you need to provide your own balls at 30p each, from the shop), and a cushioned climbing frame. Outside they have a couple of other things to play on behind the swimming pool area. The swimming pool is £2. 50 to get in there is no time limit and you have access to a sauna. There is a café on site as well, we didn't eat there but the food did look lovely. There are two dog walking areas and there is a lovely looking fishing lake. The shop is well stocked with food, games and fresh bread. While we were there we went to Charmouth, and found lots of fossils, but the town was very minimalist for shops. We also went to Bridport, this is an old market town. There are lots of shops and places to eat. On the way home we went to Lyme Regis, a lovely little town on a hill! The site is just off a roundabout, really easy to find.

Arrived on site at around 5pm staff were quick to book us in and take us to our pitch. The pitch was right next to the hedge with stinging nettles having a rear access door we asked to be moved and this wasn't a problem, we found the site is large and well kept noise by residents was minimal however the A35 was constant. It is on a hill but pitches are quite flat. The dog walking areas are good as are the showers, cafe was ok to, nice play areas for the kids. Now the down side only a few things you have to pay for wifi, you have to pay for the pool, the fishing is chargeable we did pay for this as this was the main reason we came to this site on day two a resident informed us the lakes had been decimated by otters that come up from the stream, I felt annoyed that the site management never mentioned the fact there are no fish in the lake, another person fishing was equally annoyed as it is a wasted day! Apart from that it is a nice site but very expensive especially if you pay for the extras, and we were told it was a minimum 4 day booking but when on site other people were booked in for 1/2 days so felt a bit conned really as we only wanted 3 nights but had to pay for 4.

Just spent 8 days here. On arrival was met by the very friendly staff and were quickly shown to our pitch. They put near to the dog walking field at the top, its one of the better ones we have come across, it was huge and there was no problem letting the dog off the lead and they even provide poo bags, nice touch.

The pitch was in a good position with views out across the valleys.

It was a short walk down the hill to the toilet/shower block which was immaculately clean and there were enough blocks so there wasn't any waiting for showers etc. Even though the site was quite full at the weekend.

The shop was good with plenty to choose from especially the range of ciders.

They hold theme nights in the café/bar. We only went to the steak night. It was good value at £15 each for two courses, the food being very good.

The staff were always on hand to help if needed.

The only criticism I would have would be the charge to use the pool, if this happened in France, well it wouldn't be allowed, but if it did the owners would be strung up !

All in all a very enjoyable week was had

This park was our first experience camping with children. It is a beautifully set out park with plenty of toilets, washing up points and showers dotted around. We stayed around the camp-site quite a bit as it was so relaxing. Noise was minimal at night. There was a room for family washing which included a built in baby bath perfect for our younger children who were not yet ready for showers. A well stocked shop with really helpful and pleasant staff. This camp was recommended to us by friends and we recommend it to anybody who asks. Great place to go fossil hunting from.

Spent two nights here last week, and found the site to be just as good as other reviewers have said. Well landscaped, the site slopes in terraces down towards the café and pool. We were in the Stonebarrow Steps area which was convenient for the shop and toilets / showers yet felt secluded and quiet. There is some road noise from the adjacent A35, but nothing to keep you awake. We slept like logs!

Friendly, helpful staff; shop stocked with essentials and more. We didn't use the café - only because we didn't have time - but my wife enjoyed a swim in the spotless pool. (Minor gripe - would be better if the pool opened earlier than 10am for those who'd like an early morning swim. ) Facilities are clean and more than adequate for the site size with free hot showers and plenty of room for changing.

Bus stop is just across the road with a good service to Axminster or Lyme Regis. The small village of Charmouth is in easy walking distance with a pebble beach which is good for pottering and fossil hunting, a few provisions shops, a pub and a chip shop / café.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return.

Stayed for 3 nights Fri-Mon. Well landscaped site, pitches are terraced, and more or less level. We had a super pitch with hook-up, water, and drainage. Site itself hilly but most are in this area. Reception staff very friendly, and very helpful, Small shop in reception, selling all the essential, and a bit more! This is at the top of the site. At the bottom, is the cafe, pool, and games room. Cafe very clean, snack prices reasonable, meals a bit pricey. Have themed nights there, eg. curry night etc. Pool just a nice size, warm, and clean. Sauna poolside. Ladies changing rooms have 2 showers, but only one enclosed changing cubicle. Had to wait about 10mins after coming out of the pool because there were two of us waiting to use it! Nice games room with pool table, table tennis etc. Bats are provided, but you have to purchase ping pong balls from reception! Our closest toilets/showers were halfway down the field. As in previous reviews, these were spotless. They were individual rooms with toilet, washbasin, and shower cubicle. Some road noise, but nothing that kept us awake! Can walk into Charmouth (bit hilly coming back!), few little shops, lovely chippy, and nice little beach with parking.

NOT SO GOOD:-

Showers are push button, and they only stay on for about 10 secs - a pain if you are washing your hair. Plus you can't control the temperature. ! £2. 50pp per swim to use the pool. Although we paid extra for a serviced pitch, people were coming from the pitches along the sides of the site, and filling their water containers from our tap! & emptying their waste into our drain!

All in all a nice site, but for the pitch price I think one swim per day should be included, and the showers should not be on a timer.

More Cons than Pros. So firstly the Cons:

1. Smallest pitch and worst pitch in over 30 years of Touring. Caravan is only 6 metres long including A bar and it was just off the road at the front and about a metre from the nettles at the back. Plus the pitch had a steep slope both sides. Worst thing was looking out the window seeing the pitch the other side of the road which was about 4 times as big as the one we were given.

2. The nettles: we were holidaying with a toddler so had to make sure she never went near the nettles. A member of staff was strimming the few inches high grass round the static pitches but the touring pitches were left with 2 foot high nettles! I had to trample nettles in order to plug in my electric cable.

3. The noise. The staff member who took us to the pitch said he was taking us to the quiet part of the site. Apart from one evening when the A35 was closed, there was a constant drone of traffic. Even worse was the noise of the mini-digger and the chain saw right behind the caravan. Not forgetting the man on the mower who decided to mow very close around the caravan whilst we were in it. Bang went the nap for the toddler.

4. The showers: Push button showers certainly save water. The ones I used stayed on for between 2 seconds and 10 seconds (absolutely ridiculous). Plus no temperature control.

The Pros:

1. The staff: Nothing was too much trouble. The staff member who took us to our pitch helped push the caravan onto the pitch.

2. The soft play area.

3. The mother and baby room.

As our inaugural outing in our 'new' caravan, this site was ideal for us. Easy to find and easy access. The staff were very helpful and gave us a choice of hard standing pitches near the main entrance. Said that one of the staff would happily park the van for us if needed, but was easy to just push it onto the pitch.

Toilet and shower block were immaculate and they had a really good room for washing our 12 month old - with a built-in baby bath; however I did comment to the staff that there wasn't enough work-top or hooks to put all his stuff (Changing bag, Towel etc).

One thing that let's down the site, is the charge for the swimming pool, which I found quite restrictive when you have children, as you don't want them using it more than once a day, as could add quite a lot to your holiday. If it was included in the price, we would have used it a lot more.

Lyme Regis is a lovely place to go on a day trip and also Fossil hunting at Charmouth beach is a must. You can take your own hammer to save hiring one at the shop.

Fish and Chips at West Bay was definitely on our list, especially to have traditional Faggots, Chips, Peas and Gravy, but beware the Seagulls.

There's a big Morrisons in Bridport with a cafe, for cheap dinners and also a Minor Injuries unit at the Hospital in Bridport, which we unfortunately used for our baby who had an ear infection.

You will need a car for this site, as is just off the main road. We were warned about road noise by friends, but we weren't disturbed at all, as is one of those noises that just blurs out after a while.

Just come back from a stay here over the bank holiday with glorious weather. The booking in was straight forward and we were escorted around to our pitch by quad bike. Pulling in at the entrance did test the handbrake adjustment though!

The site is down the hill from the entrance off the A35, but almost all the pitches are on level terraces. The pitch we had was tarmac for the van with a pebbled area just to the side. Our small awning fitted just over this and we were able to peg in on the grass.

The site is immaculate and the staff are so genuinely pleasant, nothing is too much trouble and I think they would do anything within reason to ensure you had a good stay. The washrooms are all individual and were kept clean even though the site was close to capacity. The silence at night was unexpected, everyone seemed to be in bed by 10. The traffic could be heard but it was only the odd motorbike or boyracer with big bore exhausts that was a nuisance.

The pool and cafe was very good with the latter getting a bit of use due to our 'rushed' packing of foodstuffs. The cafe also sells alcohol with some local real ale included. The shop is in reception, it seemed to hold most essentials, with some toys and fishing tackle too. The play area was close by and was modern with a good covering of rubber safety chippings.

The nearest village and beach is Charmouth which is walking distance, with Lyme Regis a short bus ride away. We did notice that eating out was a bit more expensive than we are used to. The weekend wasn't long enough to get around everywhere we wanted to though.

All in all, definitely a site to come back to.
