The site has friendly staff, was very clean and well maintained and has beautiful views. It is very easy to get to, just off the A35 Charmouth roundabout.
The toilet block in the field where we were, although very clean, was inadequate for the number of pitches (about 50). There were only 2 toilet and 2 shower cubicles in gents’ washroom. My wife had to queue for a shower in the ladies’ washroom at 7AM! I also found the water from the fixed head shower was too hot but there was no way of controlling the temperature. We both took to showering in our own van. I suggest updating these facilities should be given priority.
I thought the pitches were somewhat impersonal – our pitch, as were many others, was overlooked on all four sides. Some form of shielding for the pitches should be considered. I felt that £27/night for our fully serviced pitch was a bit pricey in view of the shortcomings. We won’t be staying again.

We spent two nights here - just turned up. For me and four kids it cost £80.00 which I thought was quite high. I liked the idea of the bark chippings which preserved the grass and prevented tent getting muddy but it was not nice to walk on! Thankfully we all had air beds.
My boys loved the lake and the pitches were good sizes. We had a fire in our BBQ which was fab although the whole site seemed to go to bed at 9.00pm
A proper shop would make a killing
The fossil hunt on Charmouth beach is a must - don't forget your hammers

Very friendly welcome from excellent staff. Hillside site with plenty of space and an immaculate grassy dog walk with plenty of bags and bins provided.
Really peaceful, in spite of the busy main road, and the south facing slope the site is on makes it lovely and bright and sunny.
Facilities all good with excellent water pressure.
Charmouth beach and Lyme Regis just minutes away.
I will be back here.
Only downside is that the hardstandings are rather small.
Customer service is very good, they took care to find me the pitch I wanted and were always smiling and cheerful.

POSITIVE --Very friendly and warm welcome. Toilet and shower block spotless. The site was lovely and well maintained, Pitch site excellent and lots of space.
NEGATIVE -- Nothing to do for older children. Due to the size of the site there is scope for a bike area and definitely scope for a bar with entertainment.
Bus hourly and all areas are very hilly and steep, no good with children, therefore we hired a car to see the surrounding lovely villages.
Nice walk downhill to Charmouth beach but a drag back with kids & luggage.
We will not visit again.

The scenery on this site is spectacular, but the site is very hilly. The pitches seem to vary in size, our's was quite tight for the awning and owing to the slope we were unable to peg down one side sufficiently. This meant pushing water from the roof every 15 mins during the torrential rain overnight.
Be aware that the standard pitch electrical hook ups connect to one central point. We were caught out as our 10m lead wouldn't reach. The camp provided a 25m one free of charge to save the day. Shower blocks were good and clean, plenty of hot water with individual wash basin and shower cubicles.
We ate and drank in the pool side cafe, food was good and reasonably priced. We were pitched at the top of the site and did find the road noise a bit obtrusive, lower down the site was better. The take away fish bar was excellent, freshly fried battered fish, generous portions and reasonably priced.
The only criticism was the soft play area had been commandeered by older children playing with their mobile phones.
Lyme Regis is well worth a visit, check out the Town Mill Bakery in Coombe St. For a unique dining experience, eat at communal refectory tables, watch the food being prepared while you wait. During our visit the whole menu was vegetarian. Get into Lyme early and park at the large car park at the top of the hill, £1 all day.

We visted Wood Farm (2 adults 2 kids) at the start of the school holidays. It had a clean toilet block, washing up area and it was a friendly yet quiet site. Upon arrival we were shown to our pitch which was spacious. We had plenty of room for our caravan, large awning, car & grassed area to have a bbq & sit out in the sunny evenings.
There is a indoor pool, play area, games room and cafe. We only used the pool once, we are not tight but it was a shame to have to pay £2 per person per visit on top of the park fees for a quick swim. We would have certainly used it more if it had been included.
The only problem we found with the site is that although pitches were flat(ish) it was quite a hilly site and a climb upto the toilet block. Also the site is situated in a hilly area and we found we had to travel everywhere by car.
We explored the surrounding area, Charmouths rocky beach, Lyme Regis sandy beach & cinema, Sidmouth, Weymouth etc. There was plenty of entertainment on at Lyme Regis beach as was RNLI week and we saw daily activities including RAF parachute jump & helicopter display. The kids also enjoyed crabbing in the rock pools.
Would we return??? maybe? maybe not. Although we had a great weeks holiday I think we would like to try somewhere else next time.

Lovely site very clean. I found the toilet blocks always spotlessly clean and tidy. Our pitch was spacious at top of very steep hill (nearly burnt out clutch on our 4x4 reversing the van into place!) First impressions were great as we had lots of space and outstanding views.
However, the road noise from the A35 is very intrusive - noisy all night long. And what we didn't realise worse than the noise was the light pollution from the roundabout lights. However, negatives aside this was a great site. The pool and cafe a real asset. We had a really warm welcome, the shop had all necessary essentials and lots of local information.
It was a shame the kids couldn't ride their bikes around, very hilly but what fun!
Great walking area with our dog and we found Eype beach which had a lovely cliff top walk and the dog was allowed on the beach, cheap parking too.
Lovely site but with 2kids they didn't really settle down here can't put my finger on it but they were quite restless. Thank goodness for the pool.

Really good site, facilities excellent for children and site staff very helpful, found us a lovely pitch near to the playground for the kids and close to the showers etc. Also has an indoor games room with a soft play section, and indoor pool for when the english weather defeats you.
Although close to main road, our pitch was not noisy and the entire site was very quiet at night.
Only complaint is that the showers were so hot you couldn't actually stand underneath them for more than about 5 seconds, lucky really that they shut off after about that anyway!
The area around is beautiful, and Lyme Regis about 10 minutes drive away. Can't really walk anywhere (with kids anyway) as it's very steep hills.
Will almost certainly return next year

Just returned from this site. The site is on a very steep hill and unfortunately we were right at the bottom. Nether my self or my husband enjoyed this site but are unable to put our finger on the problem as what we used was very clean and tidy and the staff were friendly.
We used the swimming pool and sauna which for £2 was enjoyable. The surrounding area was very hilly and walking was hard going. This site does not allow cycling on the site and unless you are an extremely strong cyclist this area is not a good place to try.
A bus service runs from outside the site to Lyme Regis and Charmouth and beyond. They did have a fish and chip shop on site and a small shop for essentials.

This site is situated on the side of a (pretty steep) hill with lovely valley views from most pitches. The attendants were very friendly and helpful. We didn't try the swimming pool but it looked very inviting, as did the cafe on site.
The pitches were quite level and although there was road noise from the adjacent A35, it wasn't too intrusive from our pitch about halfway down the site. We were rather disappointed with the toilet blocks. Although they were clean, they were pretty dated. The showers had no curtain and it was difficult stopping your stuff from getting wet. The gents showers were stone cold for the duration of our stay.
Charmouth itself has a nice beach but not a lot else. We walked from the site to Lyme Regis which was a definite puff (more steep hills - Dorset folk must have strong legs and hearts!) but a pleasant walk over a golf course and along the river. Lyme is very picturesque and more going on there. We caught the bus back!
I don't think we will return as the steep hills are a bit much for us now but this is a nice site. Updating the loo blocks should really be a priority though.
